considering we’ve been in this league for about 10 years straight I should know, this is the strongest division I’ve seen for a few years.
Agreed, any other season we’d be top 3 with our squad but being down in 21st shows just how strong this league is this year.

There appears to be some weird ticketing from our end regarding the Boxing Day game v Wrexham. 3 blocks of our main home only stand are being offered as a package to include hotel with B&B + dinner and ticket. The present area for away fans in the Arkells stand seems now to be available to home fans.

So it seems Wrexham are getting the open Bank (2000 odd) and the chance to buy those hotel packages in the home stand where there is no segregation either in that stand or the concourse. Seems a recipe for complete carnage. ST holders in those 3 blocks will, I presume, be moved out otherwise they’ll be a mix of home and away fans together.

Hope I’ve got this wrong.

Really don’t know what’s going on. I think we have to give you the usual seats in the Arkells whatever all away fans get. I’m not even sure if the open Bank has a current safety certificate. The lark with the hotel package is a mystery.

Apparently it’s not being marketed specifically to away fans - though that’s not saying some may fancy it. The 3 blocks in question obviously have existing ST holders in them so I’d be careful as an away fan going in there and in the concourse before the game and at half time.

Nothing better than brightening up your Xmas than a night in a Swindon town centre hotel!

I can’t see many fans of either club really fancying it tbh.

I'll give it a swerve. Staying over at my parents in Telford will sweeten the deal of a 2 hour trip instead of a 3 hour one. Plus getting 3 points will be welcomed to really make the trip worth it ;)

And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse.

Its just come to light when Power owned the club he borrowed money from a company owned by Roman Abramovich with the stipulation it would only be repaid upon getting promoted - if we failed the loan wouldn’t need repaying. Other strings were that the company would have details of the club’s budget, players contracts and salaries.

There were rumours at the time that we were deliberately avoiding getting promoted.

Obviously EFL rules prohibit one club owner having any sway over another club. Points deduction incoming I reckon.

Our game against Bradford on 23/12 has been brought forward to Friday night of 22 probably because it’s the last Saturday before Xmas, good grief I would have thought the average footy fan would have been gagging for an excuse to get away for a few hours, sorry Bradford fans totally shite decision

Ours away at FGR was moved more or less start of the season to the Friday night. As said, weird decision all round.

That doesn’t really bother me, tbh.

If anything, I think it’ll be carnage. Isn’t it effectively ‘Mad Friday’?

I imagine the away end will just be filled with lads who have already finished for Christmas getting absolutely wankered.

Good luck, SYP.

Our yoots are flying right now. Recently beaten Hartlepool who were 2nd in their league 7-0. Cameron Gardner who we've got locked into a three year contract has got back to back hattricks. Obviously it's a massive step up to our level, but there are people saying he'll be in and around our first team squad before long. Would be great to see a few players come through. People who watch them are saying this is out strongest youth team in ages/probably ever.

And Stockport for our game, extremely annoying.

2 successive fridays then as our game on 29th is an evening KO (assuming they all are)

29th Dec is a working day, so would be amazed to see any games KO earlier than 7:45.

Although, bizarrely, there were a couple last year lower down the pyramid. I remember Braintree kicking off at 3pm on the Thursday I think it was, despite the fact it was a ordinary working day.

Lee Power was always a man with “fingers in several pies, tills and anything else” but I never had him down as someone to be in cahoots with the Russians.

Yeah, God knows how their paths crossed. Still can’t see what the point of this ‘loan’ was.

We had a rearranged game away at Chester that was for midday on Wednesday between Xmas and new year. As you say, bizarre but then again the non league system is ran by blokes stuck in the 80s.

Profoundly stupid decision IMO. I think you are one of only three teams (with AFC Wimbledon and I think also Doncaster) In L2 this year who've never played at The New Lawn before, so would have expected a higher away turnout by those who wanted to visit a new ground. It's not as if Gillingham to Nailsworth is a short hop either.

With most of our local or local-ish rivals (the ones who would sell out our away end) now in League One (or in Argyle's case the Championship), the Swindon match already having been played on a Tuesday night, and Newport being on Boxing Day, it's look we're doing everything we can to suppress attendance at our home games this season - and so far this attempt appears to be largely successful.

We’ve had our game on Boxing day moved to half 12 on police advice. Bad enough having to drag myself down from 2 mile away with a stinking hangover so feel for the Grimbo lot. They’ve not moved any of our KOs for a few fixtures now so not sure why this is needed

Still reckon it’ll be very close to a sell out mind.

Yeah absolutely, we would've sold it out I'm sure but now you could probably slash 50% off the away following. That said we took a fair few to Swindon on a midweek a few weeks ago so you never know.
