Great depth at wingback now for sure. Interesting he’s mentioned as an option at RCB in the statement too.

Seen Morecambe have signed Ross Millen

We've had about 100 players play for us during our double L2/NL relegation and he was the worst of the lot

They all have the look of National League signings. Cannot see Adams keeping them up.
I guess it's possible that all these players were identified by a comprehensive data and scouting needs analysis, like Crawley last season, but the players i know of just aren't that great. It seems as though they've just signed the leftovers, and it's last season's Forest Green they're reminding me of. Going to be hard to form a team this late (I know they've all probably been training with the club for weeks, but it's still putting a new side together).
It's a long season, but I can see Morecambe getting off to a bad start.

It doesn't feel as though Bromley have added a lot of players, but I'm not sure sides promoted from NL necessarily need to.

Every other team (apart from possibly Newport) looks pretty solid, though I suck at preseason prognosticating. .

Obligatory signing from Crawley. We had no competition or cover for Nemane at all last season, so should strengthen the squad at least.

I know he got promoted with Crawley but he cannot defend to save his life, occasionally will show some pace and put in a good cross but typically for a L2 player it’s not consistent enough.

The ‘strong defence qualities’ quote on the website is a joke, I still cannot believe we sold him for money!

Stockport County.
Morecambe's incomings look like a National League side. I like Morecambe aswell so no joy in saying that.

Adams is a good manager though, he's got his work seriously cut out here though.

Can someone please explain, Port Vale fans perhaps, tell me what it was that we didn't see in Ryan Loft?

Because after he left us I was convinced at how poor he was that he'd end up in the deep depths of non-league football but since then he has been with 4 league clubs and is now still somehow in L1 this time with Cambridge.

Worst player we've had in 10 years and up there with the worst number 9 we've ever had. Tries hard but can't control a football to save his life, can't finish, can't head, can't pass....genuinely baffled as to how he's made a career out of football.

So in answer to you....no, you are not missing anything.

Would be mental as a lot of league one clubs in for him. Going from Ikpeazu Loft and a half fit Willo hitting what 5-6 goals between them to signing 60 plus goals of striker in Stockley, Tolaj and Paton would be mental.

Would surely take our spending to around £1 million this summer. Love you Carol! Sorry for moaning last season.

Can't help but feel it's going to end in tears though. You can't keep ploughing in that sort of dough on crowds of 7-8k. Lost 3.4m up to June 23. Bet it's even worse for last seasons accounts. And dropping into L2 and getting the cheque book out means more significant losses. I know she has £180m from the sale of her business, but the losses she's racking up are crazy.

The only thing holding back Vale this season is Moore. He may well prove me wrong but aside from scraping through a playoff campaign with a stacked Sheffield Wednesday side, what has he actually done? He played a part in relegating them and most of his other jobs too. Vale will win the league now because of me but this is my early season hot take.

I actually agree with you on this. I always thought he came across as really thick when he was Wednesday manager and he didn't turn us around last season, in fact we were probably worse!

He's really got to deliver this season, particularly because he's been given some very good tools to work with.

Paton might be great but people consistently underestimate just how bad the Scottish leagues are

It all depends really. I wouldn't say £3 million losses are a fortune, particularly on a £180 million fortune. It's pocket change.

If we were paying out £10k per week on wages then I would be concerned. They could afford to sustain bigger losses in all honesty. It's not like a former Premier league club running up £50 million losses.

Obviously, we need to move up the leagues with the expenditure but Carol has previously stated that the Championship would be the point where she would need to bring in others with money.

Yes, we only get 7-8k crowds but our shirts sell in their thousands every year, our corporate boxes are constantly sold out and there is a waiting list for most. We also do a lot of business and leisure events regularly. The amount of income must be significantly more than previous years.

Port Vale sell out their corporate boxes. Some people have too much fuckin money.

Also, the relationship we have with ex Crawley players is unhealthy.

I don't think it's ever an issue when owners put the money in as equity and clearly care about the club, its their choice .

It's more the underhand one's (Scunny , Morecambe , Southend etc) when the owners are clearly dodgy and leverage the club against the ground , loans etc basically asset strip it - whenever an owner tops up and wants to buy a lower league club they have no affinity to there has got to be alarm bells from the off really I think .

Could do but Carol wouldn’t likely gamble the club, the money she’s supposedly come into is massive and she’s never likely to expect to see it back. Like the million meals for struggling families.

Also the youth system (one thing Flickers did get right for sure) has raked in decent money and we have even managed to get money for Ryan Loft and Ryan Johnson amongst others.

The losses last season you reference are largely on investments into the pitch, the training facilities and corporate so things that long term we will see a return on.

Also to add we have support from the likes of Ian Donaldson who’s a big sponsor and has a big fortune and the now club president Robbie Williams. (Rumours of a netflixy thing but will see on that).

We need to see that progress now after the stutter in L1, we went up too early we know that but it’s a time to learn from that and instead of investment in infrastructure the money is now there to invest in the squad.

We’ve had years largely of being crap and skint maybe we will be crap and minted but at least some hope now we can really push on. As said though we know the division and know it’s hard, incredibly hard to get up from so no expectations of an easy waltz back to L1.

See your point but also a record for not going up auto wasn’t it? Did well at West Brom and decent at Donny. Has the highest win % of any manager we’ve had before but will now have the backing better than any. Starts a fresh for me though as last season even Pep or Klopp doesn’t turn around that squad.

Also agree, we've been stung before . However, if it comes off, we haven't really lost anything as we've got 3 half decent strikers in.
We signed Liam boyce and Jackson Irvine from the Scottish leagues and they were two of our best players a few years ago. We sold Irvine for
2.5 million.
I think there are some gems in the Scottish leagues. We have hopefully just picked up another one and perhaps you might too.
