Not the point though, is it? It’s light years ahead of the Power years.
Well Power's plan initially was very similar, but to pocket any profits made. Under Clem it sounds much more pragmatic. Will be tough and time consuming to implement but we are at least going in the right direction off the pitch!!

And expensive. I presume Exeter fans have a good idea of how much an Academy costs to run.

Exeter's output from their academy is incredible. That said they are still bobbling around the play-off fringes in league 2 whereas by now you would have thought given their income from these players would have got them into a position of being an established league 1 side at least.

Don’t seem willing to reinvest, though. Christ, if the best they can do is Grounds . . .

Dan, Agombar. Go and look up the costs in setting up and running an academy and then look at the set payments the bigger clubs can cherry pick your youngsters for.

Unless you can get the kids on pro contracts the chances of getting a million for a youngster are nigh on impossible. The days of Jack Wilshire's teansfer to Arsenal are well and truly over.

Thing is, they might be good at producing players but it wasn’t that long ago they thought Ajose would be a good signing so they clearly struggle to recruit.

Signing senior players is a different kettle of fish from running an academy. It looks like we may be going more for the Brentford approach by picking up young players that have already been through academies and have fallen through the cracks.

This latest lad, Aguair, has already played 80 games for Worthing at ‘mens’ level and is only 20. The other, Mo Dabre, has already been through the Volenti Academy and is 18.

I don't know why you're slagging us off, we've finally made the signing that will shock League Two.

Padraig Amond on a season loan...

We can do better. We signed Pierce Sweeney!

Signed Padraig Amond on loan earlier. Maybe a shrewd one, that and Newport fans seem annoyed he’s gone, so that’s a good sign.

Chesterfield still using that money saved from the dodgey Furlough I see, you’d think they have spent all their money on Gloucester City finest by now.

I'm sure we've been talking about Tshimanga for five years, there must be a reason he's never left Borehamwood

I think most of us are disappointed his Newport playing days have come to an end. Is a bit of a legend and has been instrumental in recent cup wins in particular. Truth of the matter however is that his age is catching up with him - he’s lost his goal scoring instinct not just his legs. I was hoping he might have dropped a little deeper for us this season, attacking midfielder as he often dropped deep last season to help protect a lead but would appear to have had a falling out with Flynn. Will be forever held in high regard by Newport fans as he still is with other clubs like Grimsby, which is a measure of the man. Pob lwc Podge.

Barrow chairman on BBCRC saying that Zanzala was already on his way out of Carlisle before Barrow showed an interest, and he was set to sign for Bradford before they came along and lured him away to bigger and better things.

Problem with that is everybody is going to follow that path eventually and we will all end up with the dross like its always been.

Don't be. Very likely to be another Ferrier.

He was playing for Oxford City in the NLS in 2018 when he scored a hat trick against us in the FA Cup.

Probably a decent conference player and nothing more, he did get a move to Blackpool a couple of years ago but then ended up back on loan in the conference straight away, probably because that's his level. I would suggest he'd be a decent squad option for lower half L2 sides.

We're also signing George Williams, last of Grimsby but before that of FGR. Apparently struggled to get into the relegated Grimsby side last season but was maybe lacking confidence after a bad injury by all accounts.

Yes, Amond is the best striker we have had since John Aldridge but afraid he has looked finished for ages.

Was it Yussef who got a ban for pissing against the side of a stand somewhere in view of spectators?

I remember Grimsby fans saying that they couldn't understand why he wasn't being picked, and then when he played a handful of games towards the end of the season they were saying he was one of their better players. I bet they're saying he's shite now?

Was the most obvious summer signing as soon as Cooper came in, so surprised it took this long. I wonder if he's going to be more of a supporting striker or a central midfielder for us.

Yussuf was very poor for us last season, I’m surprised he’s managed to find himself a league club in all honesty

We're building a nice little niche of becoming a rescue home for mediocre conference players (Byrne from Halifax aside) and others who've played about 4 games in the last 5 years.

so you'll be signing Luke James if we get another striker in soon?
p.s as you know it's only his goal return that's not great... there's no faulting his effort.
