I checked Northstander’s figures and okay I did get one or two incorrect but not all.
[#] Barrow: - post 13,462 dated Sep 2 states 450 Barrow fans (at Harrogate)
[#] Bradford: - post 13,183 dated Aug 15 states 1343 City at Stockport.
I didn’t bother checking where we had one supporter different.
However the numbers were on the weekly roundup that Northstander apparently failed to check at the time.

I am a senior OAP, a cough and splutter away from meeting my maker, so I don’t want grief when posting these figures. I do it because I no longer able to attend matches and am doing this to fill that void. But if you or anybody else wants to carry on this work please PM me with your email address and I forward the spreadsheet for you to carry on.
This is from Barrow’s twitter page

A massive thank you to all 392 of you who made the trip to Harrogate yesterday

Ohhh that explains it.

When the Mega Powers Explode.
northstandexile is the iPhone, tried and tested with a big following and loyal customers but he knows he all has us in the palm of his hand.

Alfie is all these new Chinese phones. An exciting alternative tempting us with constant new updates and great deals but nobody is entirely sure if he can be trusted.

I'm happy to drop out and let Northstander carry on. But he needs to add more info such as weekly table and a monthly table of the teams away support.
Those were the reasons I put my head above the parapet.

Surely you can both do it together. Most features and games on here die a death because it's one person running them and life inevitably gets in the way. This could be a the start of a beautiful partnership.

I am happy for Alfie to publish his data, however just copying and pasting stuff from Sky is only of limited use if you want accurate figures that haven’t be checked and inaccurate data can get replicated easily by just copying stuff from lists.

The other week for example it was reported that the crowd for a Bradford City game was 10,000 less than the actual. Most folk on here could see that the figure was nonsense but it got onto the ‘official’ internet lists.

I suggest that figures posted on here initially should come with a reference from where the figure came from.

There are four places where I look for an away following after a game finishes
1) the home club match report
2) the away club match report
3) the home club twitter feed
4) the away club twitter feed

Generally the numbers match, the problem comes when a couple of these sources are different. Which do you believe? Like the Bradford away following at Stockport.

Can I suggest we have a discussion between posters to agree which numbers we use if club sources are different from each other.

To reiterate, I am happy for Alfie to publish his averages but if they are not accurate it defeats the objective.

Bang in the middle makes sense to me? Although it's not as enjoyable as someone claiming they counted everyone manually.

I’m not having manual counting unless there’s a clicker involved (picture must be included) with a backup clicker in case the first falls in the piss trough

Well on that note I counted exactly 83 Morecambe fans last Saturday and then the official announcement was 120. But then WHO is listening to an average guy like me?

Madness.

It is good to hear that northstandexile is tried and tested and as accurate as can be but he needs to be a lot more regular

The class A averages updates are few and far between so far this season it defeats the objective somewhat.

Look, we had 4000 fans in Bradford’s home ends, stop disputing it and just add it on to the averages ok?
Bradford City FC have emailed me:
" the attendance from Grimsby was 1729."

Yay!

There has got to be a Notts fan on here who cares a lot more than me on away followings.

I think he's been pulling your plonker about away fans in the home end :fl:
Perhaps yes, perhaps no BUT he is persistent.
For my own peace of mind I had to make sure my numbers were correct and his were outlandish.

I’m gonna start my own table based on how many counted in the away stand plus how many in the home ends. All numbers will be accepted on a first come first listened to basis.

Personally I think it’s amazing that Grimsby had 5k+ in the Bradford ends. Great support.
