If someone had told me Kaiyne Woolery would be worth a quarter of a million one day whilst he was on loan at Notts - I would not have believed them. Did he really turn out to be not utter shit? Well take me to the bottom of the stairs.

Best RB in the division if he gets fit. Very disappointed as he only really left us to peruse a contract at a higher division team.
Yeah, he only read those contracts instead of trying to get signed up to one!

I love how Lincoln are back in my the league and the biggest rivalry for them is Forest Green Rovers.
Unfortunately, when you're a successful as we were last season people try and piggyback on to that. I think, deep down, they just want to keep us close whilst they get used to, for them, a very a big league. A bit like the new kid in the playground who's never experienced anything like it.

You won the mickey mouse league, well done. Now you're the new kid in the playground who's not been here for a while, fans of teams who win the conference need to be realistic and stop being so cocky when they have Matt Rhead, Ollie palmer and Nathan Arnold on their books. Look at grimsby, barnet, cheltenham etc... you're more than likely to have a season like them.

I genuinely have no idea who you've signed other than Scott Laird, who is really good, and the kid from Forest who I've never seen.

Woolery was terrible for us but he was a lot younger and in a higher league. He may have improved a lot but £200k+ is huge for any player in this league.

Michael Tonge signs as expected. Bournemouth young attacking midfielder Whitfield also joins on loan. Just a left back short now.

Has Jermaine Easter joined Grimsby yet? If the answer is no then I can only surmise that somebody had a little fun trolling our good mate Aber G. So much for this guy being a reliable source, itk, blah blah blah.

To be fair Aber G fully believed Labour would win the last election so he has a history of believing incorrect things.

We've spent nothing on our reconstructed squad. This is L2, not the Championship.

To be fair Chris isn't to know, FGR spent more on agent fees last year than majority of clubs in lge 1and some championship, Chris just thinks 200k on a player is normal for league 2 football.

Quite like our summer business. The Hodge, Saunders and Hunt signings were pointless and Jon Stead should have been fired out of a cannon into retirement but apart from that we're looking solid at least. Midfield in particular could be very good in my opinion.

Agreed. Think we're a striker short still (unless Nolan stops using Forte as a terrible left winger), but overall it's exceeded my expectations.

We've got real options and quality in midfield now. Someone like Curtis Thompson, who i still think is really good when he's fit, is going to struggle to get a look in.

well weve been busy today , I feel the last two signings till Xmas;
James Pearson, Nigels son, from Leicester and Wolves forward Dukens Nazen on loan till Xmas at least
Nazen is Haiti's centre forward so should be interesting
We now have a 35 man first team squad, so I think we will lose a couple quite soon

I really need to start saving all these quotes in a word document to use at the end of the season when we go up.

35 man squad is a bit of a stretch seeing as that's including Reid and Turnbull and a whole heap of kids who have never played for the first team before and will most likely spend the season in the u23s. In actuality we probably have a 21 man first team sqaud, supported by the likes of Maycock, Ponticelli, Dev. Kelly-Evans, Shipley, Camwell etc. We still need another CM and another winger imo.

Looked on official site and it's listed as 28 so both of us were wrong.
Like you said which I agree at least three will go though I'm pretty certain no more will come in pre Xmas

Correct that Charlie, they have Turnbull plus Pearson named twice, only our club would do that, so it's a squad of 26.

Not really a rumour but I thought Jones made some rather cryptic comments yesterday after the match with regards Isaac Vassell. Cant remember word for word but to paraphrase slightly it was along the lines of "we asked him for a big performance because there is a lot going on behind the scenes with him." Sounded to me there might be a bid in the offing for him from someone and his head might have been turned a little bit.

I believe he only has a year on his contract too so we arent really in a great negotiating position which is a bit unusual for us these days. Would be a real shame to lose him as he came on hugely over the course of last season, and looked sharp again yesterday.

Might be nothing - but thought it was interesting.

We need to get him tied down to a 3-year contract. And I didn't think I'd be saying that a month ago. Even in one game you can see the improvement even from May.
