At least three League 2 clubs will not be appearing in next round having being drawn against each other but the draw has been generally kind to our league on the whole. [Okay Carlisle, Colchester, Sutton & Salford may disagree].
Far too early in season to offer a form guide - the bookies odds are the best alternative option.
One interesting nugget is that both Gloucestershire teams;- Cheltenham & FGR are playing the two Bristol clubs;- City & Rovers.

Mansfield and Walsall both at 12/5 to win against PNE and Donny respectively looks tempting.

Not too fussed about our game with Sunderland. So long as don’t pick up any injuries am more interested in us being right for Tranmere on Saturday.

Sky all too predictable showing Derby v Salford. Will give that one a miss I think. Would have thought Stevenage v Luton could have been considered. At least that’s somewhat of a local derby.

I really don't care about this game and it sounds like the manager doesn't either, hope we change some players around and get a proper look at those who didn't play yesterday.

Nice to be on the tellybox. We generally have an appalling record in the League Cup, but are currently undefeated in the competition since 2019, so must go into this game as red-hot favourites.

Bored of Sunderland now, that’s a game in all three competitions in four seasons now!

Not too arsed but torn if we play our best XI to gel them further or if we save the bigger players for Tranmere.

Think the likes of Garrity, Legge and Benning will start who didn’t yesterday and maybe Proctor for Rodney who took a kicking and was struggling.

Good chance to progress at home against apparent relegation certs Scunthorpe. Can't go myself but it will be the first EFL home fixture with an unrestricted crowd so hopefully it will be a good night for those that are there.

In many ways it will feel like the first season back in the League for many.

Nice to have a competitive fixture against a side Chris Beech referred to as the best team in this stage of the competition. Should be a good experience and a chance to improve our match fitness given the lack of real tests in our summer friendly programme.

I'd like us to win this personally, good chance to keep momentum from Saturday. A few changes I'd do, bring in Daly for Holohan, possibly Lawlor or Ogle in at the back, Angol maybe to get a game.

DC said in his interview that whoever started in goal saturday wont be in goal on tuesday.
So i would think that would also apply to other players.

Think we should just forfeit, no real point of travelling that far just to be slapped around.

We’ve been beyond terrible in any kind of cup competition for years. I reckon we’ll put out some young ‘uns and continue the depressing trend at Cambridge.

Based on what I was told about Cambridge from an Oxford fan yesterday they aren't very good aside from Hoolahan.

I have a sneaky suspicion we might cause a shock.

I’m excited. It’s the closest Sutton game I’ve had in the decade or so I’ve lived in South Wales. It’ll also be the biggest stadium I’ve seen Sutton in, a stadium that hosts international matches and a club that was relatively recently in the Premier League.

It’ll be a contrast to the last league cup game we played, in the Isthmian League Cup away at Walton Casuals in 2010.

Probably lose though.

Off to Bramall Lane on Tuesday night. Even though it’s highly likely we’ll get annihilated, I’m looking forward to it. My first away game in about 18 months. No pressure on us, as tough a game as we could get.

We don't have a big enough squad to make wholesale changes, but I'd imagine Jackett will change one or two around.

Will be suprised if we progress though, if it gets to pens we'll have a chance.

Games on Sky as well.

DC said he’s looking forward to the game as he had success in it as a player.
I think he’ll be taking it seriously,we need another win to keep the momentum going.

i‘d definitely start Burey over Fela,he looked excellent when he came on.
I’d agree about Daley,he also looked very good in his brief appearance.Big,strong & got around the midfield, but I would start him, over Shelton.

Harrogate postponing their game v Rochdale after the farce with tickets last week is incredibly tinpot (even if it is due to covid)

Shame for them really, assume this won’t be an issue when the isolation rules change in a few days

Aye I noticed DC changed his tune, said he was more bothered about Barrow on Saturday and now he’s up for it again, I wouldn’t make wholesale changes but I’d like to see Ogle, Lawlor, Burey, Daly start, maybe hoy Cullen on for a longer run out.

Off to Ipswich at midday! cant wait, what happens in the game don't matter just to be on a coach traveling to an away game again is what counts at this time, the result is irrelevant, for anyone traveling to watch their team tonight safe journey there and back

Harrogate v Dale is off. Covid in the Harrogate squad. Given the lack of time to squeeze in the game before round 2 It’s likely we’ll get a bye.

CANNOT wait till Akinfenwa bullies our CB's, scores after 5 minutes and then they proceed to time waste for the next 85 minutes

Apparently we haven't won a game in the League Cup since 2013. Not great even with 3 years not being involved. Not that bothered if it continues as long as we get no injuries or unjust red cards.

I reckon you may amend that record tonight if we still have players out with covid.

it wouldn't surprise me if barrow still have a better record in it than us.

hoping for a positive reaction tonight although i'm not confident of winning. if we can at least put in a better performance then I'll be happy.

Yeah we've traditionally been awful in it.

Other than that year we got to the fourth round beating three Championship sides and taking Spurs to ET at White Hart Lane and beating the two Sheffield Clubs a couple of years later to be "rewarded" with an away trip to then Championship Scunthorpe in R3 which was completely soul destroying to get that after knocking out two big clubs like that it hasnt been very kind to us!

We were 10 minutes from beating Spurs as well if I remember rightly as Leon Constantine scored for us before they brought on all their big guns at the time.

Somewhat mixed feelings on the cup competitions, whilst it would be nice to get a big club or Stoke in a later round is it worth the inevitable fixture backlog and increased injury risk? It's for that reason I'm adamant I want us out of the Pizza Trophy first round. That competition hurt us a lot last season in terms of injuries.
