Sensible. £25 is too much for League apart from premium seats. It’s what we charge for the Upper, £22 everywhere else and we are considered expensive. We only have 3k seats to sell match by match though.

How much are the restricted view seats?

Nice to see a reduction to £20 at MK

Our aways so far this season have been Fleetwood, Barrow, Carlisle, Gillingham and then Notts on a fucking Thursday at 8pm when there were no trains which knocked about 1500 off one of our most nailed on bumper followings. A real early season stitch up.

Hold up, we haven't played you at home yet. Although understandably it's easy to think that, given it is the most Tuesday night fixture ever. I see they were having discussions in Parliament today as to modifying the record books to show the date and time of our game the other week as a Tuesday night.

You're right. Maybe it's because you won, I just assumed it was at your place on a Tuesday night. Chesterfield is the other one we've had. Sold out but reduced allocation for another one that'd guaranteed to be 2000+ prior to this season.

How come? Good thing of course but assume a reaction to lower than anticipated crowds?
Yeah exactly that. We averaged 9,500 over a 15 year period between 2007/2008 and 2022-2023. Obviously we spent the majority of that time a league or two higher but we’ve essentially lost 2,000-3,000 off our gates since dropping down here and now averaging about 6,000. We’ve always charged a premium amount tbf so glad it’s come down (formerly £24 pre match day and £26 on the day).

91 Exiles at Valley Parade last night. Fair play to them travelling all that way for a midweek match that was televised too

Agreed.

I don’t think we’d have fetched much more if the fixture was held at Rodney Parade.

We’ve sold out for Salford. Most non-tinpot clubs north of Birmingham seem to. Nice to pay under £20 which helps I guess.

Awful away end though, the bogs usually resemble the English channel and if you happen to stand at the far end it takes a full working day to exit the stadium.

With bogs like that it will be like a home game for us…pre-new owners of course, who have made improvements.

We've finally got a swanky new bogs in the paddock now, the roof caved in they got that bad so we had portaloo's under the scoreboard last season so got to cover our feet in it walk out and have the relegation play out on the scoreboard at us to really rub salt in.

Mind you the loo's at Notts County Saturday were not ideal! One way in and out! Bit cosy.

The concourse is not fit for purpose in that stand, you can see why the max allocation reserved for Mansfield is only 3800 nowadays.

Bit organised, could of just had the full concourse open so the loo's at the bottom end became available maybe, problem with that stand is the road is right behind so guess they had little room to work with.

Pisa poor design no doubt with an immoveable road making things seemingly rather snug in the concourse below.

Thankfully it's been the the away end for ages now and 3800 is more than plenty for all. Plus I've only ever been in the Jimmy Sirrel stand once and that was in 1999 so never experienced it. Far plusher and roomier in the big Derek Pavis stand opposite.

Recall when we used to visit the away end was the big one behind the goal, decent that one but seems madness now you've made that into a "kop"

If you think that’s little room you should see what we are working with for the Bishop street stand!

Crewe is probably the tightest, the long one down the side, that only has one entry and exit!

That has always traditionally been the Spion Kop. When I first started going to Notts it was a terraced kop split half and half between home (sparsely filled) and away fans (pretty full) underneath a beautiful old fashioned scoreboard. The half time reveal of scores up and down the country using the match day programme was a joy to behold.

It was given to away fans because we were in the 2nd tier and as a result the away followings were often huge so wanted to cash in.

Then once we fell down the leagues there were strong calls to swap home fans to the Kop form the Jimmy Sirrel. I was actually against it as I thought it would look daft with such few numbers in there back then but the acoustics are far superior in there.

Thankfully it happened and now as you will have seen we make that stand and the the one of opposite the away end impressively pretty full. The swap certainly has helped with the overall atmosphere at the Lane.

First couple of times I went to Meadow Lane it was in the Kop. First time we had a couple of thousand in there - second about 150 :D

My first ever Vale game was in the Kop, being from the East Midlands... was meant to be played in the November but Meadow Lane flooded so was played on an equally wet March night, late 1-0 win Stevie Brooker in 2001.

Tight concourses are a bit potentially dangerous but they're also great fun for pre-match and half time atmos. Selhurst Park is ridiculous for that considering how many can get in that stand. The stewards lost control when we went there in the FA Cup about 5 or so years ago. People just taking their beers to their seats unchallenged which is great, but also probably quite fortunate that there weren't any incidents.

Pretty sure they did that one year we went there with all the loos open.

Somewhat tinpottedly it turns out we haven’t sold out, although we are well above the true tinpot threshold having sold 1000+ according to GTFC.

Someone on the Fishy claimed we had sold out; knowing the bollox that often appears on the Fishy I needed verification, and indeed both seats and standing were greyed out on the GTFC site, thats my excuse anyway.

I did see that and was mildly amused.

Walsall should bring a decent following to us the next weekend surely , I wonder how many they have sold ?

We’ve shifted around 600 for the trip to Wimbledon tomorrow. Not too shabby given our form.

Alfie I thought you might be interested in this. My reply lists attendances as a percentage of capacity.

Rider - different websites show different capacities so I've tried to be consistent in my search terms.
I don't get why they do this after 5 games maybe after half a season but it seems a bit early for me , Tranmere and Swindons will be lower than ours after 10- 15 games I suspect - can they not do it based on actual home fans without away included I think that would be more interesting

From our OS:

TICKETS

Over 1,900 of you will be at Prenton Park this afternoon to cheer on the Bantams.

Please note there will be no ticket sales on the day”

Weird, could’ve sworn we were only given 1,700.
