Just saying that Sky VIP gives you the chance to apply for tickets as a ‘home fan’ (all Harrogate aren’t we) for low allocation away games, obviously not fool proof if someone at Sky looks at your address and puts 2 and 2 together but worth a shot.

I accept that they’ve got works going on in the away end, but for a club who are averaging the lowest in the league surely they can accommodate more away fans in a different area of the ground temporarily

I've posted about this before. The ground is surrounded on 3 sides by houses and NHS buildings, the only access is from the A661, Wetherby Road. Home supporters enter/exit through the north turnstiles, and away supporters through the south. During the building works, the space for home supporters in the Wetherby Rd stand has been reduced to allow more space for away fans.

There is no safe way of allowing away supporters access to any other part of the ground while maintaining segregation.

I know nothing about Sutton but if they have completed extensive improvement works to increase capacity and improve facilities in the last couple of years, well done them. Possibly one reason they have been able to complete major works quickly is that they haven't had to deal with Harrogate Borough Council's Planning Department which moves slower than an arthritic snail with asthma.

I admit to being haunted by the fear that we will end up with the smartest ground in National League North.

Similarly, I haven't undertaken a study of the relative performance of every council planning department in England in both one and two tier areas. So congratulations Conkers and denzel ecfc for putting in the effort. I mean it, top job.

Sorry but you can't champion the hairdressers and waitresses of Harrogate when it suits you and then complain when nothing gets done except for haircuts for Karens. As expertly brought over to your table as it was, that would be having your lemon drizzle cake and eating it.

I am sorry I fear that I have not been sufficiently clear. However, nowhere have I complained about the slow pace of action to increase the number of way supporters at Wetherby Rd. I couldn't care less if the space holds 2, 200 or 2000 travelling fans and takes 10 years to complete (which at the current rate of progress is possible). I have tried to explain to those upset at the low altercation the ground layout and the impracticality of implementing the suggestion that away fans are accommodated elsewhere in the ground.

When it was pointed out that Sutton had upgraded its ground much faster than we have I suggested that just perhaps the two situations are not identical. At the same time, I have complimented those who have put, no doubt considerable time and effort into researching both ground improvements and also the efficiency of all the council planning departments.

Are you sure you’re an actual Harrogate fan? I thought they were imaginary creatures, like the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy and parents told stories about them to scare their kids.
