Forget his ability for a second, Kurtis Guthrie's attitude completely stinks. We've been used to players not giving a shit over the last few years but he's right up there with his lack of application and desire.
He will fit in very well then! Him and Theo could be the laziest strike force in the league!

Salford have signed Robbie Gotts from Leeds after he was recalled from his season long loan with us.

A CM who can cover RB but played more in defence for us and did an ok job. Had a handful of outings in CM for us but didn't look L1 comfortable in there. Leeds see him as a CM so I suspect they'll want him somewhere where he'll play there and consistently, which wasn't going to be here.

Wellens tried to sign him for Swindon in the summer.

12 months, 13 games, 0 goals.
I always remember us signing Akpo Sodje and Darlo fans slated him and laughed at us, quarkerz on here was tearing us one (league above we were too) £325k in the bank a year later and a great season.

So you never know, look at Theo, great goal to minute ratio last season, dogshit for us.

I will give him a chance but do think our fans are excited over one game!

Guthrie scored 13 goals in 49 for Colchester and 14 in 38 for stevenage so if he scores at that rate for us then it will be a decent signing. If he's crap like Bradford fans say then we will get rid in the summer when his contract is up.

Sometimes it doesn't work out for players at certain clubs. If you ask vale fans what they think of theo Robinson they will say crap bone idle awful first touch but Colchester and Swindon fans will rate him.

Exactly this. It’s a low risk signing.

When he was with FGR in the Conference he was one of our better players but agree he did have an attitude problem when not first name on the team sheet.

He had a decent spell with us where he looked like a good League Two forward who could maybe step up to League One, but as others have said his biggest problem is his attitude rather than his ability. Would take Robinson over Guthrie every day of the week.

Looks like Harry McKirdy has left judging by his social media, de registered from the squad anyway but says no fall outs just didn’t work out.

the comments from the bratfud fans are worrying but sometimes it just doesn't work out for a player at a particular club. like you lot have said, 6 month deal, player with a bit of a point to prove and he should be in an ok team in paper, i'm fairly happy with this signing.

don't believe for one second there were no issues Harry but best of luck, shame it didn't work as it would have been quite funny to have an absolute bastard wum playing for us when the fans are back in.

We've signed 22 year old winger Dan Kemp from West Ham on a 2 and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee it. His loan spell at Blackpool this season where he seemed to be in and out of the team was cut short so he could sign for us. Was also on loan at Stevenage last season.

Decent signing on paper, probably means that Jordan Maguire-Drew will be moving on at some point because they both play on the right and JMD has barely featured over the last few months, so it seems he's been on his way out for a while.

18 year old Ethan Walker has been recalled by Preston. He came on as a sub in each of our first four games, playing on the left wing, before injuring his shoulder falling badly in the trophy at Sun'lan. He looked OK in those games where we were struggling in the league and we might have planned to bring him back as he's close to returning to action but not to be.
Supposedly he might go back on loan to you before the window shuts but for now we want to keep him around.
We're pretty short out wide.

Wouldn’t say he’s not good enough. He’s actually a decent footballer but just a bit lightweight and powderpuff. Will probably do well for a footballing side down south.
Just been pointed out that James Tiley comes from just down the road from Crawley and is now a freebie so 2+2 may equal 5 in this instance.

Thing is we have just signed Josh Wright who is the same sort of player.

Stephen Quinn on loan until end of the season, Clough said if Perch or Cook are not in the team we have nobody above 30, so needed some experience.

Would you like Matt Green back then?

Never, Green became a bit of a legend here and even when he returned he was really good for us, don’t wanna spoil it lol.

Quinn is a regular for Burton, Clough and the fact he will be closer to home is the reasoning for a drop in division.

We’re being linked with Maguire-Drew amongst other clubs according to a twitter account. Unlikely to happen though as Bonner said we are looking at loans and not a permanent.

Is he any good? Why is he out of favour?

Wouldn't mind that. We may have to look closely at whether players we bring in are in positions we sorely need cover for, (we have Toure, Patrick and Dickenson who can play on the left wing) but he is someone who has already been around the squad which will be appealing I'm sure

Deepest commiserations to Port Vale fans today.

You have signed probably the worst, least interested striker I have had the pleasure of watching in 55 years at Valley Parade.

It was a mystery why we signed him last January on deadline day, he wasnt even getting in rock bottom Stevenage's side at that time.

It is now 15 months since he scored a goal for any club. His attitude on the pitch even on his debut was shocking to see.

I know some Port Vale fans have labelled us a basket case club, not anymore, our new CEO and interim management team have got rid of him at the earliest opportunity.

Trust me and fellow Bantams fans, he is absolute garbage.

At least you only have him for 4 months or so.

James Tilley signs for Crawley. 2 1/2 year deal with an option for a third.

We've signed two midfielders in this window both of whom couldn't get into sides below us in the table. Yems and Bradbury can spot a player that others had missed so let's hope they've done it again.

Have to admit I’m not overly thrilled with this signing based on what have seen said of him and it’s clearly been a disaster for him at Bradford. Similar to Theo with us.

With that said hopefully he will realise with it being just until end of the season he needs to pull his finger out to try and impress to get a deal either with us longer term or elsewhere.

Only other thing am clinging to and I’m not taking a dig at Bradford but I don’t believe you have anyone who has the quality delivery that Worrall, Hurst and Conlon are capable of so maybe that might be able to play to his strengths better. Quite probably clutching at straws but we’ll see.

Vale fans will shudder at the mention of Shane Tudor who had a good game against us for orient, so much so that Foyle bought him and reminded us all how good he was for orient.
It was one game.
He was toss for us.
Lazy, lazy scouting.
I’d sack Pugh now , purely on this signing.
Shoe-ins for the mediocrity cup.

still remember when we lost 4-1 to Macc and Tudor goes in the press and says we shouldn’t be losing to a shit club...

His record overall isn’t bad Guthrie so won’t be too negative yet, il give him chance. Pope was crap, Sodje was crap, Constantine was crap, Ricco was crap all turned out great signings... on the flip side Theo Robinson was rated by his previous clubs fans, Tyrone Barnett came with a big reputation, Jordan Slew was a £1 million man... look how they turned out!

Some players work better at different clubs so will give him chance, he has 23 games to prove he is worth a deal otherwise he risks losing his career in the current situation with another failure so it’s down to him, if it doesn’t work out he’s gone come May no harm done.

Same sort of thing was said about Wright.

We started the season with Fergusson playing central midfielders but he was dropped as he kept on missing tackles and not chasing back. Yems said (on a talk of the town interview) that he wasn't happy with the way our midfielders keep on leaving our defenders exposed. So why sign two players who are known for going missing?

I presume (I dont know) that some midfielders will be leaving this window.

He played against us on Boxing Day and was as slow as a funeral.

As another O’s fan put on Twitter: “He’s all sizzle and no sausage”.

Plenty of talent. Two-footed, wonderful crosser of the ball, takes a nice set piece, has both the vision for assists and the knack of scoring goals.

All of which sounds great until you realise he’s fucking garbage at any of the other useful skills a professional footballer needs, such as application, attitude, tackling, tracking back, heading the ball, fitness, looking after himself away from the pitch, not giving the ball away in midfield or that most basic of skills: running. Kitman will be happy as JMD always comes off the pitch with a nice, clean kit.

In other words, there’s a real player in there. Just a shame that it’s a real luxury player.
