We've signed goalkeeper Ben Killip on a 1 year deal.
We had him on trial back end of last season. Just a kid really; the plan was that he was going to be the 3rd choice here. Obviously that didn't work out.

We've got a trialist playing in our Slovenian game today. It could well be Sibbald but the way they've put it in the team it could be a defender...

Perhaps just the media department playing games!

Laurie Wilson from Bolton signs a two year deal. Decent one I think!
Good signing for Vale.

I was hoping we'd get him as someone mentioned we were interested. He's got plenty of Championship and L1 experience and still only 29 so should be excellent in L2.

Nothing concrete is happening. Well at least not to public knowledge anyway.

There's lots of credible rumours that says we rejected £3M for him in January from Derby. Personally I'd want no less than £3M in today's stupid market and it's rumoured we want nearer £4M.

Whatever happens, I just hope it's resolved sooner rather than later so we're not left with him leaving on deadline day.
£1.4m to Brentford. More realistic than those figures you reckoned

That's a figure one city fan has said and all the rubbish twitter pages have jumped on it. The noises coming from in and around the club have been that we would want considerably more than that so I'd be surprised if it's true.

Best to wait and see what happens.

Don't see how it could have been Sibbald in the first half unless we were playing with 1 central defender and a million midfielders.

Second half I imagine the "trialist" was Sibbald (we swapped the other 10 players so I assume it was a different trialist in each half) with Rea in defence. Although the official twitter listed it as Rea in midfield so who knows?

I don't really see how we could make room in the squad for Sibbald AND a new defender without offloading at least one player, be interesting to see the line-up for the first friendly back in England.

EDIT - shows what I know! Official site have just confirmed it was the one trialist playing 90 minutes, so no Sibbald by the looks of it. Wonder if he's had a better offer?

Trouble is we will never know anyway as it's bound to be undisclosed.

Yeah, but surely he'd rather play for Luton than Celtic?

Exeter are in no position to be turning that level of cash down.

Thank you for the concern, Ken. However, as has already been mentioned, there's strong rumours that we've already turned down bigger bids. No one really knows what the story is, especially fans of other clubs so like I've said lets just wait and see what happens.

Got a sneaky feeling he's one that was mentioned over here about missing out on middle of last week.

League One and Two clubs wanted him apparently. Possibly the location suited as was at Portsmouth on trial.

Danny Green is back with us - he played in a friendly at Potton a couple of days ago. He's free to a good home.

I'm sure he's good enough for at least half the clubs at this level, even after his serious injury.

Nowhere near ready for league football according to Brown hence we didn't keep him unfortunately. Hopefully he can recover soon and someone picks him up as would of liked it to have been us.

:bg:

Thinking about it, he might not have been allowed to play for us in an actual match. He's under 24 and been offered a contract so we have to pay a fee of some kind, his registration legally can't change hands unless someone stumps up the cash. Not sure how it works for friendlies, but there may be some kind of rule against it as if he played for us before we paid up and he broke his leg, where would that leave the clubs involved? We'd surely not sign him and Falkirk would be buggered.

Callum Saunders played for us as a trialist today. Can't see that one going anywhere

We dont need the money actually.
The sale of Grimes and Ampadu has meant we are not in need of cash, particularly as the majority of revenue we make from player sales doesnt even go back into the playing squad. We run a policy of thirds, 1 third goes to the youth academy, 1 third goes to infrastructure projects and 1 third goes to the first team.

Believe it or not the first team is pretty much sustained just by the trust and match day sales.

Well good luck if that's the case and I wish you all the best.
I still struggle to realise that a club reliant on trust members and their funds can afford to turn down 7 figures.

Jordan Slew on trial at Mansfield. Good luck with that one.

He missed a sitter and did nothing

He did score a fantastic goal against us in the FA cup, but seems to have done FA since that

It's been a few years since I've seen him play but I think he'd be a good signing for most at this level. We tended to play him on the right side of midfield where he built a decent partnership with our regular right back Ronnie Henry but he was equally effective filling in at full back too.

His athleticism was his best attribute, he always tracked back and would cover Henry if he ever got caught up the pitch. His crossing let him down, it was always the thing that I thought would hold him back making it at a higher level.

It'd seem he's been used mainly as a full back since he left us, can see the logic with it, his ability to get up and down the pitch, he wasn't bad defensively but it made sense for us to use him midfield. If he's anything like the player he was when he left us he'll be a very good signing for you.

Really like CRL. For me, he always looked decent when he featured and I think most thought last season would be his breakthrough year however the form of Woodman saw his opportunities limited. Was quite disappointed to see him released but with Dean Moxey becoming available we didn't need 3 left backs on our books. Hope he's given an opportunity with you as I think he could develop into a very good player.
