Over 600 sold for Morecambe on Saturday, was only 400 Monday afternoon though, so again they seem to be selling quickly in the week of the game. Should be somewhere between 800-1000 I'd guess come Saturday.

What tends to be the max allocation at Walsall these days? We've sold out our initial allocation of 614 but myself and a number of others have had to wait for plans to firm up before getting tickets, so hoping for a decent number if we are forced to wait until Saturday.

About 2200 isn't it? We took that last time.

Absolutely no need to panic then you'd hope!

I know some clubs limit it to a certain section if you're not expecting to sell it all out so that was the question really. Basically just hoping that the next allocation isn't something silly like 100

That 100 though would probably do us for the rearranged fixtures at Barrow, Fleetwood and Carlisle…combined. Nice to have 3 games postponed which all happen to be your longest trips of the season. God hates us (we don’t care).

Probably was, as we’ve just announced we’ve sold out all tickets in advance. So presumably Walsall only gave us another 100 on top of the 614 originally. Now only pay on the day with a £2 price increase. Still, should be a decent following of 800ish so about the same as Walsall brought to us.

A 90 minute journey?? 800? Poor for a big club pushing for promotion

We've sold over 800 for Morecambe on Saturday, another day of sales today, plus pay on the day should see around 1000 going up there tomorrow.

We’ve sold out for Carlisle tomorrow. We could fetch another 1,000+ but there’s concerns at the Carlisle end that we may outnumber home support, so the decision to not give us the terrace behind the goal is solely based on that.

We're mid table though so what you're actually saying is it's a fantastic following from a proper football club.

Thank you! Much appreciated!

Would have thought your owners would expect the fans get behind the club after they’ve done their bit

I think almost doubling our average away attendance is getting behind the club myself, but I also don't have unrealistic opinions about our club size based on a stadium size that we needed to build, nor do I actually care that much about how many fans a club brings (unless it's AFC to ours because their 'boycotts' where they turn up in their thousands are funny)

Yeah exactly, 11th. The lowest we’ve ever finished is 4th in League Two. This is our worst ever season so taking 800ish to Walsall is pretty decent :box:

This is true. Our away support has improved a lot over the last few years even if it’s hard for others to see because it’s still not amazing. When we used to regularly compete at the top end of League One we’d get worse followings than we do now (I remember being in a crowd of 500ish at Walsall in one of our play-off seasons) so to take 800ish while 11th in L2, for us, is very good. Bodes well for if and when we end up in L1 and the Championship again. Just a shame our home support has gone the other direction (our fans have grown up and realised the away days are where it’s at, not our soulless bowl).

That said, I remember the Sheffield Wednesday fan doing the amount taken away as a % of the home attendance and ours was always the lowest (maybe 4-5% when we were getting home crowds of 10,000+) and we’d get lamented for it whereas ironically now our away support has increased and home support decreased, we’d be praised for taking like 7-10% of our home support away regularly. Then again, it was all a geeky illogical measure of dick waving anyway.

We've sold out for Chesterfield next week. I'm assuming that Chesterfield must be looking to increase the capacity of the ground? I guess at the time they moved, just over 10k seemed more than enough but with increased attendances, 1k for away supporters is a pretty pitiful offering. I get that the club wants to accommodate as many home supporters as possible but you can't be offering that allowance to some of the clubs in league 1. I presume that expansion is in the long term plans, otherwise you're missing out massively financially as you move up the leagues. I think we offer something like 3,600 for example.

Although the just over 500 offering from Bromley is dreadful as a league club.

That's about 10% of their ground capacity right?

Attendances for clubs such as Chesterfield have indeed moved on due to their recent success in NL. Their away capacity and overall capacity now looks insufficient especially if they hope to progress up the leagues.

I can only assume their stadium was designed to be easily extended if necessary, is that the case?
