we're not even on that chart why have we even come into this discussion ? and who has said it will last forever? we did wrack up debt the last two seasons, although th plan isn't to have any debt in the medium term. That's what all this chasing US fans is about. Long term that probably isn't sustainable but we shouldn't be in a position where we need to spend more than we are bringing in.

Also why does no-one ever talk about Stockport when these kinds of things crop up? they spend shit loads.

I imagine it’s based on last season’s accounts.

US fans are going to get bored of your story when they realise you’re not going to get promoted to the premier league and win it at the first attempt, how long that takes though is anyone’s guess.

Exactly. So rinse them for as much money as we can get for now. Of course it won't last.

In the Season Stockport went up we made a loss of 2.94m, so about 2m less than Stockport. We spent more last season, but our revenue also increased significantly so our loss will probably not be much more, if not less, for the promotion season.

He does struggle with his fitness, he’d not played for a year before we signed him.

Was easily our best player when he played though, although that was in a team that finished 17 points adrift at the bottom of the league so not that hard to stand out. Would have him back in a flash if Carlisle don’t want him.

But what exactly is he angry about? I appreciate the Assistant manager spoke to the media about wanting new contracts for him and Coleman, (because they're up at the end of the year) but I can't see what Coleman has said, unless a reporter has left it out and told tales to Holt.

Perhaps because there were less than 1800 home fans turned up yesterday.
Must be a bit demoralising when you are keeping the club afloat and the locals are not coming on the journey with you.

Seems to be a variety of things.

They signed 45(!) players last season so he's disappointed with their recruitment. He told them in the summer that he'd not start contract negotiations until they're better placed this season after being so disastrous last, but they (or their assistant) decided to do a media interview after 3 straight defeats and trying to strong arm Holt into giving them new deals and effectively saying they might have to look elsewhere.

It’s such a small place, if they manage to regularly get over 2k home fans in L2 they have done well.

Not that i agree with Holt blowing everything up, but if a management team gets relegated, it's one thing giving them the opportunity to take you back up, it's another them expecting a long term deal after 13 matches of the season.
It's a rough life being managers, and it sounds as though Holt might have agreed a new deal if they 'avoided relegation' which seems a bit generous, but they haven't done that yet. Personally I'd have thought the appropriate condition would be 'get us promoted back up and I'll give you a new contract', though that would be a bit harsh this season. To be fair, a second straight relegation did seem a possibility pre-season, and I guess they have steadied the ship.

Fair enough for Holt to be angry IMO, Bell seems implicitly to be pressuring him for more money by means of a BBC interview (and talking as though he, not Holt, is the club owner)

Seems terribly sober to me.

Running a football club is like a long-term argument, but it all takes place behind the scenes. Bell took things public and Holt responded in kind, he's got nothing left to give and so nothing to lose.

When I first saw it happening last night I thought it would be a meltdown like the bellends in charge of York and Yeovil get involved in, but he comes across quite sensible to me. It feels bad having dirty linen aired in public, but he's not the one who raised the stakes
