Yep, clearly just an oversight that little detail was left out. This should really be beneath the dignity of any club to come out with garbage like this but it is Norman Smurthwaites Port Vale we are talking about. As if the club wasn't enough of a laughing stock already.

Oddly they haven't even mentioned James Gibbons red card which was rescinded either? Seems cobbled together, its extremely strange.

Yes had the goals stood the Cambridge and Cheltenham games would have turned differently but if you defend properly and take chances that is irrelevant anyway.

Aspin moaned about the apologies etc which is fair enough but an official statement is bizarre. It doesn't even really tell you anything? We always report back to the board, and will on this... great I am sure every club does the same!

The following has been sent to members of Hardy's golf club. No similar reassurance for Notts fans or (more importantly) the employees of Paragon who presumably are due to be paid on Thursday. Something definitely afoot. The only way I see this turning out to be good for the club is if the takeover is at an advanced stage and potential owners are still willing to go through with it.

View attachment 10498

If taken over though one assumes the debt to Paragon could still be called in? Surely no one would buy the club out of that debt of £7 million?

That lino was terrible, one of the poorest we've had this season and I'm sure he only did what he did for Pope's perfectly legitimate goal only to atone for the other incident. Two wrongs don't make a right, but far too many refs and linos think otherwise apparently.

Anyway, I hope you lot do stay up in spite of Smurf's best efforts to take you down, though not at our expense obviously!

You're more than likely correct, but Notts have been bailed out by new owners in the past (even Ray Trew, who ultimately turned out to be a bad owner, decided to invest the extra millions rather than put the club into administration after the Munto fiasco). It's probably bad news for us, but we won't know for sure now til later in the week.

Famous last words, but people will keep buying Notts because we have the location, fanbase, stadium etc that means it’s possible to do something if you get it right.

Any potential owner will surely hold off now, though, particularly if (as we think it is) all the debt is to Paragon.

What did Vaughan actually do at Chester?
I get he was a head case and a scumbag, but was it that he had no money or did he take all the income for himself?

I used to find it mildly amusing how he used to demand promotion every season then sack the manager half way through before bringing back Mark Wright.
A minutes silence for a murdered drug dealer and a cleaning bill of around 300k (proper laundry) are 2 that spring to mind

Fellow U's may disagree, and they probably will, but until very recently I was quietly confident of staying up. I always felt that way even when Dunne was still here and we were only a point or two better off Macc and Notts in Nov/Dec. Thing is that it's only now that I'm having doubts and that's down to Calderwood and his utterly unwarranted starting line up changes. That and his inability to motivate the side enough to get a couple of away wins, something that even Dunne could manage. Under CC we've only won away at Notts, and that's no big deal IMO as we're their bogey team.

If we stay up it will only be down to our decent home record as I've given up on us winning or even drawing another away match this season. But then again, our remaining home games aren't the easiest on paper and most of the sides we've got coming up are either in or around the playoff spots.

Hardy has spoken - reckons the club aren’t affected and he’s expecting a formal offer from an ‘overseas consortium’ imminently. Believe that when i see it tbh.

Strangely isn't the most reassuring of statements is it? A lot seems to depend on the offer being made very quickly.

To paraphrase Mickey Adams: “Get a life, Vale”.

The days when Adams used a siege mentality to your advantage is such a distant memory. Crying on the internet about an offside decision is a sad sight.

Chesterfield we’re getting that last season too when they were adrift at the bottom. Similarities are stark.

To be fair I having suffered listening to Artell on P&G whilst sounding passively aggressive and like he is talking whilst eating a sandwich moaning about referee decisions most weeks Crewe can’t really talk but this statement is truly baffling. I’d love to know who and why released it!

The gift that keeps on giving. An absolute cringeworthy joke .
Worthy of Arsene Wenger or Benitez when he lost the plot.

We are 90th because we are absolutely spineless and gutless not because of crap refs.
All teams experience it.

I can only apologise as most Vale fans in their right mind think that this is an absolute farce, obviously a few worms think otherwise.

What a car crash

I have always subscribed to the view that crap decisions even themselves out over a season and where you finish is largely down to your own abilities or lack of them.
Vale are 90th for a reason.
Although I have to say, we was robbed at the eithiad in the semi final, and all of their 9 goals looked dubious to me.

I can see how and why teams have grievances over individual big games (us in the play-offs last season..), but the idea that you’ve been hard done by enough over the course of a season to justify an official club statement seems pretty fanciful.

Like I said I don’t think it’s a clear cut as that reasoning wise. I imagine it’s to maybe deflect the off field issues or something like that.

Most Vale fans are pretty stunned by it to be honest as I said earlier Jacob it’s Emmervale! You literally couldn’t make half the shit up.

Things have taken a turn for the worse. I dont blame the manager, its the players. If we keep blaming the manager, we will need at least two new ones by May.
