Would be a very decent signing. Barnsley and Southend also in for him supposedly, doubt Southend could get near you wages wise but Barnsley might be considered favourites I would guess.

Paul Robinson has left the club by mutual consent. Did not see that coming.

If Alan Smith can play there, so can McLeod.

Why is Reuben Reid to Pompey all over twitter? Has that come from somewhere legit or is it nonsense?

We've just released Paul Robinson and the rumour is that we needed to get a big wage earner off the bill to bring in Reid. Rumours suggest he was at the training ground today and when we announced our squad numbers earlier this week number ten was suspiciously left out.

I think it's a goer, although if Cook is going to play 4-2-3-1 with Reid up top then that suggests that Tubbs could be on his way too.

Yeah he turned Dons down in the summer to stay with Pompey but he'll surely end up at yours now.

Big rumour that Reuben Reid is set to sign for Pompey, too.

Reid is starting for Plymouth tonight so sounds like a bullshit rumour to me.

We've signed George Taft on a 6 month loan from Burton Albion. Played 37 times for them last season and will give us more options a center or left back.

Frankly, don't know anything about him at all, however I have an inkling he'll not be a regular starter, more like a squad player. Hope I'm wrong and he'll turn out to be a valuable asset.

Would 10% be profit or total? I'd assume profit,

The bold bit is the crux of the matter. I know we've gone in for Payne, which shows intent, but I'm not at all confident we'll get in a leading Leagye Two player to replace him.

In my opinion we still need a lb who can play cb, an attacking cm, possibly a depth wide attacker depending on how hot Kashket is for a decent promotion attempt. If McAnuff goes, add another attacking midfielder who can play wide.
I agree we'd probably struggle to get a better wide player in, unless we paid another transfer fee (I did just say that) :eye:

I'd happily take Jonathan Douglas from Brentford on a years deal instead of Payne if I had to, but I reckon he will end up in League One.

Yea, don't know why Reid would be at our training ground and then be playing for Plymouth. Either way I hope Tubbs stays. Gutted Robinsons left, hearing gone back to Millwall.

He won't be joining us then.

Can't imagine he's on the same as Tubbs and we know we matched Pompey's offer to him in January. We never spent the wages last year we put aside for that and Lyle Taylor will be on less. I think we're quite capable of paying the going rate for a quality centre half. We'll find out soon enough though.

Rumours round our way that he's staying in League 2...

Story in our snooze mentions Wimbledon so your right, also says he was a top earner at the club.

Still don't know exactly whats gone on, was named captain for the season and is now off all of a sudden.

Apparently Theo Robinson was on trial for us last night?

Well he was the starting full back for Burton wasn't he last season?

Surely must be better than Greg Taylor.

Greg Taylor is transfer listed and won't be getting much game time this season. Taft played as a 3 man defense last season at Burton and I suspect it will be the same with us, although we already have three good central defenders in Roberts, Legge and Coulson so he won't walk straight into the side. Taylor will hopefully secure a loan or permanent move away with the signings we've made this summer.

Happy CMS day by the way!

We have signed Sam Hoskins on a 1 yr deal. Imagine he will be third choice striker. Happy enough with him.

Not really a trial. Basically it was too late to register him on Friday. Will finalise paperwork next week.

Playing for us today as "a trialist", basically because the paperwork couldn't be filed in time. Theoretically I suppose someone else could still dive in and make him an offer he can't refuse.

Theoretically that's a brilliant signing. I do find it a bit weird that no one from a higher division has shown a serious interest, though.
