Orient knocking on the door, seems a matter of time at the moment. We’ve been working hard, passing has been poor when we’ve had the rare sight of a break. It’ll be more of the same from us and hang on in there as long as possible. First move away from 442 in a long long time, going with 5 man midfield. Guess a nod to Orient putting a few past us on their patch in recent times and circumstances of Wilson being injured.

Just been across the fields with the dogs!! its positively balmy down here.
BBC hasn't as +5 here but my pond is still frozen over and we still have an ice rink where the road used to be.

It's not like a news channel to tell us lies....?

Weird old game here. Sutton are a really, really athletic Sunday League side. All lump it to the corners and make your way up the pitch with throw-ins. Manager has to tell them all where to stand at every set piece. Very odd. Pretty sure they’re going to shithouse it 1-0.

Swindon look like absolute world beaters

until it comes to taking the final shot.

It could end up biting them in the arse this afternoon if they don’t get the 2nd goal.

15 shots, 7 on target, to Barra's 4 and 0.

All the makings of a 1-1

Awful goals conceded, shame really as Orient haven’t put a decent move together to win it.

Oh they’re proper roy of the rovers non league standard, but they’re effective at what they do.

Big sunday league cloggers - like the league 2 burnley under dyche

2nd half a torrential downpour evened it up but we still created and either missed or didn’t get a shot away to kill it off. For some reason Barrow stood off us all game. Pleasantly surprised for a resilient performance that has somehow left us in 4th - albeit playing a game more.

Didn't deserve anything from that game. As I said earlier we should've been killed off way before full time.

Still yet to gain a point from a losing position, hence having the solitary league draw all season. Still think we are a mid table outfit in the dizzy heights of 6th at Christmas. Following the pattern of the season at the moment with a run of wins followed by a run of losses.

Lost all of them, haven't played Carlisle except the Papa John's which is irrelevant. Bradford are the highest ranked team we've beaten.

Thought we deserved the win overall, in terms of chances and overall play we was the better side.

Literally I don't think Sutton had a proper shot on goal all game, Vigs collected a few crosses and that was all he ended up doing. They looked a threat at set plays and nearly caught us on the break a few times, but no shots were taken on goal.

Saying that Suttons plan worked well for most of the game and it took a bit of Paul Smyth magic (which we need in games like that) and a bit of a lucky own goal to get us over the line.

Important win with Stevenage up next and with only one other game on, a fixture pile up isn't what we want.

We're slow to start games, but once we take the lead we manage games very well. Our squad depth showed its strength today as well. No George Moncur, Darren Pratley off injured, Idris El Mizouni had to come off on a booking and the players that come in when they have to in Aaron Drinan, Rob Hunt and Craig Clay slot in and perform what they need to do.

We also haven’t beat anyone in the top 7.

Lost to Orient and Stevenage, drew with Mansfield and Swindon, haven’t played Northampton yet but go there on Tuesday which I expect will end in defeat. And as mentioned above lost to Barrow in the pizza trophy but haven’t played them in the league.

Highest side we’ve beaten is Salford in 9th.

I think both Barrow and Carlisle are in false positions and will drop into mid table before long, but I would have taken that all day if offered to me back in august.

Didn’t look too interested in attacking today, which is unlike us. Never seen us set up for a point like that before. Would love to see Ajiboye back on loan in January to give us some of last season’s threat back. We did shut Orient out pretty well generally but mistake to let the guy score the good first and then a calamity 2nd. We never looked like recovering from 1-0. Professional job by Orient - they’re as good as up automatically now you’d think.

tbh you’d had beaten us if you had someone decent uptop, thankfully you had that fraud dennis upfront…..

I don’t think there’s any reason to suggest you’re going to fall away anymore than a mansfield for instance.

We’ve been pretty crap all season, not played with a decent forward for most of it and have played a forward as a central defender. How the fuck were 5th is well beyond me.

He’s the best a club like Carlisle can afford. When you’re 92nd choice of league club for most players, obviously you’re going to end up with the players no one else wants. All part of the football food chain.

Thankfully he’s scored 12 in 21 for us so far this season, so that’s decent enough (for us).

Whenever I've seen Dennis's name crop up he seems to be in amongst the goals even in some sides that have eventually been relegated. Surely there's a lot worse out there.

That’s exactly why i like him so much, he’s been in sides where chesterfield and notts county have been relegated.

Beware carlisle, though seemingly a few of them would somehow seem to get off if they went down

When we signed him last season when second bottom of the league I thought with his record it was the final nail in our coffin. But as I say he’s been decent enough by our standards and we’re absolutely not going down this season, so no worries there.

And I don’t think a single Carlisle fan would be happy about being relegated.

Orient are the best team by a mile, will be interesting to see if they can hang onto El Mizouni. If you'd have told me that he'd go on to be one of the best at this level when we had him, I'd have laughed in your face. If they can get through Jan with the current squad intact then they'll surely win the division at a canter. They have the ability to switch it on and grind it out, solid all over, dangerous up top and with a proven manager at this level.

Over 50 points before Xmas. Mind-blowing stuff.

Look very well placed to surpass our 99 points from 2015/6 under Wilder. Would take a spectacular collapse not to go up from here, and I can’t see it happening.

But i don’t get sometimes the attitude though, if you’re up in the playoffs and clearly not going down hopefully you could push on and see what you can achieve.

It’s not a good quality league this year, i think
most have a chance.

I think anyone down to Crewe probably think they have a chance of making the play offs. The quality in league 2 isn't great. I certainly think my club Wimbledon have a chance if we pick up a couple of player's in Jan and don't get injuries to key player's.

It would have been Justin's 53rd birthday today! i think he will be looking down at you with a big smile on his face, then he would turn and look at us and think what the fuck went wrong there.
Happy heavenly birthday Justin! rest in eternal peace.

Agree about the quality - or lack thereof. We have mostly been pants but are fourth. Badly hit by injuries like a few clubs - think we had 5 or 6 out yesterday. Desperately need a striker who can actually finish - still talk about Charlie Austin filling that role. We have a paperweight midfield who are easily bullied although good technically. Josh Umerah would do well for us I reckon.
