Interesting that Carlisle are not doing open trials this year.

It has previously been the most embarrassing part of preseason for us, aside from the time we had to go part time for a few months during COVID,

I guess things are starting to look a tad more professional at the club under Simmo.
As in, anyone could turn up? Or did trialists need to provide some evidence they’d played at a decent non-league level?

Looks like we have Harvey Lintott on trial, young lad released by Gillingham. Im sure he will be one of many triallists, as all clubs tend to have at this time of year. Barely featured for you but any thoughts Gills fans?

Honestly not a lot to say. Played some games as our squad was decimated but didn't look anything special to suggest he was actually good enough to be in the first-team picture long term.

That said, still a kid so who knows.

No it was open, anyone could turn up. It used to be done a couple of weeks before preseason, then any that were good would be invited for preseason training.

Fresh rumours last night that Odusina will be announced today. Just want him to hurry the fuck up and sign somewhere, anywhere at this point.

Hoping for a bit of business this week, only Scott Flinders and Hiram Boateng signed thus far.

Sam Sherring also rumoured with Wrexham, so if Sam hasn't heard anything of substance probably just an agent trying to squeeze another 10k a week out of the Welshmen.

Horsfall is one I would like at Mansfield; very good signing from the big spenders of the division.

Don't need to pay big money when players are dreaming of the Stockport viaduct and Castle Street.

Also, apparently the Odusina rumours weren't true, so the Poolies can put their lighters away.

Horsfall will definitely be a loss from us. Leader, aerially hes a beast in both boxes, rarely injured. Not the greatest on the ball further forward but not horrendous on it either.

That being said, we do seem to have had an amazing run of CB's in recent seasons (Ash Taylor aside) so im confident we can replace him. That being said of course would have preferred keep him here.

Great signing for Stockport.

Tell us about it!!? :pmsl:

Good luck to him, you all already know his strengths and weaknesses, we've been over it many times, biggest club in the league, increase in wages, chance to play infront of 15-18K every other week, can't fault him, ambitious move, hope it's a success.

You just know he’ll be announced at Crawley come 5pm and we’ll get some under 19 lad.

Nice one re: Timi.
But there,s only one club NOT bigging him up and thats us.
Who ever gets him will enjoy the rollercoaster.

Why does nobody realise thats why DC hardly played him.

This Odusina lad is gonna be really disappointing after we've built him up so much, isn't he? :(

Look just come to terms with the fact that he'll probably get the ball tangled up in his feet in what was more commonly known as 'doing a Timi' a few games a season and sometimes you'll have your heart in your mouth when he has the ball at his feet but he's still young and has bags of potential.

Depends whos along side him and how strong they are.
Like has been said many times his pace is his biggest asset.

Probably but after watching Anthony O’Connor run in trickle for 3 years anything is a bonus even if he does make mistakes. As the saying goes they wouldn’t be at this level if they were flawless.

I forgot about Anthony O'Connor. Thanks for reminding me he exists!

Looks like Platt will be playing next to him so no idea. Think Platt is supposed to be strong though. Fingers crossed it works out if he does sign.

This actually sounds like the most Bradford City thing ever haha.

Sounds on brand for Challinor, similar has happened to Quigley/Kitching.

yep Platt is strong - I think his dad and Uncle were professional Rugby League players and one of the 2 played for Great Britain - so he has no problem getting stuck in when needed.

If he's as slow as others are making out, we'll struggle with him and Canavan at the back.

Quality, your source has got the last few you've mentioned bang on so I'm gonna assume it's done now too.

He’s slow.

But he’s good in the air and we found he was solid in his positioning. Hope he does well.

He's not quick but he's not a bad L2 defender. Wont tear up trees but should do a job for you. Orient fans described him as a carthorse... I think thats a bit unfair, he's just a typical L2 defender.

I was surprised to hear he struggled at Orient. He was good for us, and only fell out of favour when he became ill with Covid and a very decent youngster emerged in his place. You’ve signed a decent player in my view

It was done on Tuesday apparently, there’s also truth in the Sunderland lad but that’s not done quite yet
