If I'm Bradford I recall him and, even if he doesn't fit their plans or doesn't want to be there, loan him to a League One side in January.

That way, Swindon are severely weakened and I doubt they could find someone as good to replace the goals Doyle scores at this level.

Problem is he's already played for Bradford and Swindon so isn't allowed to play for anyone else this season, so if Bradford can't get a tune out of him there stuck with a player on big wages.

Didn't even realise he turned out for Bradford this season. But it's a tough one. Imagine if Doyle at Swindon costs Bradford promotion. I'd do all I could to accommodate him from January onwards if it meant depleting a rival.

Can't believe they were trying to play him as a number 10. Guys just an animal in the penalty area.

Bradford should keep him, play him as a striker and get promoted. Doyle, Vaughan and Donaldson wouldn’t look out of place in a decent L1 team.

Hope his goals dont dry up in the New Year after we have recalled him!

Win win for Bradford you would have thought, recall a striker full of confidence, potentially dry up our goal threat, and add to yours.

Of course I’m sure it’s not that straightforward but he’s a striker in red hot form at the top of his game currently, I’m sure Bowyer is weighing up all options.

To be honest, you are correct, it is not straightforward.

Fans believe Bowyer didnt want to lose Doyle, but was more or less given little choice by the owner, if he wanted to bring in another 3 players he was chasing. So unless the owner loosens the purse strings, we would have to somehow offload 2 or 3 unwanted players to enable us to recall Doyle, which he failed to do so in the summer.

I reckon that Bradford City will re-negotiate the loan in January, and demand that Swindon pay his full wages for the remaining term of the loan. This happened to us last January with Jack Payne. Huddersfield made us pay his full wage from January to remain at Valley Parade, believed to be £10k a week. The ironic thing about it was that Payne was generally poor for the second half of the season, after an excellent first half of the season

I very much doubt we’ll be in a financial situation for that to work. We had to sign Zakuani and Donohue as emergency free transfers due to injuries. We can’t sign Caddis on a free due to us being very close to our budget so our hands may be tied sadly.

According to the Bradford local rag we are actually paying the bulk of his wages. Doyle has said he doesn’t expect to get recalled - I presume he knows the ins and outs of his loan agreement.

I just wonder why both clubs have failed to make public what the situation is. If I was a betting man, which I am, I’d say it’s to delay the wrath of the fans. Whose is the big question.

Maybe things will become clearer in 2 weeks when the FA Cup starts. Will he play or not?

Didn't Noah think that as well?
I think he ended up on one when the water levels fell...maybe there is some sort of lesson to be learned from that, perhaps we should stay where we are rather than relocate to the lowlands by the M5...at least our ground should be immune to the risks of rising sea levels due to climate change!

I think there might be a game on tomorrow between two teams in Gloucestershire...but very few people seem interested in talking about it.

I've been waiting for you lot to start it, what with being the lone, regular contributor from Cheltenham.

Easy win for Carlisle today. Our lads will throw the towel in as a protest, don't blame them if they do.

It will be a draw then, because our gutless lot will also throw in the towel as they do every week under this inept manager.

I'm hoping Crawley rediscover some effort today after two games of watching forwards run around us. It would be a hard game if we were on form but now...?

Gotta say I fancy Cambridge to win at home just hope we put on a bit of a show.

Plymouth v Grimsby postponed due to roof damage caused by overnight winds.

Sounds like some damage to the roof of the end near the away fans. Unfortunate, but it is the right decision.

Travel down here are present is difficult - loads of trains are cancelled and no Torpoint ferry etc. Hope the Grimsby fans are fine and have heard earlier enough to turn around.

Two games in a row we’ve had postponed due to the weather - surely we can’t make it a hattrick next week...

Would the team have travelled down last night?

I have seen that the roof damage is pretty much above where the away fans would be.

First game called off in what must be at least 10 years! Roof is clearly damaged, if that comes loose and lands on someone the club would be right in the shit, so obviously correct decision.

Feel sorry for the Grimsby fans who had already trekked all the way down the country though!

It seems most had already arrived and a lot had stayed over Friday night too, no way that could have been predicted though and safety must come first so the right call and just unlucky for the fans.
