I was just joshing SoC, I'm the last person who needs to hear any excuses.

It was clear and obvious that there was more at play than just train strikes when looking at sub 400 for any Town away game. Surely the recent run of defeats is the biggest factor?
Yeah you're probably right, had we gone into that off the back of three or four wins or even picking up a few more points then I'm sure more people would have found a way.

That's certainly one of the main reasons our away followings have been very impressive this season. I thought over 900 was decent rather than poor on Saturday too helped by being top of the table and obviously because we play really sexy, open, stylish attacking driven football with a side helping of suicidal defending and gifting opposition goals.

Can't see us being involved in a 0-0 any time soon and long may it continue.

Rumours circulating in Nottinghamshire that the Wrexham figure should be 1684 and not 1484.

Honestly thought it'd be less, 8th away game since the season started - a Tuesday night, cross country trek would be bottom of the list for everyone picking and choosing.
Yep horrible midweek journey that. I swear we barely ever play you lot in daylight.

Is Morecambe vs Accrington abit of a derby, if so I know Accy are a small club but 320 seems like a pretty poor effort. Good numbers from Swindon and Wrexham though. But anyone that travels midweek fair play, I used to go the likes of Swansea, Yeovil and Southend midweek away from home and it takes alot of dedication and money.

It has to be, thst stand has 1910 seats doesn’t it? Not a chance there was 400+ empty seats last night
1800ish is usually a full sellout isn't it? Don't remember us ever getting 1900+ in the past. However, your OS says 1619 right now.

They never sell every seat, but it does hold close to 1900 I believe, but full allocation is usually 1700 odd.

Yeah think there’s some netting over the first couple of rows, for what I don’t know. Probably to try and make sure people aren’t stood up at the front or some bollocks

We do the same. The days of all the seats in a stand being available for football fans to buy seem long gone.

Stadiums are shrinking whilst attendances are growing. Nearly 7000 home fans is almost mind-blowing and very impressive especially for a midweek game. And that includes factoring in playing FC Hollywood and all that positivity that brings.

There has probably been somewhere close to 15-20 fixtures between us since you were relegated to the NL the first time around and I can't ever recall one of them being on a Saturday.

You wouldn’t think so, looking at our away end last season.

We’d sold out for the Sat, but was cancelled due to death of The Queen. Went there a few months later on a Tues night and you couldn’t move - but yet the following was announced at 1,416.

Martin Shaw on Stagsnet has said

Note on the number of away fans: it was erroneously announced on the night as 1,484. This must have been a typo, Wrexham were given an allocation of 1,721 and sold out, though maybe not all disabled places would have sold. It cannot possibly have been 1,484. So I think the away attendance was probably 1,684 and simply a typo along the line. I will endeavour to confirm that, but will take as 1,684 for now.

I thought it was strange - not a single seat was seen except the disabled part yet it was 300 below the allocation. A typo would be a logical explanation. Stewards had a pretty hard time of keeping fans off the steps during the game, including my lad (he's only 11) but in fairness he couldn't see as everyone was standing up.

At least they are usually entertaining affairs though.

We’ve been given 1,700+ for our past 3-4 visits. We fetched 1,671 this season.

It doesn’t fill you with much confidence in getting figures right if they can’t even get them correct on their official site.

Figures are down in the away end via turn style clicks, 1400 odd that night looked bang on. After years it’s easy to be able to tell, it always looks more full than it is when lots stand up.

The 1619 will be an old figure that we were told was the maximum but it’s 1700 odd now.

I just found over 300 not travelling difficult to believe, but whatever.

We must get to the bottom of this. No way 300 wouldn't travel, 30 yeah sure but not 300.

Confidence has taken a bit, integrity needs to be maintained

That was do to Grimsby fans being naughty boys and need more seats to be netted over.

With regard to the Wrexham following, I am going to use the 1684 figure.
This means unfortunately for Grimsby fans that Wrexham jump up to second with Grimsby dropping to third In the most important League Two table.
