85 Sutton at Swindon a total nonsense figure for the 2nd consecutive year, where’s the tinpot thread.
I've seen plenty of bigger teams than Sutton bring sub-100 away followings to Brunton Park... especially on a Tuesday night.Oddly, someone on our forum who was in the stand opposite tried to count them (as there were so few) & estimated between 80-90 before the figure was announced. Agree with the tinpot comment, but possibly not in the same way
Agree, I'd expect them to shift most of that allocation but to do it one hour is bonkers.I sort of expect that from Wrexham, tbh. They haven’t played each other since 2005, not forgetting, it’s only 65 mile away.
Still a very good following.
We took 2,700 there on a Tuesday night a couple of years ago.Decent effort that.
On a side note, the top end of the Conference has seen some ridiculous followings again so far this season. Wrexham sold out a 2300 allocation for Oldham in an hour!
Yeah saw that. Either wrong or lying. But hey, it doesn’t matter anyway.Oddly, someone on our forum who was in the stand opposite tried to count them (as there were so few) & estimated between 80-90 before the figure was announced. Agree with the tinpot comment, but possibly not in the same way
966 buoyant SWA at Salford.
You should have a look at our recent away record before making that statement. That’s pretty poor, you should be selling out there really given the distance.
Cracking win mind

In periods when we are in good form, our home and away support is better than your own.
Our away support fluctuates depending on performances on the pitch and the state of the economy, the same as for any club.I’m not bothered about that, on the face of it, like it or not, 900 to salford is a poor effort - as you point out if you travel so well selling out 1400 tickets at a game an hour away shouldn’t be hard.
960 too many in my eyes as Salford hardly contribute when it comes to visiting fans. That’s pretty poor, you should be selling out there really given the distance.

I would like to see an official list of what constitutes a ‘good’ away support. We need clarification ASAP on this important matter.
It’s probably best you don’t know.
Since how many people travel to an away match is the most important thing in Football there should be some clarification.
Honestly I think it’s terrible that extra points aren’t awarded to teams with more away fans.
It’s the most important thing in this thread, sort of the point….unless of course you support Lincoln or Bradford and like to shoehorn in the home attendance too
If you don’t like away following discussions this is one to avoid mate.
I’ve got nothing against discussing away attendances, I just find BBBing away attendances at any level to be silly and counterproductive.
FWIW given all that’s going on in terms of cost of living and cost of travelling (which has been ridiculous for years) any away support is to be commended, whether it be the 966 Tranmere fans at Salford yesterday or the 69 Harrogate fans at Sutton the other week.
…all that and then agree that Grimsby’s away support is best…I definitely feel like more leeway should be given in the current climate for shithousing about perceived poor away followings, but at the same time the whole point of this thread is to collect the figures, and naturally due to it being a football forum, praise and ridicule.
960 too many in my eyes as Salford hardly contribute when it comes to visiting fans.
Biggest is not necessarily best...I just wish my willy was bigger so I could wave it about a little!
