Takes a mean free kick and is an honest pro. That’s about all that can be said about Joe Martin.
The fact that Tony Craig kept him out of the team worries me a lot.

We have probably the worst defence I've seen in a long time (even when relegated to the conference) so this has really hit home about what trouble we've found ourselves in.

Tony Craig mostly played in the centre for us in his last spell, but yes, neither are great.

Martin has a good left foot and is OK in the air, but was struggling with the pace of league 1 wingers 3 years ago when we released him.

Rumours at our end to do with League 1 clubs.

Danny Rose off to Coventry apparently. He looked at the end of the game like a player who had played his last game for us.

Also, us being linked to Matt Kilgallon from Bradford. Surely he wouldn't drop to League 2?

Buzzing.

With Andre Green, coming in from Villa - it looks like Conor Chaplin's move to Coventry is finally happening. Initial loan with a transfer fee agreed for January. I wish him well.

Massive shame that it didn't work out with us. He'll score plenty in the right formation.

Jesus we're in trouble.

We've just signed the reserve LB from Stevenage on loan until January.
Does this mean Holmes-Dennis is still a no show? Man, his injury must have been really bad. It was over a year ago he did his ligaments.

Yep still injured.

Apparently he’s taking longer to heal than we all expected - so really who knows when he’ll be back - my guess is at least another month

There will be parties in the street when Chaplin signs. Fans have waited 3 months for this.

I hope it goes on and proves what a good forward he is. Technicially a fantastic player. Great power in his shots, hardly any back lift. Unfortunately he hasn't even managed to make a starting position his own. He does like a dive and got suspended for collecting 5 yellow cards, not one of them was for a foul.

Josh Cullen on a season long loan. Happy with that.

Wycombe. Good signing. Has ability, but needs games. Make or break spell for him, I think.

We've signed Jak Alwnick and Ike Ugbo on loan from Rangers and Chelsea respectively.

We were desperate for a keeper to come in after our second choice broke his arm and our first choice was already out for a while. Very happy with that signing.

Ugbo didn't exactly light it up at Barnsley or MK Dons but he's a body and we need it.

We had him on loan 2 seasons ago and he was superb for us,a great signing along with Charlie Fox from QPR a left sided midfielder.

This time last week Jones made it sound like that there were multiple incomings and potentially quite a few outgoings about to happen imminently, indeed one of the incomings he mentioned might happen before the Shrewsbury game, so slightly odd nothing has come about since then.

Could do with a decent defensive midfield player to cover McCormack for me, playing Rea there I dont really think is a long term solution at this level. I would have said another box to box midfield player might be good but with Pelly playing so well i think thats less of an issue as Berry seems to be coming back sooner than anticipated. Could do with another forward perhaps if Hylton is going to keep getting little knocks all the time though.

I remember, but I also remember him fizzling our after a shit-hot ten or so games and eventually losing his starting position in that side. An apparently lovely lad but exceptionally fragile confidence. IF he can past his self-doubt he could still go on to good things.

Alnwick is top drawer. Would of stayed up two years ago had we not lost him.

Great business from Pompey, £500k and add ons for an unproven striker in the last year of his contract. I hope he does well as he has proven that he is a top finisher. His stats dont look great, but 75% of his appearances must be off the bench.

500k for a player moving from one league one club to another does show how the transfer market is heading at the moment. Stupid amount for this level, but not as stupid as the sums being thrown about in the leagues above.

When you consider the money we got for Mcnulty, it's cheap.

Not that stupid. The trickle down of TV money through transfer fees is having an effect.

Wow. About £400k more than what I’d have offered.

L1 changed since you were last here.

Apparently he was living in digs in High Wycombe which became hard for him being on his own,he have a club house now where he can share with other Wycombe players so maybe that will help him settle.
I thought Fred was doing well at Milwall so was amazed he's back on loan but he's the type of player we need if he can find his form of 3 seasons ago with us when he scored in 8 consecutive games.

Signed Sam Hart on loan from Blackburn, again. Hopefully might get more than a couple of cameo appearances this time.
