because 650 is the size we've made the away end - it doesn't need to be any bigger so won't be any bigger.
Do you sell out the home ends? Sure we got allocated more in the past, isn't the terrace segregation movable?

I am surprised it holds 600, as we took 350 on Saturday and it looked quite full.

This is not particularly a dig at Barrow, but clubs at this level should not be giving sub-1,000 allocations to visiting teams in my opinion. I think they should be obliged to either allocate a greater percentage of the existing capacity, or improve their ground to make it possible without inconveniencing home supporters.

why - there will only be 3 or 4 clubs that sell enough to fill it as it is...

Because I think clubs at a given level should broadly be able to cope with supporter demand at that level.

For example, Sutton are only permitting 450 away supporters this season, and you can't tell me that only three or four clubs in the division could sell that number of tickets.

Why not go the whole hog and ban away supporters altogether ? I am sure that would be a lot more convenient and cost effective for a number of clubs.

I know Barrow is a little bit out of the way but I would still expect more than 3 or 4 clubs to sell out, given all the clubs in the North West and Bradford.
I suppose at least Sutton seem to be expanding their away end, are Barrow not doing the same?
Its also a self fulfilling prophecy. If you only have a small capacity, people won't want to go as much as a club where there's plenty of room.
If we play Sutton next season, I doubt I would go, more likely to attend other grounds in the South East where the accommodation is better.

What I don`t get about Barrow`s away end is that they have put a section of seats in the middle of a terrace area, which looks awful btw, when they always used to have a section of their main stand reserved for visitors. Surely they could have left things as they were therefore giving away fans a bigger allocation. It`s not like they sell out, or anywhere near sell out, every week. We could have sold a thousand at least for next Saturday especially if we get a result tomorrow but now due to a lack of foresight by the board of Barrow hundreds of our fans will have to stay at home and Barrow are going to lose all that extra revenue.

That away bit is a fucking mess, an eyesore for those not even standing in it. I'm guessing the W section of the stand used in the NL can't be used here as the required segregation barriers to the side will eat up another load of seats and therefore reduce the available seats for home fans.

We are desperate for a new ground, or a knock down and start again job but to be honest as things are we won't be at this level long enough to get the required amount of income for investment on that scale. It'll just be a case of patching areas up with extra seating with 'temporary' stands like some others at this level have. I guess that's what happens when your ground is left crumbling for 50 years in the wilderness.

It is a requirement, but you have a few seasons to get there - we supposedly have to find another 1,000 seats this summer if we stop up. Next season there should be more space (though I've no idea where these seats will go or how we'll afford them).

And yes, there are lots of clubs who tell us they could sell out our away end - but there's only been three this season and one of those was Villa.

2,014 Dale out of 8,199 at Boundary Park.

Self-isolating myself, so missed watching no shots on target for either team.

(The delay was down to a fan having to be hospitalised with a suspected heart attack - hope they are OK)

Decent numbers from Dale - I might be wrong but don’t recall you bringing that many normally? Was all set for a great derby game with the crowd but the conditions combined with both sides being completely useless going forwards meant it was a tough watch.

Think the fan is now in a stable condition in hospital

Lot of fans having heart attacks at matches lately.

Worth pointing out that Sutton are currently expanding their away end to allow for approx 800 fans.

Indeed the new stand is in the process of going up (well the concrete was being put down at the beginning of the week). Before the end of the season we’re planning on moving the terrace back which should allow further increase of the away allocation. We’re also putting in safety measures which should see the increase in capacity of the ‘Tardis’ terrace (the small uncovered terrace next to the scoreboard) which would allow it to be more of an unofficial overspill area rather than the unofficial one it has been. This would also us to offer a bigger allocation should the need allow.

I have not seen an official figure for Forest Green yesterday, but it looked like about 200-250 in a crowd of 10,924.

We’ve got Barrow on the last day and if we’re still in the promotion shakeup that’s gonna be a nightmare to get tickets

I'm sure that they said 112 on Quest?
Can't believe that. I'd have guessed 200 minimum. Possibly quite a bit more.

Even from a statistical point of view 112 sounds implausible: e.g. we took over 150 on the substantially longer journey to Bradford and 114 to Carlisle. Even apart from the top-of-the-table clash aspect, in some ways Tranmere are the one big rival we think we have in this league, because of the couple of other important play-offs we've had with them. Looking back, I see we took we took 170 to PP in 2019, which was quite an important late-season match, on Good Friday, and with the possibility of getting an automatic promotion place still in it for us then. More than that this year almost certainly...
