PORT Vale are scouting Solihull Moors striker Omar Bogle as they consider a move for the 22-year-old in the summer.

The 6ft 2in hit-man has been pulling scouts to Solihull's Conference North games as the former Birmingham City youth player builds on his reputation.

Bogle scored 18 goals last season and was named Solihull's player of the year.

He played for Birmingham City's reserves as a 16-year-old and had a brief spell with Glasgow Celtic, playing in their under-19s, before making his name with Hinckley and now Solihull.

He's on Vale's list of potential targets for this summer.

When asked about Bogle at this afternoon's press-conference at Vale Park, coach and scouting co-ordinator Mark Grew said: "We have had him watched on numerous occasions. I have sent people to watch him and they have come back with good reports. We will have to wait and see on that one."
Quite a few non-league teams have tried to sign him over the last 18 months.

We tried last January and the summer. Grimsby were close to signing him last summer, too.

Would be surprised if this one does not happen in the summer:

The rumour of Jack Collison coming to us has been going on for about 6 months, mainly based around him being local and an ex Premier League player, two things which we seem to go for based on previous transfers, especially the latter (Flo, Smith, Chadwick, Bullard etc) but now it has come from the player himself it seems incredibly likely.

Karl "Jesus" Robinson dipping into his tinpot budget once again.

The miracle worker.

Based on the fact he is without a club and has basically just offered himself to us, I would hope we could save a few quid if it happens.

But yeah, we have massively overachieved this season considering we have a smaller budget than Fleetwood.

On the Mark Cullen to Peterborough transfer, supposedly Posh offered £400,000, but in £10,000 installments.

Is there a more odious club in the league when it comes to transfer dealings?

I'd imagine most clubs these days pay in instalments. Certainly forest did when they bought Assombolonga. (And failed to come up with the readies) not sure what the issue is, Cullen was crap against us early in the season. 400k!

Yeah, rarely do fees get paid all up-front. Cash flow purposes.

How much has he improved since he joined you?

I saw him quite a few times during his Hull days, he was very poor but that was in the Championship to be fair.

We had Ryan Brobbel (Middlesbrough) Zac Thompson (Leeds United) Jake Rose (Hull City) and Scott Tancock (Swansea City) all on trial today.

Brobbel scored twice for us and I proper rated him when we played against York last year.

We'll be keeping tabs on Callum Robinson in the summer.

Grayson said:

“If Villa go out and recruit a couple of strikers and a wide player in the summer, there might be the chance that Callum is allowed out on loan for another year, or even permanently.

“If we get any indication that Callum is available in any format next season, we will do something about it.”

Wouldn't be surprised if we were in for him too given Lee Power's relationship with Tim Sherwood.

Bit presumptuous, I get where you are coming from but who knows how the mind of a footballer works!

I don't think it is, i've read his comments all season and he's loved it here and was gutted when he was recalled. Helped by the fact we've also signed his best mate Daniel Johnson and his two bum chums Brownhill and Browne are here.

Fair enough but I would never trust a footballer is all I'm saying.

Still can't understand how Tim Sherwood has managed to get 2 Premiership jobs. More overrated than our Karl....

Knowing Dickov if he's still here (I hope he is) next season and can see him going for Romaine Sawyers

£750k and you can have him!

A portion of our fans would let him go for a lot less, but Deano has built his team around him and would want a big fee for him.

Surely you don't want Dickov next season?
He's built a decent squad good enough to challenge after countless failed takeovers and only a week before the season to prepare his team and we've still got a slight outsiders chance of play offs and if we give a full pre-season to prepare for next season and if we can hold on to our better players like Keegan, Coppinger, Bennett, Butler and Forrester which I think we will, with maybe the exception of Forrester, but he's to inconsistent and isn't good enough for the championship yet, I think we'll have a good chance to really push for play offs next season maybe even automatic, with the shite teams coming down

He was brilliant when we played you at KM don't know if you went? And he was even better and ran the show at your place I'd happily take him, just depends how much we're prepared to pay

Need to sort your home form out to challenge for promotion next season.

Trust me I know all about Sawyers, I've missed 3 games in the past 2 seasons

He's a player that divides opinion so much. 2/3's love him and think he is the best player in the club with great talent, and the other 1/3 think he is utter gash and doesn't do enough. Sawyers is frustrating in that he picks up the ball and carries it in behind the striker, but hardly scores himself and the assists have dry spells. He also ducks out of a lot of challenges and you'll never see him stick a foot in and risk getting hurt.

That being said no-one in our team can carry the ball and create space like he does. A portion dislike him so much they'd probably let you have him on a free :ffs:

Sawyers is a fantastic player, but also a really frustrating one.

Ah, when we played at the Bescot I did notice that he rarely rarely shoots and he always crosses or goes short, so he'd fit in our team perfectly haha none of our players ever shoot either.
