Has Bogle signed for Rotherham yet?

Pfft Rotherham? Really?

No, but apparently he's going to Barnsley now instead because he was looking at these forums and he was put off by SERNWA.

He'll be alright at this level but unless he's improved he won't be good enough for league 1.
I will worry about that next season if we get to L1, he will have had a bit more time to mature by then.

We've had bids turned down for Paul Taylor from Peterborough. Also had a bid accepted for that Coulthirst but he wants to stay closer to London where his family are. Barry Fry reckons Leyton Orient want him.

Hasn't improved much I see then. Sigh.
He won't be able to get into this thread any more for the foreseeable.

Taylor is far too good for this league. But if you manage to get him fair play, I'd say you'd be a good shout for the playoffs.

Yeah I doubt it would happen, Coulthirst would of been a great signing too.

Barry Fry has said they're not interested in bids of £100,000 or £200,000 so that's the end of that one

I much prefer signing nobodies for 'undisclosed fee' personally. The sight of cash figures makes my head hurt.

Who? Carver or SERNWA?

I'm sure he was referring to you HG, he can't understand how a team that's 3rd in the league and only lost 3 games has such an annoying pessimist of a fan! :dis:

Where the bloody hell have we got 200k to spend. Not a fan of unsustainable spending.
Then why on earth did you employ the fat one?
He does it everywhere he goes.
He won't go anywhere unless he has a big budget in comparison to the rest of the division.

Well for starters StagsForLife is not John Radford so you are asking the wrong person.

If he's willing to fund the transfer fee himself then fair play, its more the long term contracts on big wages I'd be worried about.

Rumours that Stevenage are to sign Hylton and Rodgers from us.

We've signed Tom James a 20 year old defender from Cardiff whose only senior appearance was against Chelsea in the premier league, and striker Brandon Goodship from Bournemouth both on 6 month contracts.

Our owner is literally stitching us up

We've tried to sign four players this week - I know three were Adam Barrett of Southend, Shaquile Coulthirst from Peterborough (Who as already mentioned, turned down a loan to Mansfield, favouring ourselves due to location) and Craig Mackail-Smith from Luton.

But Becchetti has refused to sanction any of them, which means he either wants us to go down - Or Edwards is going to get the same treatment Ian Hendon did twelve months ago when Becchetti refused to Sanction any signings until we got some wins on the board - Or Edwards faces the sack at some point this month unless things improve.

How can things potentially improve, if you can't even sign any players FFS?

There is also no takeover from anyone right now, no one is interested in buying us.

Liddle is a good signing for Carlisle as long as Curle plays him in midfield.

we had a bid for Shaquille Coulthirst accepted, around the 80K mark. He's currently transfer listed but wants to stay in london and peterborough's director of football has said you're owner is hard to deal with.. so you might of tried to buy him not loan

Don't worry, we won't be signing anyone this window. Edwards isn't even sure if he's allowed to bring Sideways Sammy back from his loan at Dover.

Sorry had to skip this thread for a bit............................so going back a week or so Luton fans (or others - well most others......)........what was the story behind Gilliead going back to Newcastle and then out to Bradford ultimately. Did we send him back he get recalled or asked to go? Seems odd with Jones lauding him in the run up to the window.

Newcastle probably wanted him playing in league 1 after a year and a half playing at this level

He was only on loan until 7th January so his loan just ended. Sounded to me like we wanted to keep him but he wanted to play out wide rather than be shoehorned into central midfield.

Yeah Jones basically said that he had a different idea of what position he wanted to play (don't blame him to be fair, he's never going to be a central midfielder and it was doing him nor us any good trying to shoehorn him in there).

No great loss if that was how we were going to use him. Clearly had great quality but a square peg in a round hole to say the least.

It would appear that the unpopular nepotism beneficiary that is Harry Davis has been informed of his release in the Summer already and will be loaned to Partick Thistle so he can have a chance of first team football.

In my 15 years of watching us I've never disliked one of our own players more than this arrogant scrote. His conduct in the stands at Fleetwood away where he hurled expletives at several fans and his constant berating of others for his own mistakes (It's hereditary clearly) made him extremely dislikeable.

It also felt like he was constantly fast tracked compared to other Academy products cos Daddy was there. Start of 2011-12 we only had one first team fullback Matt Tootle who was a RB. He ended up playing LB so Davis could play (badly) at RB and HD was celebrated by the deluded management as a new £100K signing. After promotion Davis was even worse at fullback but Steve decided to fast-track Junior into a CB position (he never did this with Kelvin Mellor) and dropped Dugdale to accommodate him. Three seasons of regular injuries, two fat contracts and the undeserved captains armband passed to the point where he's now the highest paid player at the club. Now you tell me that's not nepotism given he has no resale value whatsoever given the injuries and alarming rate of goals we've conceded when he's on the pitch?

Also let's not forget the time Davis rejected signing an experienced CB because his son was experienced enough after only 2/3 full seasons experience with the same club and management. And the time Steve Davis said Mark Ellis was a "lucky defender" when his son seemed to have all the opportunities in the world under his turbulent reign.

Good riddance I say.
