Out of the three listed, the player most likely to win you a game out of nothing is Ricky Holmes.

Isn't Matty Taylor an Oxford fan? And the Cambridge contingent think we are letting Hylton go? Well this is obvious.

If this was based on the month of August alone, Jabo would win it (unless Dean Cox pipped him to it again)...

Seriously I'd probably go for Roofe, no doubt all 3 are terrific players but I think he has stood out throughout the season. I'd say Holmes is a better player but he's missed a chunk of the season, so he'll likely miss out.

If I was to personally vote for the three players I have been most impressed with this season, only Taylor would be up there out of the three. Having not yet seen Accrington (where I expect to be impressed by Windass again) or Portsmouth, and having rarely watched the football league show ('cos I refuse to watch when we lose), and having not watched many of the games on TV, there is a very short list of players to have impressed me this season. Due to reasons above, I didn't even know who Holmes played for until I read this thread, not sure he played against us but he certainly didn't impress if he did.

Lutons goalkeeper had an absolute blinder against us, in probably the only game we looked half decent under the Dinosaur.
Taylor scored about 17 goals against us this season.
Both Hery and Ibehre at Carlisle were very impressive in the game at our place.
The only single outstanding player I have seen was Sinclair of Bristol Rovers. A class act.
I'm surprised you've picked out Hery in truth, he's been underwhelming all season.

Matty Taylor (the Rovers forward) and Matthew Taylor (the Burnley midfielder) are both Oxford fans.

If we go up, I'd like us to go Matt Taylor shopping.

In fact, why stop there - I'd like us to then go and sign Dean Whitehead, Dexter Blackstock and Stuart Beavon, keep hold of Callum O'Dowda and James Roberts; and make our first proper strides to becoming League One's Athletic Bilbao.

Bristol City fans obsessed with real football clubs since 1982
Yeah, that's why i'm not obsessed with Rovers

I do find it bizarre these awards are handed out before the end of the season. These three were so close that things happening between now to then matter. Fair play to Roofe winning it, very good player, but if MT ends up with 30+ in a promoted team (not saying that will happen) would be hard to say he didn't deserve POTS

I'd be really interested to see what people think the top 10 players in this division are, but can maybe only list one from their own team or something. Tally up the votes at the end...

What do people think?

I struggle to withhold my bias in this area but something along these lines for me.

If I have to drop one of my 4 cobblers player than Rico goes out.

A fair assesment there and generally I agree on all those names.

In terms of defenders I'd say Aaron Pierre of Wycombe and Curtis Nelson of Plymouth are both worthy mentions as centre backs for me.

Enda Stevens of Portsmouth is also a good left back.
