That whole January window was a bit odd in hindsight, with the signings of Jervis and Lloyd Jones. One who always looked uncomfortable here and the other never even getting close to featuring. Seems we were a bit panicked and signed a couple of duds.

Guess we will need to have a striker coming in now though.

He will be our third or fourth choice as well bit I guess he can play up front or to either wing so is versatile..

We've signed Eunan O'Kane on loan from Leeds until 10th Jan. Well happy with that. Need a holding midfielder what with McCormacks injury issues. In no way a replacement for Jervis so maybe another to come.

I doubt jervis was our first choice, but i guess you just have to get what is available to you!!!! In saying that whatever player we sign there are always going to be question marks!! Some work out, some don't.

I actually dont think he is a bad player, its more he just didnt really fit with how we play. I think his better position is likely as a wide player but we tried to make him play through the middle, often as a plan B type player off the bench and it just didnt really work.

Having said that he didnt impress at all in the one time I saw him play wide but I think in the right environment he very might well prove his worth. Right now though his confidence will be shot through here so probably for the best he moves on.

What type of midfielder is he? Wikipedia describes him as an attacking midfielder and then a holding midfielder which isn't too helpful...

more holding than attacking, he sits in midfield making key passes, he barely runs at defenders though, his passing is his best attribute imo

Apparently signing Joe Mason on loan from Wolves. I know he's had his fair share of injuries etc... 1 in 4 goals in the championship.

Find it a bit odd O'Kane's deal was only to Jan, but maybe that was the only option. It's def our weak spot so sounds promising. Get Hylton back in the saddle and we've got a tidy squad for noobs ob the block. Consolidate and if it all clicks maybe take a late run at the playoffs

We've signed Taylor Moore on a season long loan from Bristol City and Anton Ferdinand has left the club by mutual consent.

Connor Ogilvie has returned until Christmas to provide left back cover. I'd have preferred to give a chance to young Aaron Simpson personally, but not the worst deal.

Close to signing Jamie Ward from Forest, will have to be really close as we've got two minutes.

Will be really pleased with this one.

We have signed Jake jervis from luton

Delighted with that. Some signings work and some don't. Jervis hasn't impressed at all and doesn't really know what role he should be playing. For a big man his heading is suspect. Seems lazy in his work off the ball and can't shoot for toffee. That said he'll probably be a success at AFC.

Luton made a proper quality signing for this level in O'kane , should be quality at this level

Lets hope so. Seem a little lightweight at times in midfield and are lacking a player who can make those key passes. This season at least. Certainly wasn't a problem last season.

Read that Luke Gambin has been loaned to Crawley. Surprised at that one. Thought he still had something to offer us this season.

That's a great signing, isn't it?

Surprised to see him back in L1. No offence to Rochdale but surely there were other clubs interested and I include Championship clubs.

On paper definitely, knows where the net is, so I’m pretty pleased with this! Let’s hope he does the business for us.

Christ, he looked like a right player at Bolton a few years back.

I think we’re now a man light up front. We’re kind of banking on all four our the strikers that got us here will step up now.

Agree with this really. Especially as Hylton has been picking up little knocks quite a lot of late I was expecting someone else coming in.

I notice that the ITK guy on Outlaws is touting that Okane is the replacement for Lee as attacking midfield player and Lee is “replacing” Jervis, which is a little bit odd if you ask me and doesn’t seem to reconcile with how Leeds fans talk about him and where he plays. I do hope we aren’t trying to be clever and put square pegs in round holes like we used to do with wingers in central midfield positions!

We have signed 4.
Most notable been devante Cole from Wigan, which could be a master stroke if he performs like he did at fleetwood

O'Kane will be quality for Luton, he's a Championship player. Although I'm not sure he's an out and out attacking midfielder. Best taking the ball off the back four and moving play forwards.

That's exactly what we need to be honest and I imagine that's where he'll play based on the descriptions I've seen so far from everyone who has actually seen him play. We're stacked in attacking midfield positions, our options at DM are much weaker and it's possibly the most crucial role in the system we play (a narrow diamond with a huge emphasis on playing out from the back). We'd be mad to sign a Championship DM and then try to change his role give our relative paucity of options in that position.

It sounds like he'll be a huge step up from Glen Rea in terms of coming and getting the ball off of our fairly agricultural centre halves and transitioning up the pitch with possession.

It wouldn’t be surprising if this signing is costing us a shit ton of money. He must be on 5 figures a week at Leeds.

In other news, seems like we’ve lost Paul Hart to Notts County.
