Oxford (spits) could be classed as South Midlands. Swindon has always been West Country (ooooh aaaaaar)
I think we are agreed...for me the North is anything above Birmingham! The South is anything below Birmingham, for me.
Shudder.
Up until mortgages went up for about the last 14 months in a row I was only paying £327 a month mortgage for our 3 bedroom terrace and 2 of our bedrooms are huge too.Only reason I'd move back to Grimsby once I finish in the forces is because it will be the only place I can afford to buy a house!
Was a pretty rubbish day wasn't it. I got a phone call at half time saying my dad had collapsed in the supermarket and I thought he was going to peg it as he was having cancer treatment. It was a long drive back and I was the designated driver. Some particularly bad memories of that massive open stand. Shudder-inducing stuff.

You have to pay to not be able to drive anywhere now too.The glamour of London, pay £500k for a bed sit, can’t drive anywhere because the traffic is a permanent nightmare, pay twice as much for everything, get the tube with half a billion other people only to get home hoping you’ve not been stabbed or pick pocketed by some Eastern European gang. Why wouldn’t you want to live there?
What part of GY did you live in?You have to pay to not be able to drive anywhere now too.
I can see the arguments for and against London/the South East vs anywhere else. I prefer to try to appreciate what I've got now over looking for the flaws in other places. What I will say though is that the place I enjoyed living the most was probably the only one that was outside of the UK.
I was in Cleethorpes, but I only actually lived there until I was 2, then we moved to Barton where I grew up. I don't even know what the area of Cleethorpes is, Grainsby Avenue was the street, kind of off Taylors Avenue. What part of GY did you live in?
I’ve been on the West Marsh for 44 years now.

I went to school with Grimsby, Scunny and Hull fans where I grew up so I was actually the front line.

I left the uk 14 years ago only been back twice and one of them was a funeral ,and that will be the only reason i ever return again and i lived in one of the better parts of nottinghamshireYou have to pay to not be able to drive anywhere now too.

Oh we had all the Liverpool and United fans as well who vastly outnumbered anyone supporting a local club. Even had a few North Lincs Whites actually, get everywhere the Leeds lot don't they.Frontline?
Sounds blissful in comparison to my school upbringing.
Every school day for me was like a bad day in Bosnia, what with all the Bradford Whites and plastic United fans.
Don't get me wrong, I've liked everywhere I've lived in the UK, I just think the biggest cons for me are related to politics and a deeper understanding of the country here than I was able to have when I was in Seoul. If my Korean was fluent enough to understand the news there then I might look back on my time there with less of a rose tint. Part of the appeal of living overseas is the bubble effect.I left the uk 14 years ago only been back twice and one of them was a funeral ,and that will be the only reason i ever return again and i lived in one of the better parts of nottinghamshire

No but there were cows in the adjacent fields. My school had sheep chickens and ducks in a barn right in the middle of it, anyone else?
