You could excuse that they were unaware but didn't stop the rest of the Crewe fans joining in so all credit to those.

Doesn't take Einstein to work out but they are just idiots , we have this issue with them every time, a mob of prepubescent 16 year olds in Stone Island and CP Company congregate together and then always down to horrendous stewarding get flares in.

Strange really because Artell says it isn't a 'big game ' so maybe Crewe do that at every away game.

They seem to have inherited our dick head fraction for the previous few years as their fans moaned about our fans behaviour but now seem to have it instead with them lamping our keeper in April and setting off flares yesterday.

Oh yes, the supposed official at ECFC whose name could never be confirmed by Lincoln.
Anyone with an iota of intelligence would realise that given the circumstances, with us chasing automatic promotion going to Lincoln fot the first time in years, on a bank holiday, would generate a need for more than 400 tickets. But far easier to blame the opposition than admit you made a mistake.
I think it’s time you just got over it.

Our travelling support has seemingly changed abit over the last few years. Whereas it used to be alot of older generation types and young kids, we now have alot in the 15-25 year old bracket. Which unfortunately are the more football factory type wannabes. The only plus side I've noticed is the vocal support away from home is as loud as I can ever remember on a more frequent basis.

The question you should be asking are where are they at your home games because Gresty Road is probably one of the quietest grounds in the League and has been for years in my experience.

Couldn't agree more,Gresty Rd is a morgue. The problem is the noisey end has always been the Gresty Rd end. Which was great when it always used to be 90% full at least. Nower days it's about 10% full. The club should look at lowering ticket prices in there, and get it packed once again. But they won't.

Completely agree- the 47 Crawley fans who travelled to Morecambe last weekend on a 600 mile round trip deserve just as much credit and kudos and any fan who travelled yesterday.

This is a once in a lifetime experience for Imps fans- but it doesn't make us any better than any other fan
totally agree any fan who travels deserves credit , and lets be honest the teams who are struggling or not doing so well to travel and support them is superb , i know through watching rovers for years away thinking will we ever win away .

There used to be a decent atmosphere in the old days when the home fans were on the Popular Side terrace. However, since that stand was given to the away supporters the atmosphere seems to have gone downhill. You can't generate much noise from those little stands behind the goals.

Thats about 123 more than they have brought to Prenton Park before so I suppose the importance of this game has dawned on them. Anyway its a chance for them to see what a real football club is like.

StrangelyBrown is one of a couple who are collating them, I think. This is what he posted on Vitals a couple of weeks ago so will have changed slightly since then.

Anything less than 10% of home gates for away support is considered to be poor and truly tin pot

It’s a very norvern biased league though. We’ve only got 6 clubs that could be considered as being anywhere near our neck of the womb.

Yeah, Oldham/Bury/Macclesfield/Crewe/Port Vale are in great league centric locations.

Think that figure is from before Oldham and Newport for us though so our average is around 850.

Good efforts from Lincoln, Mansfield, us, Oldham.

Yes, ours is definitely over 800 if you include the Oldham game.

When you consider MK are on the London to Liverpool/Manchester railway line they don’t really have any excuse for such poor followings.

1040 to Lincoln and potentially 1600 to Crawley if it’s a big game would see us past 20,000 away fans for the season. That must be one of our highest ever.

We pretty much always seem to finish highest on away following as a proportion of home fans, but with home attendances increasingly gradually Oldham beat us to it.

With the 1400 well out tomorrow and whatever we take to MK hopefully it’ll improve further

I think we’ve consistently been best in the country for % of home fans taken away for a few years. Wish it wasn’t that way and we had a few more turn up at home like...

Probably the highest ever. I doubt we bettered that total even in our Championship days.

Considering where we are I'm happy with 9.6%...obviously clubs based in the middle should be exceeding that figure considerably...
