Lincoln and MK Dons might as well be promoted right now, no way either of those two will blow up, then it’s pretty much one from about 10 teams for 3rd place so should be quite exciting at the end of the season.
As for us I wish we could play those first 10 games of the season again, we now look like scoring goals every game and have picked up 16 from the last 18 at home, probably too late this season for anything other than mid table but I’m already fancying us for top 10 next season, Jolleys building something good here and im looking forward to the ride.

It’s typical Vale isn’t it? Always do shit against the bottom clubs! Manny isn’t on it we aren’t.

That said we had the chance to make it 2-0 just before their equaliser which probably changes the game.

Being honest Darren I don’t like this new formation at home, it’s way too negative and allows opponents to have much more of the ball. What has happened to Ben? Playing well and now not featured in a month!

To be fair - whilst our league position is poor, we're 5th in the form table (last 6 games) with 11 points from our last 6 games, our only defeat at a rampant Bury. As of last week we had doubled our points tally in 5 games from the previous 15.

That being said, even though it's gutting to concede having gone ahead in the last minute of the game, I would have snatched your hand off for a point before the game.

To be fair you played some good stuff, the right winger was excellent for you.

Lot of mitigating factors, but slightly surprised at the gate at Vale - seemed unusually low?

Ryan Broom - he's been an excellent signing and should be on for player of the year this year.

We've settled into the 3-5-2 formation now and I think we can start looking up rather than down now - that being said, football can be a very cruel game and a bad result against Swindon next week could see us in the bottom 2 for Christmas.

Lowest on a Saturday for a league tie in 20 yers I believe. Probably take over 50% of that gate to Macc Town next week.

Not sure why it was so low though, weather, pre Xmas and fans complaining of being bored (despite scoring 11 in 4 games!)

I've been going for 47 years and a mixture of apathy, shit weather and awful negative tactics stopped me from going.
Fairweather I Know but I don't enjoy it at all.
Next week I'm going to Macc where 8 pints will numb the cold and gloss over how shit we are

Highlight of the second half was when O'Connor chipped the ball over Ellison, he proper lost it :bg:

Well done the Macc lads.

We are very poor at the moment. Having the first choice defence, midfield and attack all missing does that to a team but you can only beat what's in front of you.

We have the greatest mind in football. We'd have beaten you anyway.
Has Sol said anything yet about how your form has turned around? I'm thinking back to Graham Kavanagh, when he took over as manager, his first managerial role. He won his first three games, but in the end we got relegated and he got sacked, and he admitted later that after three games he thought he had this management lark cracked.

To be fair to him he seems very grounded.

Reckon he'll big himself up when the seasons over if we stay up.

Carlisle at home on Saturday. They just beat a good Colchester side 3-0, we just lost to Macclesfield.

Palmer, Morais, Smith, Connelly and Vincelot not expected to play

By the gods of football we can win this! :-)

*ahem* 4-0 I think you'll find!

Don't worry though, we lost to Macclesfield before it became the latest trend.

If you don't you need to have a strong word with yourselves.

What has happened to your lot, at the start of the season you were flying and destroying promotion contenders like Newport away from home.

Our manager has and still is happening, that's the problem.

He got lucky with a (and I still believe this is the case) good squad of players who clicked at the start of the season, however as soon as we had a few injuries and suspensions we fell away as he doesn't have the nous to cope with a Plan B.

Fair enough but I'd still have Stockley over Norwood just because of the work he does in defence. His workrate is incredible.
Norwood's workrate is actually second to none. On Monday night he was still closing down by our own corner flag in the 94th minute, despite playing twice in three days.

I am obviously biased, but I would say Nors has more chance of playing at a higher level because of his movement and pace.

As someone has said on our forum, and I didn't notice, Bostwick's done well to get on the bench as a CM when he's probably only had 20 minutes in there this season!

You get a handful of these this time of year but a stat based L2 Team of the Season so far.

http://d3d4football.com/instat-index-league-two-team-of-the-season-so-far/

I would really question the stats used to decide this team, especially when you look at the players who apparently just missed out.

We have the best defence in the entire EFL (not just L2) yet not a single one of our defenders are included. Lewington also has the joint most assists for a defender in the EFL. They didn't even make the 'just missed out' list.

It's certainly odd that one of the two runaway promotion contenders, MK Dons, only managed to get a striker into the team (and according to the text, only just) and then one on the bench. It's all based around some highly complicated proprietary player assessment system, no doubt with lots of closely guarded secrets used to come up with the numbers.

It looks like it's a tool sold to football clubs to assess their players and so I imagine it tries to rate players purely on their own attributes and not on how they work as a team, and is probably not the best way to come up with a team of the year.
