He was nowhere near the level Grimsby fans said he was - but he was in a badly out of form Barrow side. Our main left wing back Brough is twice the player he is.

Had some ability, but was physically weak, didn't seem to have any defensive attributes, and seemed to break down a lot of moves with a misplaced pass. Can't imagine any Barrow fan would want him back.
Sounds perfect

42 games last season in the Championship as Hull captain, can’t believe we’ve pulled it off that’s our best signing in years.

Reminiscent of when we signed Nathan Doyle the last time we were promoted from this league.

Over the moon with this signing.

Didn’t he explode onto the scene at Motherwell and then proceed to do nowt at Rangers? Billy big bollocks move went to his head maybe?
You can only conclude that Jack rushed that move through

Heard we're also in for Josh McPake on loan or a permanent from the flag shagging unionists.

Didn’t do much for us and his attitude was a real problem. Don’t think we played to his strengths though and he showed glimpses of potential.

And ourselves, Miller on the other hand…
I’ll take somebody who puts effort in every game over a lazy toxic bastard every day of the week and has stated previously players can be great at one club and complete dogshite elsewhere. John Marquis missed some absolute sitters for us, still managed 64 goals in 136 appearances, I’ll take that off Miller

Well thanks for the info. Edmondson sounds like just the type of player for Carlisle. Shit, but with the ever so slight possibility that he might improve.
I have a sense of deja-vu about "Edmondson" and Carlisle.

Many years ago, Carlisle had an Edmondson. Played at the back, alongside Dean Walling, when Carlisle were pretty good.

For no good reason, I think Carlisle have just become a good promotion bet for next season...

Left back Adam Lewis on loan from Liverpool, looks like a good CV and it's a position we badly need a reliable player in.

But why do huge clubs keep on youth programme graduates well into their 20s when you need to be world-class to get into the main squad?

That's the bloke. Not only pretty competent, but also not averse to the odd "heavy" tackle when an opposing forward annoyed him... :)
yep - he was also our caretaker manager for 18 days in 2005 then our actual manager from Dec 2013 to November 2015

Apparently Leeds have inserted a sell on clause in the Edmondson deal, which gives me optimism that they must see a half decent lower league player in him.

Thought either yourselves or Grimsby would have been in for podge seeing as he was a free agent! to late now though as he has just joined Woking.

Not after he downed tools and refused to play for us, he's finished these days anyway, it's why he's gone to Woking.

heard that myself, think he,s been in Lge2 on loan before.
I'd be happy with Hastie and him. Players with ability who've lost their way. Its a much better direction than gobbling up the likes of Mike Fondop.

Hastie to be announced.
Also Mickel Miller, forward released by Rovrum.

Seen lots of reports on twitter linking Miller with a move to L1 sides. would be surprised if he dropped to L2.

We might be on the verge of securing a left back, what was Glennon like Grimsby fans?

we had him the 2nd half of last season - was ok, but nothing special (which surprised Grimsby fans when we said it). did score one of our goals in our 5-4 AET loss at Barnsley in the FA Cup. That was his debut and his best performance.

He was brilliant for us and I was massively surprised to hear he didn’t turn it on for Barrow. Our fans got excited when Burnley released him so they’ll be disappointed if you sign him that’s for sure.

IMO there’s no way he’s regressed that much to be as bad as Barrow say, I’d suggest being in a bad team was a big contribution, Burnley had him on their bench numerous times so must’ve rated him.
Yeah, same as Lew. He looked absolutely class for us but that was a while ago now. I'd have him back in a heartbeat despite what the Barrow lot are saying. Potentially the best full back at this level going off what we saw of him.

Nah, he's not had a decent season for a while has he? Hurst had already said he had no interest in signing him. We're probably looking at a starting #9 on those type of wages not someone who has mainly been warming benches for the past few seasons. Loved Podge when he was here but there's no room for being sentimental about that now, we need better.

As much as I agree with you I also feel given recent seasons that Bradford would somehow need to sign the UEFA team of the season to have a shot at not fucking their entire season up in the first couple of months.

Things are completely different now, behind the scenes.

I’d go into more detail but honestly, I can’t be arsed.
