Hard to know what to make of Stevenage tomorrow. On the one hand, they are almost certainly going to be a mid-table side and we need to be beating teams like that at home if we want to avoid a nervy 2nd half to the season. But they did get a decent win at Colchester and have shown they can compete with the best teams when they want to.
Stevenage looked ok, but they played entirely on the break... which is fair enough, as we let them have a two-goal cushion and therefore allowed them something to hold on to. Where we lacked any tempo to our play the other day, they looked fairly pacy on the break and clearly had something about them.
That said, they only managed one shot on target, the first goal was an unfortunate own goal off the goalkeeper's back, the second looked like a clear foul and, on another day, we would still have won having gone on to hit the post, have one ruled out for offside and a number of other near misses. Those misses weren't particularly glaring chances though, we struggled to break through a solid line so they're clearly quite well organised, too.
