Danny Rowe is a luxury player if left to play his own game didn’t suit the lone striker role for us and by the sound of it hasn’t played the loan striker roll well for Bradford needs to play in a front two or just behind strikers in a no10 roll to get the best out of him

Strange one. Lasted 5 months at Oldham and 3 with us, now back in non league.

Comes across as a player who throws his toys out of the pram if not playing.

Also unsubstantiated rumours that he had a training ground bust up with one of our players soon after arriving and then was unavailable for a few matches with 'a heavy cold'.

Not bothered about todays news to be honest
I'm sure us Barrow fans warned people about him when he moved into the EFL....
undoubtedly talented - but a sometimes awful attitude to match...
The sort of player that someone like Ian Evatt would get the best out of IF anyone could.
But i'd say he's blown his EFL chances now - unless he's here next season with Chesterfield.

Hi all, just writing to let you know I've agreed a deal with the Non-League forum and as such I'll be ramping down my content in this section over the coming weeks.

Danny Rowe signing for Chesterfield having only signed here in January, can’t say I’m at all bothered.

Edit: Confirmed now, also the unsurprising news that we’ll try being Andy Cook in on a permanent deal.

Not sure how the Cook thing will go, he’s out of contract but we have a option, problem is the big wages he’s on might not be worth risking getting a fee for him.

it will go like this;-
You will take up the option on his contract - to try to get a decent fee for him
early in June/July you will turn down an offer from Bradford hoping to get an improved offer.
Bradford will then sign someone else.
Early/Mid August you will let him sign on loan for Barrow* for the season and you will end up paying most of him wages....

*might not be Barrow - but the same scenario with any club

Doubt it, we’ve loaned out Andy Cook twice now and I’m not sure about the Bradford move but for Tranmere we got a significant fee on top of his wages. Trying to recoup that £150,000 lol.

We need some PROPER signings this summer, get some real quality upfront and in the midfield instead of playing those fucking useless pub team players like Melish and Toure.

Melish has 14 goals from midfield this year, he can't be that bad surely

I would love it if we had a midfielder who could score 14 goals in a season, it is years since we had a player capable of getting anywhere near that total...Yan Klukowski is probably the last one, who scored roughly one goal every three games, but was years ago.

Yan Klukowski - the Frank Lampard of the Conference.

Tbf there aren’t many strikers that get more then 14 at this level most seasons, let alone midfielders. Think Reece Brown got double figures but no other midfielder has since we’ve been in the league, and the only strikers that have are Doidge and Matt.

Carver is being very harsh on Mellish imo, has always looked decent when I’ve seen him.

One of my favourite Rovers players of all time, if I were naming a dream eleven he would probably be in it, despite having played for us when we were distinctly average in the Conference. I believe he is on the coaching staff, possibly working with one of the youth teams...we could do far worse than put him in charge of training our midfielders.

EFL Hub states the Coventry are looking to sign our midfielder Jack Powell.

He has played a lot of games this season and has a good range of passing and is good at set pieces . Out of contract so no fee involved if true.

Lucky we have Josh Wright to replace him. :err::ffs:

Apparently Oxford and Wimbledon are after Nicky Cadden and Bristol Rovers want Aaron Collins.

That Hub site is the pits. We’ve been linked with Gary Hooper, Conor Macaleney and some defender from St Johnstone.

We haven’t even got a manager!

We were linked by EFL Hub to Frank Nouble and someone else who I can’t remember, when we don’t have a manager or know what league we’ll be in.

Jobi McAnuff has announced his retirement from playing the game.

What a player he was for us in his second spell from 2017-2021. We was always a better team when he played.

Finished off this season with 3 stunning goals against Bolton, Southend and Plymouth.

Best of Luck to him in whatever he does next.

When we played you at Brisbane Road he looked by a mile the best player on the pitch for either team even at that age. Be a tough one to replace that.

We've apparently got L1 teams knocking our door down with offers for Joel Dixon (who would be on a free), Scott Quigley and Patrick Brough;- so once we know whether Rob Kelly is staying we'll be trying to strengthen and fend off people trying to get our best players too.... pretty standard closed season then.

Think Dixon is a goer.....Think we have a good chance of landing John so dont think we will be after Brough
And the are better forwards than Quigley out of contract........so we wont be paying a fee for him

Dixon might depend who else is interested - IF Sunderland is one team that might complicate things as he played for them when he was younger. Brough and Quigley you can't try to sign anyway for another year[- and Evatt will have moved to Derby by then.

Love this time of year... after being linked with the likes of Balotelli and Fowler in years previous!

First one is we are after Paul Mullin as he wants to move back closer to Liverpool apparently. haha!
