We lose out to basket case club Morecambe on a striker with experience and instead have to settle for an unproven academy kid, great.

You're not missing out on much like, he might score a few but not sure he will be the answer to all of Morecambe's problems. I can guarantee he will score against us though.

In other news we've loaned out Dom Telford to Barnet. Never felt we've played to his strengths but you can add him to the list of players that have come here with a decent reputation and then have resultantly done nothing.

Some proper head scratching signings being made at the moment. Probably pick of the bunch is Levi Amantchi leaving Bromley to sign for Walsall. 2 league starts, 12 sub appearances, 0 goals. And he's being signed to help boost them to promotion? Ok then.

Trust me, when you've watched Hallam Hope and Marcus Dackers upfront all season, anything is better! Dallas stinks of a Derek signing aswell, someone who has lost their way and needs a strange man's arm around him? Adams is your man.

Derek has also said recently that we had a deal in place for Duffy before Chesterfield signed him, but we had to pull out because of the embargo. Now it's "sorted" we could do with another winger.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I’d say the issue with Carlisle is he’s not coming in as a first choice I think he is going as a first choice at Morecambe.

If your not drastically wanting to play in non league and trying to get into a shop window Morecambe is a better choice

Confirmed by the club now. A little bit underwhelmed, it's a career trajectory I've seen so many times before. Lad with pace and raw ability but can't put it together consistently and slips further through the pyramid. Wigan fans weren't keen either. Still, it's only a loan I suppose and it's unfair to the lad to be judging before he's played.
I’ve seen this lad featured in 8 premier league games last season for Brentford & has had x2 short league 1 loans to his name that will have only improved him in terms of adapting to the men’s game.

From bits I’ve seen/heard about him I’m quite excited with this one. Full of pace, good dribbler and can play off the right & left. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. Cook rarely misses when it comes to wingers/attacking midfielders.

Few bits from us today then..

Michael Olakigbe, winger on loan from Brentford for the rest of the season as discussed above. Been at Wigan in the first half of the season, & had a short spell at Peterborough last year too.

Dylan Duffy, 22 year old winger we signed on loan from Lincoln on Monday, has today had his loan turned permanent for an undisclosed fee and signed until 2027. Looked promising vs Bromley tbf so looks decent business to me.

Young full back Liam Jessop gone on loan to Worksop in the Northern Prem. Expect we’ll see a few more heading out over next couple of days.

Rovers finally make a signing, Scouser Jake Garrett, young defensive midfielder on loan from Blackburn. He spent the first half of the season at the Brizzle Rovers but got very little game time, though seems to be well rated by his parent club. Maybe he'll do better closer to his home patch, though I'm unsure that coming to Tranmere in our current state is good for any youngster and it's hard to assess how much need we had for another midfielder. Good luck to Jake.

We've just signed a striker who can't get in Bromleys team yippee!!!
You must be seeing something we didn’t in him, good luck to Levi but he was never dislodging Cheeky, and we’ve now bought in a Millwall youngster on loan to replace him

Think Drummond & Hobson will go out on loan. Barnet fans would love Hobson back

Agreed, Hobson I could see going permanently. End of day both were only brought back to cover injuries and now we’re starting to get a squad back together, it makes sense to send both out again to play regular football.

I can also see Daley-Campbell & Akinola going out on loan too.

Brendan Cover on loan till end of season. He was at Port Vale prior - any good you Vale lads?

Good player. We used him at RWB mostly but he can also play as an orthodox RB and in midfield though we never used him there in the latter. To be honest the only reason his loan was ended with us was we’ve got Kyle John, Mitch Clark and Tom Sang who can play there so time on the pitch would be limited. Would say he’s stronger going forward than defending at the moment but he won’t let you down.

I thought cover was good initially and then became crap once the teams form went down hill in November and December.

Andrew Dallas has had his say on his move:

“I was due to sign for Carlisle but then I read the 1FF forum and the Carlisle fans seem a bit loony, there’s this one guy who predicts them to lose 4-0 every week even in the season they got promoted and another one who changes his mind between definitely being relegated or getting in the play offs depending on that weeks result.
So fuck that I’d rather sign for bottom of the league Morecambe on less money instead.”

I’d forgotten about Akinola tbh. Not heard anything about Daley-Campbell for ages. No idea if he’s still injured. Feel like we may not see him again

Good player but definitely one the opposition could target. Was good v Swindon and Wimbledon at home, but was poor against Accrington and Morecambe away. Casual sometimes, cost us 2 points (equally as much as Harper) against Crewe with shocking defending to let the cross come in. Really half hearted, then we've not seen much of him since then. He's one of them that is benefitting from loans whilst he's young, but can be a liability at times.
