Maybe you are right.

But he's still a twat, I mean just look at how hard he tries to make himself look intelligent and trendy by putting on those big black specs and wearing a suit he probably bought from Matalan in the sales.

He's a fraud.

I think he wears the specs to help his vision

YES fantastic take here. I have heard the specs are just normal glass and he doesn't actually need to wear them.

We are shocking, being schooled by the team at the bottom of the league. Playing 4-4-2 with no wingers. How Gibson has been dropped pushing Hendrie to the left I've no idea. And god knows what Green has on Jolley to get a start ahead of Ogbu and Rose I've no idea.

Second best to every ball, as soon as we get in their half we don't know what to do other than lump it into the box and hope, don't think we even had a shot, certainly not one to trouble Stevenage.

Beat top of the league away, two weeks later lose at bottom of the league, welcome to the fucked up world of being a GTFC supporter.

Don't know about that. If you take a closer look at this photo of Artell then you can see they're real glasses.

Well if Jolley starts Green and Whitehouse next game I'll start to question if he is the man to take us forward. Don't think it's any coincidence that we dominate Exeter and look a decent side for first 30 mins against Mansfield and last 10 against Stevenage all without Green yet the rest of the time he's on the pitch were lucky if we even have a shot.

Rose and Ogbu both better players and I think both are average for this league. Ogbu can hold the ball up and occasionally pick out a town player, Rose has pace and can run with the ball. Green I just don't know what he brings apart from the occasional goal, which you'd be happy with if he did it more often, but what has he got, 3 so far?

God knows why Gibson was dropped been our best player for the last month, and dropping him means moving Hendrie to the left were he is ineffective.

We were awful today until the last 15 mins when Rose came on and we were awful last week as soon as Wright went off and we were excellent against Exeter. All three times we played with pace and passed the ball about, when we are rubbish we resort to hoofing the ball up and because opponents have worked out if they mark Hanson out of the game all we have left is Green who can't even win headers, hold the ball up or pass to a town player, all of which Hanson can.

Both Cook and Robson are better than Whitehouse, so if playing 3 then Whitehouse shouldn't be starting and if they are Whitehouse isn't a winger so stop trying to fit him in the side for no reason.

Strange game that. We've played so much better this season and lost yet we won 3-0. We do owe a lot to Charlie Goode being Charlie Goode though.

Oliver's red didn't really look a red as he was going for the ball but no clue if it was late or over the ball.

Right in front of us, 50/50 ball and Oliver kicked the ball into your keepers face, no idea where all the blood came from.
Kettle wasn't sure but it looked like the linesman said that he had two footed him. Never in a million years.

First half all us. Law should have put the game to bed. Second half FGR were the better side. Needed a great save from Maxted to win that.
Not bothered about not being top. Where did Bradford come from?

5 wins in 7, new team finally starting to gel. Still not playing great a lot of the time, still think we’ll improve far more. Play like we did at times against Swindon on a regular basis and I think we’d piss the league tbh, didn’t realise just how poor it was gunna be. We’ve thrown 6 points away from missing sitters/conceding stupid goals against Forest Green, Cheltenham and Scunthorpe as well.

Handing a team their first loss of the season before handing a team their first win. That's us

Had a really bad feeling when I saw the lineup. 4 central midfielders wasn't going to work. Why can't Vernam get a sniff when we need some trickery and attacking intent on the ball? He's the closest thing we've got to a winger whilst Wright is out.

Seen enough of Whitehouse to recognise how little he offers sadly. Don't know if he's a lesser player after his injury but he's not quick or snappy enough to be in the engine room and he doesn't do enough going forward. You can see Green has a bit of quality at least but nothing is clicking. Hanson is a brilliant asset to have at this level but I'd like to see us try something else and have him as an option from the bench.

Jolley will hopefully know we need some serious width going forward in January. We need to involve Rose and Vernam a lot more until then.

First win in five for Crawley. We keep on conceding first and it concerns me... actually we keep conceding. Our defence always seems to give the opposition a chance. Still winning by the odd goal in three is more fun than a 1-0.

We've sent a few midfielders out on loan and whenyou read the players in the side you do question if the right players have left.

Still, just outside the play offs is fine by me.

We are hilariously poor at the back and fun going forward. Plus çe change. Walsall a far better side than their league position suggests, though their cretinous fans clapped and cheered when their best player on the day (Holden) got substituted. Odd bunch. Threw a flare in a wooden stand as well, the cockends.

Took off from Prague airport 1-0 down, landed to a 3-1 win.

Looks like Joe Widdowsons first goal for ten years gave everyone a lift - the one game I miss and he scores!! We keep scoring goals, but still clumsy as hell at the back.

New Manager coming soon.

The match were anging, and they're still very non-league, but how many clubs in this league have outside fences with an embedded club crest like Salford?

I'd love to say fur coat no knickers, but they beat us, so sod the metaphor.

You don't want Jim on the bench. You want wide men who can send him crosses to meet rather than him having to feed off deep or diagonal balls.

Completely agree but we don't have them at the minute and our best performance(s) have arguably been without him. Until we sign some wingers he's practically worthless in this team.

Decent first half performance from us and 3 well taken goals. Second half was back to our normal state, very poor. Cobblers'defence was awful.
Red card looked harsh, but then it was Trevor Kettle reffing.

I think Ogbu and wright/Rose either side of Hanson will work fine, you have Ogbu who can have the ball played into feet and Rose/Wright who can run with the ball, run in behind.

At the minute teams have worked out that if they mark Hanson we have nothing when Green is next to him. They can't mark Hanson out of the game and stop the pace of Rose/Wright or strength of Ogbu.

It's annoying that Hewitt and Hendrie are our best crossers of the ball. Could be worth re-visiting the dreaded wing backs as an option but then we're probably writing off a big chunk of the season re-adjusting.

I was looking at the upcoming fixtures and a little acca.

Exeter (A v Camb)
Newport (H v Scunny)
Col U (H v Morecambe)
Macc DC, aka not to lose, at Oldham.

Works out at 11/1. I might add Crewe/Swindon BTTS as well, or perhaps Plymouth to beat Carlisle but they have often let me down in the past so I dunno.

What do you think chaps?

Selections seem decent to me but four outcomes are hard enough at this level so I wouldn't chuck an extra one in there.

Actually, I'd be wary of Cambridge v Exeter. Cambridge due a win and have been playing alright it seems.

That's just how Whitehouse is. I'm guessing he'll have popped up with a couple of second ball set piece goals by now because he was always in and around it with us when he played. He's not terrible by any stretch but I suppose it depends what you already have and are expecting from your midfield. He's certainly not going to play through balls or dribbled past players or offer any creativity.

Green went through the same stage around this time of the season a couple of years ago here. Went 15 or so without scoring and nothing was really coming off for him but not through a lack of effort or work rate.

Always very wary of including away teams in accas, although I lost out on £500 when Wolves won 2-0 at Man City last week so even home bankers can fuck you up. So would leave Exeter out tbh, although you know your own side better. I'd have it down as a draw.

Crewe v Swindon BTTS looks a better bet, I'd include that alongside the other 3.
