There was a really sad moment in the last series of Class of 92, when the guy who has taken the tickets for years and years had the view of the pitch from his booth blocked by one of the stands being extended or something and can no longer enjoy the match and do his job at the same time. We all slate Salford for obvious and valid reasons (some more so than others), but it's easy to forget that there are proper fans from back in the days before the superstars got their hooks into their club and those are the people that you can't help but feel have been really shat on.

I'm sure that I read or heard somewhere that a lot of the old fans from the pre Class of '92 era don't go anymore?

Sounds about right, to be fair. The earlier episodes of Class of 92 focus on the discontent of the fans regarding the ex-Man Utd lot quite a bit. Definitely worth watching if you haven't seen them. Dunno if the oldest ones are streamable anywhere though, as it went from BBC to Sky.

Correct, they stuck with the accountant who is now Chairwoman from the early days but most were grumbling, they changed the kit from Orange to United colours for example and obviously diluted the fan base with all the plastics/disgruntled United fans they have picked up since.

Just seen Gary Neville’s interview where he says he expects to get to the playoffs...we’ll have to invite all of their fan into the promotion thread

I've got a feeling he'll be right. I'm not fussed either way. If they bottle it great, that will be fun. If they go up, they're out of the division and might hit their ceiling.

Didn’t see anything last weekend to say they will have enough in only 15 games to close it.

I’ve just thought too, maybe we can do another table where we actually add phantom fans to the away attendance when the allocation isn’t big enough? Lincoln for example, never gave Mansfield anywhere near enough, nor did Notts County last season for that matter. I estimate you could have easily added another 3,000 to those two games combined. Great statistics for windmilling.

What utter bs from Conks#fakenews

Ah well, didn’t quite manage to get a Salford ticket. After priority holders snapped theirs up, it left less than 500 tickets - of which were sold in the first hour this morning.
