Hoping Jones saying all this about being the best team doesn't mean Luton will be trying to prove a point in their last couple of games. Last thing we need is to get bummed in the gob next Saturday which will happen if they're up for it.

Nice relaxing end of season game we can all enjoy please, no need for a cricket score

Can’t imagine there being a particularly long list of folk willowing in pity over missing a trip to Luton, either. Urgh. Dirty place.

Around the stadium, sure. I wouldn't be so naive and idiotic to call the entirety of Mansfield a "dirty place" though, as I've not seen 95% of it.

Enjoy the play offs you grumpy oaf. Kiss kiss.

EDIT: If you make them...

Man. If you lot aren't used to Kenny by now........well most of you don't have to get there now. He's our forum Danny Hylton. Lol:cool1:

I love how quiet Kenneth has become on his very own ‘Deluded Managers’ thread after that award winning piece from his beloved Luton Manager. The perfect end to a slightly bizarre but popular thread.

Anyway back to those all important away followings :dk:

Have I? I am allowed to do some work on a Monday rather than respond to nonsense.

That's poor tbh. We took 61 to Morecambe tonight. Beat that!
I think there were more of us at Bromley for an equally enthralling nil - nil that maintains Barra's progress to National League survival.

I'm useless at guessing numbers but the brotherhood were out in some force (I met a Plymouth fan and a Carlisle fan also giving their moral support) and ex-U David Gregory, in goal for Bromley, gave the loud and proud Pennock Army a genuine warm round of applause and respect at the end.

Wow, I forgot Mansfield is twinned with Savile Row.

We got off coach outside the ground and walked down the end of the road looking for a pub......reminded me of the film " Wrong Turning" and when we also saw the Weapons Amnesty Bins darned well knew we had !.............never realised what a sheltered life we lead down here in Devon.

Seems really odd to me to not support your team somewhere because it’s not an amazing place. You’re not spending a week there, and you’ll spend the majority of the time in a pub and a football stadium, perhaps a local restaurant at most. Even teams based in small places like FGR have that. To be honest away days in ‘good’ towns are shit, they’re more expensive, tend to have soulless grounds and I once got told off at a Wetherspoons in Wycombe for wearing a football shirt on match day (because those who make trouble are famously shirters...)

Exactly. In honesty, not many places make Mansfield look brilliant. Luton achieves this will effortless aplomb.

Both are dumps. With Mansfield the lesser of two evil places.

The quality of the town/city/surroundings/pubs etc definitely has an impact on whether I go or not. An away day isn’t just about the 2 hours in the ground for me it’s about the (half) day

Away days are what you make of it.. whether the place is nice or not.
Agree. Some of the better days are generally places you don't think are very nice

That’s a fantastic following at Cov on any day let alone midweek. Imps are my tip to win the playoffs , they have the big momentum currently and this season overall

Again - there's some much nicer parts of Luton. But the 2 square miles you lot see from train station to football stadium obviously means the entire place is a dump.

Why would you venture (usually by foot) over 2 miles away to get away from the dump?

This isn’t a real estate forum, I’m not looking to buy a family home. Of course I’m talking about the areas around the ground and train station.

Dump , as a lot of traditional football grounds are/we’re I.e. baseball ground, Villa Park

The away days I’d see as being ‘dumps’ are the Colchesters, set apart miles away from anything, doesn’t feel a part of the town. Luton isn’t exactly Monaco but at least it feels a part of the local community. Although the worst away day in the league IMO is Crawley
