Matty Palmer aka Mr Consistent has been confirmed as out for the season!

Out of the entire squad he's certainly in the Top 3 most important players and one is Notts fans who have seen him week in week out wouldn't want out long term. He's key to how we play.

Crushing blow for a talented but small and now very stretched squad.

Wish the pass master , the tempo man, nice lad Matty the very best during his recovery.

It's ok we've still got John Bostock to knock the ball about nicely .... Oh wait no he's out too.

Ermmmmm may need a Plan B after all.

He's the lynchpin of the team. More important than John Bostock or Langstaff in his way.
I've no idea how we're going to fill his boots between now and the transfer window, we'll cope for a game of two but not for a dozen.

To be fair Notts had an enormous amount of luck with their key players not getting injured last season, it was always going to end at some point.

I agree although we did have injuries last season the core of the team were never out for very long. Having said that we went about ten games on the run in with Langstaff as our only fit striker.
This season we've three out for the season and lost Rodrigues . I think we've done very well to be as competitive as we have been but we're going to struggle until we get some players in now. Club statement says we're looking at our of contract players to help get us to the window.

Very true. So fortunate last season that's why we won so often and scored so many.

I expected it to end , not to be so fortunate and the pendulum has well and truly swung. With Bostock and Palmer fit we looked good. Without one bad , without both ugly.

Langstaff is such a soldier and scores goals.

Don’t know how Mansfield have coped!

We actually got one or two back now! Oates and McLaughlin off the bench Tuesday. Akins got a eye fracture now mind.

Still missing our player of the season last year and our best defender, both probably won’t be back this season.

Hewitt back Feb/March. Kilgour no chance I presume. Hope they can both come back and find the form they were in before getting injured. ACL’s it rarely happens though does it.

Cheers Alfie.

Does not suprise me that Accrington are top of the list, some dirty c*** of theirs halfed our best striker who we'd just signed on deadline day in a pisspot trophy match and he's out injured now until January which has fucked us and because of that we're heading back down to this shithole division.

Cheers Accrington you fucking dirty tinpot bastard club, just fuck off back to the non-league with all your 200 fans where you belong.

Oh you're struggling at the bottom hardly a suprise and you thought you would be good this season with all your cup winnings.

Not sure I'd be digging into another team's league position if I was a Carlisle fan..

Quite a difference of going down into L2 than going down into non-league and L2 looks much weaker than it was when we got promoted, so if we go down coming back up should be a piece of piss.

I mean, if Stockport can be running away with it right now after how poor they were in the play offs and didn't even strengthen their squad in the summer just proves my point.
Add to that how the two non-leaguers who came up are also doing well and Morecambe who were meant to be the whipping boys.

L2 is a lot stronger this year then it was two years ago, from what I’ve seen.

Looks much weaker? Ok that's just a poor attempt and not subtle enough Carver.

You do know the promoted were big spending FC Hollywood and Strange Luke's Super Computer Notts County?

Record points for both last term, it made the news

The team you saw from us in the play-offs was not us at our best, we had numerous injuries to key players.

From October to May we were an automatic promotion team comfortably certainly points wise. DIsasterours start cost us that and then bad injuries reduced our play off chances (and we were still only a kick of the ball away)

I think we do look stronger this year although Barry's injury has probably reduced that a bit now.

Even with Barry injured, I'll be astonished if you don't go up automatically. You've seemed a year ahead of us since R&R took us over, well equipped to go up this time.

I think the other 2 spots are still up for grabs, but so far I fancy ourselves and Mansfield for it most. There will no doubt be some team going on a mad run and challenging like you did last year though. I fancy MK Dons for it, they have a top quality squad for this level and have took an interesting gamble on the manager which could pay off. If they just miss out on automatic, them and Notts would have to be favourites in the playoffs in that instance.

Well getting record points in a pub league must feel like a great achievement for both clubs.

One for the non-league history books.

Was a great achievement and I can't speak for Wrexham but we have far bigger achievements in our history books. 1894 baby :bg:

And it is in the history books, that's how those things work. Just like Carlisle reaching the Football League Trophy final more than any other team, it's in the record books.

Great achievement.

considering we’ve been in this league for about 10 years straight I should know, this is the strongest division I’ve seen for a few years.
