Is that when Gary Megson was in charge of Wednesday? Struggling to remember who we had in caretaker charge back then. Name completely escapes me!

Edit: Just remembered it was Colin Cooper.
Yeah cos of the EFL ruling you had to start with 8 of the previous games 11 Megson decided to make 3 subs almost straight after the kick off.

No trains and trying to get to Mansfield is a Ballache from anywhere.
Just a bit surprised - brought 1450 to Cleethorpes last season which was a plod restricted sell out. It’s only a 50 mile road trip to Mansfield. Sign of the times maybe - fuel price etc

We were 300-400 down on what I’d usually expect at Colchester. Fuel prices and rail strikes have to be the defining factors in keeping numbers suppressed, particularly in instances where there’s little wrong with the football itself.

Whereas mansfield isn’t the easier to travel to, it’s also not the hardest if you research it properly,

Anyone coming nearby should get off at alfreton and get a bus which takes about 30 mins from the stop outside the station.

It was partly tongue in cheek, but come on, it’s Mansfield not Leeds away.

Well you only had 600 at barrow, was there masses in the home ends there?

I do appreciate increasing capacity, especially away capacity should be a matter of importance, but 1,750 is probably at least an average allocation for league 2.

By all accounts, there were a few in the home sections at Barrow.

It just seems as though the allocations in this league are at an all-time low. I could be wide of the mark here but I think there’s a total of 12 clubs who allocate sub-1,500.

what you get this season is what you got last season, again it’s a shame as the away end really should hold more, but it’s probably in the top 10 for away capacity

Obviously you’re in the weird situation where given the amount of STHs you have you’re always going to struggle.

Forest have circa 1,250 tomorrow night, which is every seat in that section, better than I thought - the 919 allocation and tarping for Northampton was only because they didn't need 1.250 then.

just missing cobblers at crewe

4071 was the overall attendance but I haven't seen how many of us were there.
I believe that they did announce a figure over the PA but i couldn't understand it and it's not on either of the Offy sites?

It'll be a new ground for the younger generation and we sold 1800 at Mansfield in the competition last year so wouldn't surprise me.

Edit : I think our last visit was in the same competition live on telly when we lost on pens.
Scabs. Do you Wendy fans not know that you're supposed to boycott this tournament?

Being called a Wendy by a Grimsby pikey is cute, back in your box you slum rat.
Didn't realise Wendy was a pejorative term to be honest. No comment on selling out allocations for that tournament then? Indefensible behaviour that.

It’s not even an insult. Getting upset over that then maybe you shouldn’t be allowed outside.

It's hardly an insult just churlish and childish.

And it is up to those who go, I've not attended a single one and wouldn't.

A lot of our fan base weren’t happy with it either, but if 1800 want to pay a tenner to get in…:

Agree with you though, while there’s B teams in there i wouldn’t watch it if it were on my own front lawn

Mansfield tickets have gone on general sale and there are over 900. Plenty left. My dad and I will be going again - we really enjoyed the day out last time.

Speaking of away followings our local journo said you have requested 2,500 for the Micky mouse trophy game! Do you think you’ll sell them all? If you do you’ll out number us 3 to 1 as we usually get sub 1000 crowds since the change to the format.
Confirmed as 2,560

Fairly sure Wednesday only brought around 600 last time - admittedly, that one was on SKY. Crowd was 3,519.

Ironically, we’ve sold 600 tickets for this one - we usually get around 1,000-2,000 for these pointless fixtures. Even if it was L**ds at home, we’d still sell less than 5,000. No one cares about this competition, in what is a glorified friendly.

Wednesday will no doubt outnumber us and we’ll hear songs all evening about how they’ve got more fans than us. :dk:

If they do sing that video it and post it in the tinpot thread for future reference.

Be nice to see it full again, I imagine yourself, Grimsby and I’d hope Donny will be the only ones to do so this season.

Can’t see why we wouldn’t unless we go on another fuckwit shit show run like last season which doesn’t look likely with this squad

Probably not, but we don't willy wave like some over our away support. :bg:
We have our regulars (circa 400+) who attend the majority, with some more depending on the distance, new ground, weather and/or the train strikes...we might attract a few more if we are doing well, but it doesn't always follow.
