Going slightly off topic, but season 2 of Welcome to Wrexham starts Sept 12th.

They could always start off with the Armstrong thing.

I've watched it, as I have done with most non-PL documentaries, Sunderland etc.

I thought it was good, apart from when that lad who was a decorator (?) was in it, came across like a right chopper (apologies if he posts on this forum), and the awful scene where the owners meet a small group of fans in the pub, all shouting over one another to get a word in.

I'll be waiting to see which 3 episodes they dedicate to how amazing Notts were and just watching those, thanks. I don't need Wrexham becoming any more likeable than they already are.

He is a helmet and all of our sane fans cannot stand him. Sadly I already know that he will be featuring again in series 2.

FWIW a lot of us have the same opinion. He's constantly on twitter begging for tickets.

Yeah that scene was cringe. Hated the hooligans episode too.

Once you've accepted the narrative that plucky Wrexham are the only working class club/town to have suffered economic hardships and relegations and gotten over them explaining how many points you get for a win and what the cup competitions are then yep it's a very decent watch barring the episodes mentioned above plus the one that is an hour of explaining what Wales is.

Fave people in it: Jordan Davies and Rob
Least fave: Harvey and that fucking Deadpool kid

Stockport County.
I watched some of it. Like Codsy, I reckon I watched it because selfishy for the first season happy ending.

I remember thinking the owners just seemed sound guys tbh, particularly Rob, who seemed to me to be slightly more involved than Ryan Reynolds.

Dean Keates aka Bobby Davro came across a bit of a bellend to me, laughing at that Humphrey guy when he was doing his talk. Could tell he wanted to be one of the "lads" and I bet it didn't across great with the owners to be honest.

its all good for the documentary though isnt it

Isn't it? An overly cynical mind might suggest you've never had any intention of actually buying him and all this is scripted.

Colchester sign Cameron McGeehan. Annoying as we were rumoured to be in for him.

Callum Ainley to Grimsby rumours coming back around again. Please don't reply Crewe fans, I read it all last time he was discussed!

Yes, they are extremely detestable and I'd like to keep it that way

Was a great player for us last time he was at this level. Real goal scoring midfield player. Followed his career since and he’s not been quite the same since his leg break before his Barnsley move, oft injured in his spell in Belgium although he was the captain there for some of his time still

Funnily enough I spotted the woman from the documentary the middle aged one who seems really nice, when Wrexhams winner goes in at Tranmere, she’s right at the front where the players run over to celebrate.

What does this mean for him? Will he play and risk injury?

Bigger question for me is, do Wrexham try and re-negotiate his fee. Because that's bound to cause a lot of issues at the Harrogate end, as I'm sure they'll demand the fee they were set to get had it gone through on Friday and Wrexham will say it's been 4 months, so they should pay less.

As for the player, he should play. Does him no good sat on the sidelines for 4 months, does any future team(be that Wrexham or any other suitor) any good trying to buy a striker who's not match sharp and Harrogate desperately need goals, given they've scored 4 goals and 2 have been penalties.

Seems like a no brainer, even if there is of course the risk of injury. Be even more awkward in November if when they face each other, he's in the squad.

No way we should pay them the same. He's got less time on his contract and will be desperate to come here. We should rinse them but will somehow end up paying more.

Well our deadline day deal has just gone through. Jonathan Tomkinson signed on loan from Norwich.

Was at Stevenage last year but didn't play much. Regardless, if it pushes Ash Taylor further away from the team, I'm all for it.

Got to feel a bit for Armstrong really. Lad probably would have been on at least 5 times the amount he currently is.

Imagine signing up to that much of a pay rise and then the next minute you aren't getting it.

a big portion of the wrexham fanbase also think he is a c-unit

We've played better without Armstrong but we are now stuck with him sulking until at least January. The whole thing is shit poor. He should change his attitude, knuckle down and score a load of goals in partnership with Marsh. If Wrexham don't want him in January someone else will.

I'd wager that clubs wanted stupid money off of us before then.

Not like we weren't paying stupid money for Armstrong anyway but they'd priced us out earlier in the window by demanding £500k.

Actually glad it fell through. 500k for him was a stupid fee.
