Yeah.

No idea why we weren't allowed more.

Seemed a massive shame to see that big stand so unused when so many were after tickets.

I guess the Notts Owners don't need the money.
They did that with us in the play offs too.
That worked well for them. :D

I can understand the rationale for the play-off game - they didn’t want 3.5k Town fans down a whole side of the pitch for a one off must win, but for a nothing game for them, it seems illogical to turn down the spend of the Stockport fans.

Sorry Grimsby but we also took more to Gillingham than they did to us.

In fairness they gave us 4,000 and that worked well for them too :)

Obviously it’ll be down to costs/police - no sense in notts opening up more if they’re actually operating the extra at a loss due to that.

I suspect that was tickets sold rather than actual attendance. Quite a few I know had bought previously but didn’t make the trip once it became a dead rubber, and only those fussed about the Tick, had already bought train tickets, or had convinced the missus with a trip to Betty’s Tea Rooms and a night away, actually bothered.

Strange that North Yorkshire Police thought it warranted the huge police presence. They obviously expected it to be a crucial match a few weeks ago, put a big operation in place, but then didn’t think to themselves last week “this is a nothing game now. Maybe we scale back the meat wagons, and plod on overtime and save the tax payer a few quid”.

Stewards supposedly expected a 5,000 attendance and one that was spoken to was drafted in from Middlesbrough. All that for a glorified friendly was hilarious.

So did Accrington sell all their 906 allocation at Stockport or were they given less.

Still no news on number of Dons at Tranmere

Earlier in the season they took 511 to Salford and 320 to Morecambe for an evening kick off.
So from your observation I will be going with an estimate of 400 until we get an official number, considering it was a dead rubber as far as they are concerned.

This is hilarious, there were all of three police officers for the massed hoards from Bedfordshire. Harrogate is a tiny club. The most we have had at the EnviroVent this year was 3900 when Bradford came selling out the away stands which currently hold 1000. The idea that,

1) MK Dons could bring 1000, or even more ridiculously,
2) 4000 Harrogate people would want to see MKD

is just mad.

Any stewards who told you 5000 was expected were taking the piss. You did not realise they were making fun of you and fell for the joke. I bet they are still laughing now.

Nothing to do with me beyond passing on a second hand message to an internet forum, but everybody I spoke to up there was lovely and welcoming.

However, considering it was the final home game of a relatively successful season for Harrogate and during ticket sales we might have had automatic promotion riding on the game, I don’t see why it’s such a stretch to assume a slightly bumper crowd. We had sold 500+ before the Mansfield game and if we had won that then a lot more would have bothered going.
