5 million is far more than us and we have been accused of being the big boys in the league.

Vince always maintained that the only way we could become sustainable was if we got into league 2. Seems he was right. In profit so far this year too apparently.

Is that proven, though?
No, it can't, but I don't think it takes too much working out given that Ecotricity is plastered all over the shirts and ground.

Even forgetting that, and assuming I'm incorrect in that respect, Vince bought £650k of shares in the year so that's why there was a profit.

FWIW, I've always given Vince a bit of a pat on the back for buying shares in the Club rather than loaning it money like other owners do, although I suspect it's done that way for the benefit of Ecotricity's finances. Although it looks like he still gets money in via 'normal' means i.e. sponsorship and advertising.

There’s some sort of block to loaning money now though in regards to the 55% turnover rule I think.

As Dippy Don said the last time we played MK Dons Matt Harrold spent a lot of the game in goal after Brian Jenson was sent off. Probably Matt's best ever game for Crawley. A certain Deli Ali equalised and in the way he did it convinced me he was destined for bigger clubs. Cool and calm when everyone else was hot and frantic. He lifted his head and passed the ball into the corner of the net.

I hated him for that!

We've been playing well against the good sides at home and I would expect a bounce back from the horror show at Tranmere but for the life of me I cannot see us getting a win. I will hope for a 2-2 draw.

I will be absent having to work (I hate shift work but until I win the lottery...) but I'm sure a big welcome back will be given to Joe Walsh. A very good defender for us and one who always seemed a good bloke too.

Sale of shares doesn’t hit the profit and loss account so Vince’s increase in shares had no impact on profit at all. It would increase equity, yes, but not profit.

Away to Colchester. Bored already just by posting that on a forum. It’s fairly
Local to me but there are probably 100 things I’d rather do than go to Essex tomorrow, including weeding the garden and chatting to the insane old woman next door.

We're at home to Mansfield today.

If last Saturday was anything to go by, I'd probably get more entertainment out of my 8 year old's training session this morning.

Didn’t quite realise how poor of a run Cheltenham are on. Perfect opportunity to record our first back to back victory’s today, although we never seem to do well at Cheltenham.

We are unbeaten away but mostly been draws so I’ll take a victory by any means today!

We had a good result in the week, playing 3-5-2 for the first time, something a few of us have been crying out for since the start of the season, but it's easy to forget that the 6-2 win was against Arsenal's kids who also had a player sent off in the 7th minute.

We simply have to start winning at home though and I have to have the belief that our form is going to change at some point, so why not today.

I'm not feeling very confident for some reason, a tad nervous too - every time we have won so far this season we have not got the result the next game, this is the perfect chance but i'm fearing another draw.

To be fair we are not going to be unbeaten all season away from home either, but I'd go for it today like we did against Crewe.

Mansfield, Northampton and BTTS in the Lincoln games today at around even money (for each bet) looks like value to me.

What a terrible starting line up by Phil Brown. Cowardly. Colchester should fill their boots today.

Perfect start again by Mansfield again, Walker with a brilliant header 10 yard out.

Pegged back already 1-1, uncharacteristically poor defending from a corner.

Unsurprisingly losing as we suddenly have no players. Plummeting out of the promotion race as we speak

Cheltenham deservedly lead 2-1, this time with a bit of out of character poor goalkeeping.

We do not like playing at Cheltenham, not at the races at all.

1-0 down. Defence decides to leave Their best player unmarked on the stroke of half time and szmodics doesn’t waste the chance.

We have still done nothing of note, this one of those games where a point is acceptable at this point although we don't look like we have a goal in us atm.

Worst performance of the season but we managed to get a draw, I'll take that..

We just didn't get it down and play it like we usually do, were not at the races at all and Cheltenham performed pretty well.

Predictable defeat to Colchester.

Patience wearing very thin with our manager.
He patently isn’t good enough, Bob. Problem is, I don’t think Power really cares as long as we don’t go down. It’s L1 all over again - hoping we’ll limp along.

The whole structure needs changing. Fat chance.

Yeah I agree. I can only see us plodding along in L2 for season after season. We are making no progress at all, in fact we are going backwards! The football we play is full; atmosphere at home is terrible and we are now 16th in League 2. At the moment I’m finding it very difficult to warrant paying £23 for a ticket as well as £40 odd quid for train tickets. If it wasn’t for my dad I don’t think I’d bother going to football any more, it’s just not enjoyable at all.

This is why I decided Mansfield are not mid-table fodder like Swindon, I mean we are far from perfect but much better than what you describe here.

Cheltenham were dross, relegation fodder. We somehow managed to make them look good, we were suckered down to their level and very lucky to get a point, only shot of the 2nd half.

It’s a concerning performance but also encouraging that after so many late goals against us when we should have won - Colchester, Cambridge, Bury - we’ve got one back when we don’t deserve it.

Unbeaten run continues.
