I thought the first half was fairly even, Rovers having more goal attempts, but Stevenage getting a lot of possession in the middle of the park. Second half, Rovers on top and deserved the win.

Stevenage had a lot of big lads in their line up and capable of winning ugly on other days. The first challenge on Nelson looked like a fair body charge, but thought Guthrie could have been booked for the incident which saw the end of Nelson. Think Nugent’s first booking was for protesting Morris’ goal, still unsure if grounds for complaint. Think he was involved in the incident with Norwood, where the ref opted to just warn both, but when he took Jennings out from behind a second yellow was inevitable. The straight red for leading with an elbow looked right at first glance. I didn’t think Stevenage were that cynical generally tbh.

What have I done now? Not sure can face another cyber battering from all the Stags fans on here :sur:

Aha a wise decision mate, it is after all YEAR OF THE STAG.

Your assistant got told of more than the Cowleys today! It was obvious early on what they were up to.

Curle obviously had a pre-meditated plan to try and counteract your boys nonsense

Predictably the Stevenage manager blamed your coaching staff for having a go at the officials when the teams line ups went in!

Them claimed you were trying to clearly con the ref etc.
Maamria is an embarrassment to be honest. He was red carded himself in addition to three of his players (one in the tunnel after the game).

Stevenage did not seem particularly dirty per se, but the game was interspersed with random acts of violence from their players.

Yep the NTFC players arms were both above his head so a stonewall peno but having said that, we were yet again poor. Can't remember the last time we we're decent at SB, Morecambe first half?

Dropping two points when not playing well AGAIN yet we stretch the lead above Mansfield and keep the gap to fourth to 9 so all in not a disaster.

Another frustrating game really. Very happy with a point considering we were down to 10 for most of the game, but before that happened we were in complete control. Red looked a red and a very rash challenge from Anderson. Couldn't really tell it was 10 versus 11 as Northampton seemed happy with a point. Poor goal for us to give away on the stroke of half time. School boy defending meant that we had a 1 versus 2 on the corner and they worked it well. Think had Anderson been on the pitch he'd be the extra man going to cover it, but we were very poorly organised.

As for the handball at the end, how was that not given? Arm outstretched above his head. Baffling decision, or maybe not when you look at how poor the refereeing standard is in this league.

Bit harsh that. Before we had a man sent off we were in complete control and even after that matched Northampton.

Haven’t seen the game only heard from a couple how it went and nothing is dissuading my view that the January window was another unmitigated disaster for us. Not one of the loanees making the squad is somewhat disconcerting to say the least.

According to Askey they are all only used to academy football and the game would of passed them by.

Funnily enough the games have been passing the likes of Joyce, Kay, Rawlinson by all fucking season so surely they can't be any worse ?
We are in shit street and the overwhelming player of the season is the keeper. Without him we'd be bottom

What was amazing was that Stevenage didn't have more reds.. the punch on Norwood and the elbow that broke Sid Nelsons nose.

Lost Freck as well just before the sending off (how was that not a foul on him in the first minute, btw?). No Bostwick either who's been an ever present since he joined. I think today was the first game he's missed through injury?

Bog standard 4th division fare at Prenton first half today with the only highlights being Tranmere’s stoppage time goal and Dino Maamria’s half time tantrum.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd half with Tranmere playing nice expansive football. Stevenage 2nd best in every position.
See Dino Maamria is building Stevenage in his own image, he was one dirty @#£&* when he was a player.

Colin Calderwood is working miracles with this squad that now see's us sitting top of the form table over the last 5 games. Who would have seen that coming in December?

Keep us up and clear the decks in the summer and I think CC can work wonders in the transfer window cover the summer to see us kick on.

Yeah first league game I think Bostwick has ever missed through injury missed a couple suspended.
Freck was assaulted and from angle the ref was looking at it.
Missed multiple shirt pulls on Akinde, Bolger flattened at least twice and the handballs including the blatant one at the end.
Seemed determined not to seen to be influenced by the home crowd.
Definite red card saw the pic of the Northampton's player leg, ouch naughty Harry.
Seriously question was happened to mkd?

Lincoln have been putting in challenges like Anderson’s on a weekly basis lately, the biggest surprise is that it’s taken this long for one to get punished.

We didn’t do enough to win yesterday but apperantly our penalty appeal in the 83rd minute was a banker (didn’t look like it at the time) and the tackle early on to Walker was horrendous, the twat of a referee didn’t even give a foul despite being a potential leg breaker.

Danny Rose has got fractures somewhere in his face, missing tooth and probably a concussion to boot but that was a accidental clash to be fair.

We didn’t even get a free kick for the elbow that broke Sid Nelsons nose so you’re in good company there.

Cambridge, Port Vale and Notts County next 3 games for us. 3 wins there probably drags us back into it before a very tough run of games in March

Not true Ellis Chapman got sent off for similar against Cambridge back in October, almost the same spot on the pitch.
Refs are hopeless that's the problem.

2nd and 3rd Colchester goals had absolutely superb runs in them. The Szmodics assist for their 2nd the week before was great too.

Oldham were flattered to win by three goals at Crawley but they did just about deserve to win. Could have been different if Palmer had scored from the lob on the keeper and Camars's shot hadn't been so we'll saved when it was 0-0 but there again Oldham had other chances too.

I despair over Lewis Young. Time after time he gets into good crossing positions only to cut back infield. It's not like we have a 6'7 inch striker.... ahh. The problem then becomes the 6'7" striker stops making runs because the cross never comes and lo and behold he puts one in. Nobody there!

Thought your side were doing quite well recently. Very surprised to find out that you are now watching Lincoln instead of your own team.

They looked incredibly good going forwards for the first half against us at their place. Considering how poor we've been in the full-back positions defensively recently, next Saturday could get messy.

"People said they would have one eye on City but I simply laughed at them and said they are up against the L2 City this weekend. I knew they would hardly be getting any sleep the night before the famous Stags of Mansfield rolled into town. They'll be buzzing to face such opposition and you just know they'll be well up for it. I just hope that a) Mansfield take it easy on them and b) that they learn something from what will undoubtedly be a once in a lifetime experience."

Given that one was against my own team and another was on TV I’ve been lucky enough to keep track.

Great win at Franchise on Saturday. Their large pitch seems to suit the way we play and with Woolery, Anderson and Robinson injecting pace, and Doughty back to his best form, we sounded like we pulled off a fully deserved victory.

2 long range belters from Hesketh for Franchise and Anderson for us, before a Doughty Panenka penalty saw us take the 3 points.

As Big Bird states, 3 home games in a row. Our home form has been atrocious for 3 seasons now so if we are to do anything this season then we need to take at least 7 points. I am still under the belief that we are building more for next season and we just need to end this one as positively as possible.
