Well we signed Aasgaard over night then. Impressed with him as a player individually but not sure of the fit here. Doesnt also seem to fit with the Naismith signing either because he was always best as a LCB in a back 3, and if we are going to a back 3 again, the need for a winger/attacking midfield type is very much less. We tried it with Chong and it’s never worked in that shape. Can’t quite see the plan there at the moment - will be interested to see how Bloomfield looks to puzzle it together

Be interested to see how much that costs if it happens. As close to a “Ross Barkley” replacement as you’re likely to get at championship level - always been very impressed with him. We would never be on the picture now I don’t think with our current position but in the summer he’s one we could/should have kicked the tyres on.

Kian Best gone from England U19s and being around our first 11, to going on loan to Bohemians in Ireland. Supposedly has a stinking attitude and his fitness is crap. What a waste if he ends up not making it.

Few rumours that Tom Krauss is heading back to Germany with his loan cut short.

Not quite sure what to make of him, I think he’s a decent player in a bad situation, one of the biggest issues of the season has been that balance in midfield. He has individually done ok at times but it’s clearly not working in there on a collective level and therefore him going provides a spot for some freshening up

Getting a keeper in it seems.

Just need a left back , central midfielder and striker too .

Don’t think Udinese can give us all 4!

Close to signing Cohen Brammell from Rotherham. Not going to play much, but back for Ogivile at LB. Also trying to do a deal with Sunderland to sign Adil Aouchiche? Was a potential teenage prodigy at PSG. Never really worked out. Sunderland fans seem split on him as when he's played he's done well, but unable to force his way in to the squad. Looks like he's out competition for the number 10 place. Just need another winger and maybe a creative central midfielder especially if Moxon is potentially being loaned out

Krauss gone back to Germany. I thought he was ok and the fact it’s kind of failed is likely more due to us than it is him, but you could sort of see his frustrations mounting.

Midfield has been the problem area for us and I wonder if we will be in for another midfield player with him going or we see Fanne as the answer there now.

Stuart Armstrong close to being done apparently, will offer some cracking cover in midfield for the rest of the season, now just a LB, LCB and a striker......

Luton Town have made a fourth bid for Richard Kone - an initial £4M plus £3M in add ons. This'll likely be rejected as well.

They've also had an €8M bid for Willem Geubbels rejected by St Gallen.

After being incredibly prudent for many years, we're now throwing money around like confetti.

Allan Campbell has joined Dundee United. We are now down to 43 professional footballers on our books.

As an aside, I've been doing some sums. This is likely by far the second most expensive squad in our history. What I think our budget is (not exact numbers), based on hunch, the market and their likely wages before they joined us, as it stands:

£26M - wages, bonuses, NI (not including the slight increase in Apr 2025). [£31M in 2023/24]
£1.25M - agents fees [£1.8M]
£20M - transfer fees [£23M]
£47.5M - playing budget 2024/25 [£56M]

That must be a top 4 budget, if not higher. That will exceed £50M if we bring in Kone or Geubbels.

Future transfer commitments: £7.75M. [£7.5M]

43 players and yet it’s still Ill balanced with players who don’t really fit. We’ve massively lost our way, im really concerned at some of the figures going around because I simply don’t trust those in charge of recruitment at the moment to get it right. They’ve presided over a mess

Luton Town sign Exeter City forward Alli

Millenic Alli celebrates scoring a goal

Exeter City were the first EFL club that Dublin-born forward Alli had joined
Luton Town have signed Exeter City forward Millenic Alli in a deal BBC Radio Devon understands to be worth £1.5m.

The 24-year-old moved to the Grecians from non-league FC Halifax Town a year ago and scored 16 goals in 43 appearances.

He is Exeter's top scorer this season with 12 goals in all competitions.

He moves to a Luton Town side who have scored the third-fewest goals in the Championship and are second-from-bottom of the table, a season after being relegated from the Premier League.

"Milli is a player who we have come up against a few times and he's always impressed with his pace, power and individual dribbling ability to get his team up the pitch," Luton boss Matt Bloomfield told the club website.

"If you look at the goals he has scored – even Tuesday evening, two headers, one at the back post – he's a brave boy, and with his non-league background, he has a real hunger to prove himself at the levels above.

"Physically, he's got the capabilities to step up and with some work on the training ground with us, and that desire and pace at the top of the pitch, we believe that he can be a good asset for us both now and developing further into the future."

Pace and power sounds good to me, something we have been lacking this season. Am really interested to see how these 3 new signings fit together because we have a bit of a "bits and pieces" squad at the moment.

A lot of players but no real clarity of shape/style we want to play after Edwards bodged 523 shape and attempt to make us more possession based from the summer which he had to quickly back track from, weve lost identity. Really hoping there is some clarity of vision as to how all these players fit together now
