Why so down on us, he did reasonable for us. Worked very hard. That said I am surprised Mansfield have shown an interest, I would have expected someone lower down in the food chain.
Steve Evans isn't picky, he may be at the top of the food chain, but that's because he's a consummate omnivore.

Confirmed as a season long deal

Seems an ok signing, had a part mainly off the bench last season and is young and raw. Starting to take shape nicely now under the radar.

The person who runs our local rag has tweeted saying two new strikers will be on the back page tomorrow, wonder who they'll be!

So much for Exeter only selling if they need to... unless they do need to.
Not sure I follow?

We're not desperate to sell but every player has their price and he's out of contract next summer. Everyone knew he'd be gone this window.

Not sure whether it actually means we're signing two new strikers tomorrow. Not been anything rumoured and we've already got 5. More likely some sort of play on words.

Our squad no.'s were revealed today with 5 players, Rhys Murphy, Rob Sinclair, Fabian Robert, Simon Lefebrve and Aarran Racine (long term injured) not being included. Makes it pretty obvious they're on their way out.

If Watkins has actually gone for 1.8m they will have negotiated some substantial add-ons. If it's under 30% sell on I will be disappointed.

Yeah, whoever made that decision needs sacking, immediately. Seriously, he is an injury prone league two(bottom half at best) player. And he'll play like one. He seems like a nice guy, but I can't believe he's found a league one club. I would have been surprised if he'd found a league two club. I expected him to tip up back at Dag & Red, maybe a London based conference club. That would have been more his level.

Ability wise, he's quite poor. Slow in possession, doesn't know how to play a forward ball, decision making iffy. However, that was in midfield. He finished last season as a CB and actually did ok. Maybe if you play him there, he might be better off. But if you've signed him as a midfielder, you are seriously going to struggle unless he's surrounded by some serious quality.

I fear for you with this kind of signing, I really do.

You signed the wrong Bingham. If it had been Rakish then you'd be laughing but you're likely to have lots of competition for his signature.

JJ to Forest rumours picking up speed again. Sounds like they are calling our bluff with an improved second bid, be interesting to see how much for and if we stick to our guns.

I fear for us with all our signings, fully expecting to be back in L2 this time next year. Thanks for the reply though

Confirmation we've sold Ollie Watkins to Brentford for a club record fee (undisclosed by the request of Brentford but Sky are reporting an initial £1.8mill).

It was inevitable he was going this Summer and hopefully he will flourish at Brentford. Luton & Rochdale have done well out recently out of Brentford developing and selling on their players so hopefully we can do the same.

Another great moment for the academy here, more promising young players coming through as well.

How's Pennock done so far?

Was surprised he got a league 1 job tbh, although I know he was a fans favourite at Gills.

Yep good luck to Watkins. He's a superb talent and Brentford have a good record of further developing players and then selling on again for huge money, so hope the same will happen with Ollie.

Inevitable he was going to leave but luckily we're still strong up front. Would love us to put some money into a getting a quality L2 midfielder but time will tell on that.

Stayed up by only one point last season, signings so far have been remarkably awful (most from bottom end L2 clubs). He was a fans favourite but most are of the opinion we're in for an extremely hard season already. He might be given time but I reckon he's up there for first managerial casualty of the season.

I was under the impression the price was £3m and that asking for a fee nobody was likely to pay was a not-so-subtle way of saying 'not for sale'.

I can only assume they thought they were getting Rakish. Kind of like that American buying London Bridge thinking he was getting Tower Bridge.

Seems like the deal for us to sign Craig Sibbald has fallen through. Sounds like he didn't fancy the hard work going by what's been mentioned on Outlaws... if that's ever credible?

Bodes well for other teams now that Watkins is gone.

Exeter less of a threat.

NJ says it's still on but he picked up an injury in Slovenia.

Assuming he isn't lying I guess the story about him training with Falkirk this morning was just Twitter bollocks.

Also JJ was at the game tonight so clearly no fee agreed yet.

He's going to be a big miss, obviously. Although, luckily we are still very strong in attack with Wheeler, Reid, McAlinden and probably Brunt when he signs so we will score plenty.

Think we'll be going more direct this season and likely play two up top with someone partnering Reid. Promotion is still the target....For us to take that extra step we need to be better defensively, which is more of a concern than going forward.

We've got Nigel Pearson's son, James (yes, the one from the video) on trial. I believe he played at Barnet last season but suffered a bad injury?
