Nearly 2000 sold for Pompey on the final day. Gonna be a cracking day out.

It was Wrexham v Histon, wasn't it? Surpassed our proud record of one away fan in the 80s so we can hardly scream from the rooftops.
You're right there, my bad, it was Histon - the little irritant to Cambridge Utd. Grays are the club that only brought 8 to the mill in the conference.

Plymouth and Carlisle must be at a financial disadvantage in regular away attendances by virtue of the extreme distances involved?
I attended a number of games at Home Park last season and at least a couple of sides only brought double figure away fans for their Saturday games and a few of the rest were low hundreds where at other more central clubs they would probably bring at least 400 plus?

Just be thankful you have never been in the conference, 'with a visiting support of 8 (eight)'
Gateshead took 3 to Braintree last Tuesday for a play off 6 pointer.
Lowest at Blundell Park in 6 years of non league was Telford last year with 6.

Sold out northampton for next months trip... Shame it's a small allocation as could've had a couple thousand there

As has been said before, temporary seats are being put into the East stand as we speak, you may receive an increased allocation.

I wouldn't if I was in your position. Could be your promotion game I'd want as many home fans in as possible

102 represents nearly 10% of their home fan base, so Orient would need to take nearly 500 to match it.

102 is around 8%. It's less the percentage, more the pure numbers. No idea how they survive at this level, really. Orient would have had to have taken approximately 370 to match up, not the ludicrous 700 suggested.

I think it all stems from the Cambridge fans' collective embarrassment that, despite having a virtually identical fanbase to ours, their away support is dreadful, and they have to convince themselves that we're some sort of behemoth in order to make themselves feel better about being awful. Never mind.

So if you was in their position for a meaningless end of the season game you'd take 370 up there? Don't think so fella

Not much point in dealing in hypotheticals, is there? The last time our season was effectively over in mid-March was 2008/09.

We've only had four 350+ away followings at our ground (one of those was Plymouth at Ewood Park) this season, that probably contributes a little bit to the poor atmosphere at Brunton Park almost every week.

On a sidenote, anyone got an idea as to how many Bristol Rovers are expecting to bring up next Monday?

As of today 300 have already been sold. Is it pay on the day as well ?

We wouldn't want to show ourselves up as 'tinpot' if we can't fill the increased capacity stadium, especially after all of the 'Sold Out' signs/posts recently, we may need your help...

Not a bad effort then. I assume there'll be POTD as there is at almost every other game, though I could be wrong.

CHOMP!! and pedantic long wandering response warning.

Edit: Belated thanks to Walkey for the tables.

Last season, Orient had 8.4% of their av home attendance travelling away (487), Morecambe had 8.9% (134, only Stanley had less), we had 11.4 % (513) and Cobblers had 13.6% (568). I suspect our average away league attendances are probably down in total (apparently up to 582 according to Walkey) and certainly as a % of home crowds this year.

This season, our home league attendances are well up and Orient's well down. U's 5,195 compared to 5,103 and Orient's 5,380 compared to 6,466. (I bought a Football League Paper this week).

We don't do embarrassment - but SVH and our Turkish freedom fighter do love an argument.

Me I just go with Ben Franklin.

So I agree, 102 Morecambe in East London was pitiful (its actually 6.5% of this season's av home attendance of 1,564 8.2% of home fans, which has itself been boosted regularly by give-aways) - but having talked to some of their disillusioned supporters and ex-supporters I can see why.

I have no real sympathy, as it seems to be part of the cycle for clubs chasing the football league money-making dream in recent years, but a rift has certainly developed between owner/board and many of the fans - evidenced regularly on Shrimpsvoice. Attendances have dropped rather than grown, each year since the move from Christie Park. 2010/11, the first season at Globe Arena, was 2,268 and they're down to 1,564 this season.

Frustration is probably fuelled by the fact that they are also surrounded by bankrolled clubs or clubs where ego rather than business sense has ruled (Fleetwood, Fylde, Blackpool, Blackburn and Barrow) but their main owner seems to have focussed on actual making money from development of Christie Park and the Globe Arena. Jim Bentley has worked miracles but owner, Peter McGuigan, set out his three-year plan in 2013 (we remember our own fwee yeaw pwan) which aimed to see the Shrimps “at least in a break even position by the end of year three” and he's now heading for the exit.

What's this embarrassment crap Eton Rifle's on about? We have identical home support, something he acknowledges, but L'orient have a better away following average - we have a 582 avg and they have an avg of 715. That's 133 more which is pretty understandable as LO have spent the whole season in or around the play off places, while otoh, we were only in the top 7 for the first two opening games of the season.

133 more away fans? Big deal.

Our average is pretty decent... Could've been a lot more though as we've had 7 sell outs

I would just like to point out I wasn't digging out Morecambe as their 102 was indeed a respectable effort for their club size, it was just more of an observation on my part, having been to virtually every home game since 1995, the majority of which have come at this level :bye:

All 1,810 Luton tickets for our game at Barnet on Easter Monday have now been sold.

In other news, I'm now £340 lighter as I've just renewed my season ticket.

Doesn't look like Newport are bringing many today, we've sold half the away end to home supporters

Judging by Twitter, there's 100s of Orient fans parked on the M6 today. Neither supporters' coach has made it to the ground yet. Some schadenfreude to be had at the begging for a delayed kick off.

Doubt the team are going to turn up either.
