Was gonna say aye, surprised to see he's still even playing. Was alright for us 15 years ago. Although looking at his stats on Wiki it's maybe a stretch to say he has been playing since about 2012.

Harry McKirdy who was deregistered from Vales squad in January appears to have rolled up at Leicester City! Playing for their U23s tonight!

what does deregister mean????

my thoughts would be Harry Mc Kirdy is de registered but is still employed by port vale, but cannot play again this season.
Was he paid off which would make him a free agent which means Leicester could sign him and play him in the u23s

Removed from our 22 man squad in January when we signed Jake Taylor.

We’ve not said we’ve paid him up so who knows.

if he was out of contract at the end of the season......seems they have come to a mutual agreement

Hope so! More stunned he’s found himself at Leicester... if he can’t get in our squad when we’ve been shit for months and had major injury crises!

It's a weird one, but something Leicester have always done - they signed Adam Dawson from us after a few years bumbling about in non-league, and seen them sign one or two others that have zero chance of making their first team. I can only think it has something to do with mixing a few players with experience of senior football in with their kids.

Does U23 football follow the same registration rules as senior football? Could still be contracted to Port Vale.

Strange that he's rocked up there... maybe he's friends with someone in their youth setup. The Leicester fans seem to be equally confused as to why a player on the verge of 24 who has been in League Two for the past couple of seasons is playing for their U23s.

Maybe they're hoping that if they sign enough non-league players they'll stumble upon another Jamie Vardy.

Ron took part in Supporters meeting last night and confirmed Ranger has signed but not quite fit so that's why he hasn't played. Clueless as to why it hasn't been announced by the club probably avoiding the attention he brings.

We saw first hand what he can do when he was here previously, he's big, good with his feet, can run at defenders with power - everything we need atm. He had a kid 7 weeks ago maybe that will make the penny drop, not holding my breath but then he could singlehandedly keep us up.

When you're in a situation like you are it's just about getting in all the help you can. I remember Marlon Harewood being instrumental in keeping Hartlepool up a few seasons back. Not that there were any questions over Harewood's attitude like you have with Ranger, but he was still a middling striker, unfit and well past his best.

Of course it can also backfire, like when we brought Gary Madine back in a desperate attempt to avoid relegation from League One, only for him to get convicted of assault and given an electronic tag and curfew that made it impossible to play him.

Yeah I couldn't agree more. It's a position we massively needed to strengthen. Emile Acquah our current target man is young but he should be playing in Conference South or Isthmian Prem.

Nile Ranger announced on an 'incentivised month-to-month contract'.

If he wasn't an absolute weapon Nile Ranger would be way too good for league 2. When we had him in 2013/2014 it was clear how good a footballer he was. Sadly he just couldn't behave and we were forced to terminate his contract. Oddly enough, on the pitch his discipline was exemplary, I don't think he got a yellow card for us. (that could well be wrong) Sadly his 'demons' led to us parting ways.

I know he has had a child and has vowed to amend his ways, but how many times have we heard it before? Fair enough that Southend have provided his contract in an incentivised way, it will be interesting to see how that works and how long/if the wheels come off for him.

Yea he was class here before when we had him he ended up getting sacked because of him being late all the time. It created a divide in the team and he had to go but it was nothing to do with what he did on the pitch.
He's just had a kid so hoping providing for another can wake him up literally. If that can't nothing will

Haha. Rodney would have 100 goals this season if he was.

Hull City want Elliot Watt, according to Alan ‘I’m never wrong, but if I am I’ll block you’ Nixon.

Only joined in the summer from Wolves and has been a fantastic signing for us. I imagine he’ll command a decent fee; but I doubt we need to sell him either, unless it’s for stupid money.

Love Watt Hull can piss off, especially with their Mauled by the tigers nonsense. Can’t do with that club punched above their weight for far too long and still hate their owners.

Do you honestly believe that???

He's an absolute donkey - his performance at our place was arguably the worst I've ever seen from an opposition defender, and Saturday he spooned the ball out of play half a dozen times.

Best centre half in the league......The fact he is not playing in the premier league is down to games like Fgr, you and Port Vale.

Google lge 2 team of the week and see how many times he is in it.

Will win our player of the year and will get in the PFA lge 2 team of the year

Excellent signing

Those games where he had a bad game Crellin was in goal and we played 5 at the back
Baptiste was awful in that system

Crellin wasn’t in goal against the Vale?

He was murdered by Dave that afternoon. Look forward to seeing how he does against him in a 4-4-2 maybe he will be better but by far the worst opposing player we’ve faced so far this season in terms of individual performance.
