Lots of rumours this morning about Hardy's business being in financial trouble. Not sure of the impact on Notts but if the administrators of Paragon call those loans in (which would seem likely?) we'd be in trouble.

I don't know much about these things but it's surely in the interests of any potential owner to wait now and see what happens? Even if you take into account the lost revenue from going into the Conference it's probably still cheaper to wait until the asking price is significantly lower?

Issue you have is if your in administration and relegated the National League system generally refuse to accept you don't they?

Someone did some digging on that a few weeks ago and I think the rule is that clubs in administration are accepted from the league but are expelled if the situation isn't resolved at the end of the following season.

Ah I see that makes sense with Darlington? Maybe.

Swear to god if our existence was a film it’d be laughed out for being more unrealistic than Goal.

There is literally always something else.

Same with us... often refer to it as Emmervale such has the soap opera been over the past decade... guess thats why we've both found ourselves in the current situation!

This is only the third weirdest thing to happen to us in the past 20 years, after being taken over by fictitious Arab billionaires and being forced into administration because the bank our owners were arranging a loan from had his offices blown up on 9/11.

Notts are an absolute basketcase of a club. Chaos seems to follow us around.

You’d like to think that given notts history any administration penalty would be doubled or something. There should be a rule that if it happens twice in a decade it’s doubled.

The fans as per can’t do anything.

I'll try to find the rule that was doing the rounds a few weeks ago but I'm fairly sure we'd have a year to sort it out (which given it took 18 months for us to sort it out last time...)

Apparently there's a statement due this afternoon on the future of Paragon. It'll be interesting to see what's said: either things have gone south very quickly for them or their success has been vastly overstated.

I believe so , certainly used to be the case.
Notts could end up in the NPL.

They tried it with Boston but they were just relegated to the conference north on appeal.

We haven't been in administration for 15 years.

Didn't Notts buy 8 new players in January? How the hell have they managed to afford that if this is all true?

Paragon weren't in a visible threat then, so the loan wasn't likely to be called on? It's only if the Admin come knocking

Total conjecture this, but my best guess is that Hardy managing to get himself in the national press by posting a dick pic on Twitter has lost them loads of contracts. By all accounts (including their financial ones), Paragon have looked like a not just viable but extremely successful business until... well, now.

I work in The City (of London) and incredibly and worryingly, Paragons likely administration announcement is being spoke of in my office with no link or reference to NCFC or football. Looks dicey , looks bad to say the least. Let’s see what the official announcement says later

When a club is financed by the owner’s business there is always the risk that any downturn of the business will impact on the club.

There is another world recession on the horizon and I reckon more clubs will be at risk.

Exactly, could just as easily affect many clubs, Mansfield could easily be one of them.

So if Cov and Notts get kicked out of the league does that mean no-one will be relegated?

But if we do go into admin that's definitely us gone. So if Coventry were then expelled no one else would have anything to worry about.

The Coventry situation is complex, because on the unlikely event it did happen that they could be thrownh out the Port Vale chairman could relegate Port Vale and save Coventry by offering them tenancy at Nuneaton's ground which he owns!
