id love harratt back with us for a year and can't really understand why he'd go to bradford at the start of the summer especially.

he was immense in the swindon home game and even better at wembley, deserved his goal. pretty gutted if thats true to be honest.
I don’t know what the lad looks like is this him? If so it’s done already.

Good goal scorer is Harratt, surprising to see Huddersfield let him go as they seem to rate him, didn’t really get much of a look in until the second leg but tore Swindon apart then carried that into Mansfield.

Certainly potential there to be a 20 goal poacher IMO.

Thought we'd have signed a few more by now. Simmo runs a pretty tight ship and there are no proper rumours going about so either club have been very good at concealing info or there simply have been no steps forward. Simmo goes on holiday at the weekend and he said he wanted some in before then so maybe a busy Friday?

It’d probably make sense for Harratt to get another spell in L2 rather than come to us and basically be on the bench in L1. Lots to like about him not least his energy and attitude but does need to learn not everything has to be done at 100mph. He wasn’t meant to go on loan until next season and it’s only because we went to town on presenting a vision to him he made the call he wanted to come to us in January.

Just a reminder of the League 2 signing templates.

A League 2 new signing

Fan: We've just signed [Player] from [Club].
Any good [Club] fans?

Response 1:-
[Club] Fan:
Yeah he's class.
Fan: Great, sounds like exactly what we need in [Position].

Response 2:-
[Club] Fan:
Yeah but was 4th choice here so good move for him to get some games.
Fan: We've probably just signed him as back up/cover.

Response 3:-
[Club] Fan:
No he’s crap.
Fan: We've probably just signed him to play in the Pizza Trophy and when we have 15 injuries.

A League 2 player rejects new contract to move to another League 2 club

Fan: We've just signed [Player] after he rejected a new contract offer from [Club].
Any good [Club] fans?

Response 1:-
[Club] Fan:
Yeah but we probably told him that he’s not going to be first choice here so that’s why he’s rejected a new contract here.

Response 2:-
[Club] Fan:
No I thought he was poor, I wouldn’t have offered him a new contract so I’m relieved that he’s turned it down. He’ll probably do a job for you though.
Fan: Sounds like he wasn’t settled. Our manager obviously thinks he can get more out of him. It’s a low risk gamble.

What I will add with Harratt (and Edmundson in fairness) for loan players their attitude was unreal, they lived and felt everything, during penalties he was kicking every ball and so where a lot of loan players just turn up, don’t really want to be there or are half arsed as they are going back he was the polar opposite.

Probably won’t be popular at the County Ground after going the McKirdy machine gun celebration after pens at their fans mind!

Whatever happens he scored for us at Wembley and will go down in Vale folklore I wish him the very best I really do.

I think it’ll be important who his strike partner will be at Bradford. Always seemed to link up best with Wilson who’d drop deep and direct traffic for him. Obviously there’s not many James Wilson’s around but a player of that type and he’d thrive.

We play a 4231, although with Walker in behind the striker he’s like a secondary striker as he scored more than assisted.

Well since Hughes came in we've played 4-2-3-1 so unless he's planning a change of system then he'll be on his own upfront for the most part I'd think.

I haven't watched the highlights, just saying that two people who know this game (and the player in question) far better than you do disagree with you.
Both also extremely biased and there's video evidence to show you they're talking shite so maybe watch the video yourself

Because the highlights showing him conceding 7 goals show that his performance was dog shit. The other 87 minutes of the game are irrelevant if you make as many mistakes as he did in the game.
Absolutely stupid statement to make based on watching a few minutes of highlights. The kid saved Scunny from a cricket score.

Happy for a change if he's signed. Liked the look of him in the playoff final.

Top lad is Harratt. Real hard worker and quite a character it would seem. Would have liked to have had him again for next season but he will get more game time at Bradford and its just down the road from where he lives too so it makes sense. I really hope he does very well.

It’ll be impossible for Bradford fans not to love Kian once he gets going. Does a cracking interview as well, the lad has no filter and clearly skips any media training lessons. See there’s a January recall clause so if Hudders fancied testing him in L1 if he does well up to then maybe we might be interested at that point.

Think there’s a fair chance of that, these ‘season long’ loans aren’t worth the paper they’re written on given how frequently the successful ones are recalled are in Jan. Hudds especially have form, shafting Hartlepool this year by recalling and loaning us Matty Daly, I think even when we had Jack Payne from them a few years ago we had to pay them his full whack (£11k ish a week?) to keep him on for the second half of the season.

Aye, rule #1 never get attached to a loan player. We had the same with Dennis Politic in January.

So our new signing has got a bit of attention from the Swindon massive’s Twitter mob. What’s their beef with him?

After the shootout was over he basically ran from the touchline as he’d been subbed earlier and did the McKirdy machine gun celebration to them in the away end. Clearly went down well

Like I say you lot will love him.

Because you've tried to argue and failed that Scunthorpe played a good team and didnt in anyway throw the game despite getting a jetty payout from that convenient contract clause lol? You realise your posts are still visible?

A keeper makes as many mistakes as he did in those few minutes of highlights, conceding 7, is all you need to go on. The other 87 minutes he couldve been courtios, he had a shocker and the video proof is there for all to see.

If you and Masi could fuck off upstairs away from the rest of us that would be delightful.

Thank you.

And his family! His Dads been all over in the away end singing all the songs etc! Nice to see him message the Vale fan groups tonight saying farewell.

Looks from his comments they were wanting to stay at Vale but Huddersfield wanted the game time and we couldn’t guarantee that which is fair enough. I hope he smashes it and will keep an eye on his development.
