Just seen Tranmere signed Rob Apter last night

A really special player, was one of the very few players in our team last year that was enjoyable to watch. Very one footed but that one foot is incredible
Has he got any pace? Was on our books when he was younger.

Nah he's not pacy, he likes the ball at his feet and to take players on. Played on the right for us so was always looking to cut in on his left and shoot

We flogged Wakeling in a late, late deal to Posh. Unbelievably, we reportedly got £300,000 + 30% add on. He was 4th choice striker for us!

MacAnthony must have been on the Guinness.

Give it time, got a good track record with strikers to be fair!

His problem is going to be zero end product, or at least that was his issue at Scunnie last year. He was playing in an utterly abject team though - clearly has ability.

Unconfirmed but apparently we've appealed the Armstrong transfer with the FA. Harrogate also want the move to go ahead. Appealed on the grounds that Ourselves, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea have to get international clearance for transfers. According to the English FA'S transfer regulations due to the international clearance rule we get an extra hour. So we had until midnight and submitted the paperwork @ 23:50.

Could all be BS , I have know idea if that rule is even there. If it is, I don't think it should be, we had long enough

Wrexham have created their own time zone.

That’s an unexpected turn up for the books

Sorry but I don’t see any reason why they get an extra hour, competing in same league so rules gotta be the same.

As I said, if the rule is true, I don't think it should either

Exactly, if they want to play in the English league rather than the Welsh league, they should have to abide by the same rules as the rest of us.

For what it's worth, I think Wrexham and the other Welsh clubs should play in the Welsh league anyhow, Rangers and Celtic cannot play in the English league

It would be great if the same rules applied to us, but they don't. We have an extra layer of beauracracy to get through for signings - until our last season in the NL we were the only club in the league who had transfer windows. No idea what the grounds for the appeal is and all of that may be bollocks.

In other news the Wycombe chairman has suggested we illegally tapped up Hanlan (although he could have been talking about QPR)

You've probably got no chance . When we missed the deadline by a supposedly 4 seconds and the transfer of JCH was ended.

No, their chairman just mentioned something in an interview. I suppose if he does make it official we will find out if it's us or QPR he was talking about (Ainsworth was trying to sign Forino all summer).

Their chairman seems very litigious so I'm sure something will come out.

The thing is that the rule is there for when players are coming into England from a foreign country, not when they're going out.
However, if the hold up was the FAW, then you stand a good chance of winning the appeal. That's the reason the hour extension is there for; having to get approval from 2 football associations.
If you simply didn't send the paperwork through to anybody until after 11, then it's a bit more dubious whether you should win the appeal.
There are conflicting stories as to what happened.

Not at all. We've never had any rivalry with you and never will. Just my take on Welsh clubs in general and which league I think they should play in.

I also think Berwick Rangers should be in the English league pyramid and not Scottish

As hilarious as Wrexham missing out on Armstrong and him being stuck at Harrogate sulking is, all it serves to show is that a total refresh of the window is needed. The last minute rush of everything is beneficial for nobody at all other than agents really.

I feel for the managers and scouts and anyone involved in recruitment at clubs. Sounds like poor Hursty was locked in his office for a few days and crawled out to do training once or twice. Sounds like a right nightmare and must be absolutely terrible for the mental health of those already working in a highly demanding field.

Stockport County.
I reckon Wrexham are due one to go their way with Welsh FA stuff. I thought it cost them not being able to bring players outside the window in the NL in the 21 22 season. We brought in people like Sarcevic outside the window and when we got a couple of injuries towards the last few months we were able to bring in loanes to cover. Bit unfair really.

This feels unfair on Armstrong tbh. I hope it goes through.

Thats because Scotland is a seperate country to England where as Wales is a principality! in the same way as Monaco play in Ligue 1 in France.

Does anyone outside of Wrexham watch it?
I watched the first series and to be fair it was pretty good although my reasons for watching were purely selfish because I knew the last episode was gonna be all about our play off win.
But the whole lot of it was actually a really good watch barring the occasional really weird episode.
Reynolds and McElhenney come across on it very well especially McElhemney who i’d never heard of before but I really like him now.

Surprisingly it is a very good show. I reckon anyone with an interest in lower league English football will enjoy it to some degree.

The episode about Lads and Dads....got me a bit that one.

Out of curiosity league do you have Chester playing in? Ground in Wales offices and the city itself in England.
