ahahaha can't believe someone posted the notorious Conor Clifford video. When he was on loan with us and our fans called him shite, one of two things usually happened 1) his girlfriend would send you abuse or 2) he'd send you a link to that very video and tell you to 'watch the video'.

A c*** of the highest order. No idea if he's any good. He was turd back then.

I think trying to assess a loanee who gets limited game time is always difficult. Sounds like league one was too much for him five years ago. He took a game or two to get going and certainly improved game by game. The video is misleading as his key attribute is closing down.

He's been a really decent bloke and there was no trouble with his girlfriend, but then again we didn't feel the need to send abuse to one of our own players who was doing a decent job for us. Coming to you straight out of the Chelsea academy must've been a real shock to the system and I can imagine him having a fairly big ego at the time thanks to the sheltered life he'd had at Chelsea.

Yeah he might be alright now, dunno.

Still a c*** though, massive c***. He even told a Notts fan to 'go on Youtube' 2 years after he left.

So a Note County fan was still hassling him two year after he'd only played a handful of games while on loan. How sad is that!!

They weren't, you've kinda missed the point. He was searching his own name and responding to these people, they weren't @ing him.

You got a link?
The guy was decent the whole time he was here and many posters on Southend forum saying they are sad to see him go. Seems out of character with what I've seen tbh so hopefully he's learnt to deal with it better.

I'm more intrigued about why the c*** has a urine colour chart as an avatar.

It's a helpful guide for people to assess their level of dehydration before choosing their quality of insult.
Clearly you need to drink at least another couple of litres of water a day fella.

Peter Murphy signs for Morecambe from us. Decent signing for them but I'm not too arsed.

We've signed David Atkinson from Middlesbrough.

Happy with that one. Spent some time on loan with us last season, can play RB and CB. I prefer him at CB even though he's about 5ft 8. Good on the ball and reads the game well for a young(ish) player.

Decent signing, but I've got a feeling he'll be played at right back, rather than in the centre, where he played much better.

Nathan Buddle has signed a contract extension with us too, he only played a handful of games but he looked half decent.

He did play for us under Ince, who basically fostered a culture of everyone being a twat.

Not sure I can even recall him as a player tbh.

Hmm he was listed as a right-back when we announced the deal but I would hope he'd be put in centre back because that's where he looked like a really good player. He'd be great in a back 3.

I remember a few games, I recall him having a good game at Sheff Wed - but so did Sproule and the other shitters that day.

In our first Moniz move, Julian Jenner will be training with us from July 1st. Holland U21 International (....in 2007 :cool1:) - I think he was decent a Ferencvaros under Moniz. Tall winger anyway, who cares, I just bloody love a good foreigner - even if they're shite it's still generally fun.

I imagine he will be in a back three. That seems to be the way Curle is going... but I thought he looked decent at RB too so if we do find ourselves unable to play 3-5-2 at any point (which is perfectly possible, we could have our hands forced by injury, or come up against a much better team where we have to counter their threat) we at least have a proper right-back on the books.

Would I be right in saying he's the first natural right-back to be contracted to us since Simek left? It's nice to have a manager who's views on what makes a right back isn't simply 'any right-footed player'.

That's more like it. We need to hurry up and sign Leonardo too.

Pretty sure he is the first yeah, pretty shocking really. I think the lowest point was when we stuck Potts there. We still need another right-back as well, Hayden White on a permanent would be nice but maybe i'm dreaming.

Well Chimbonda was contracted to us, and imo would have done an adequate job in league 2. But Kav had already decided that Symington was his right back, so released Chimbonda.

:ffs: God... what a tool he was... although he was following a general trend in deciding that the best right backs are midfielders.

Although to be fair to Kav he had stumbled upon that formation, 3-5-2 which was to become his trademark as surely as the wingless-wonders were Alf Ramsey's and catenaccio was Nereo Rocco's.

Well if Hartlepool can attract Rakish Bingham to them then I don't see why we couldn't get Hayden White.

Rakish Bingham is a one off though, a breathe of fresh air in a greed filled sport. He could easily have got bigger money elsewhere, with Manchester City and PSG flashing their cheque books, but money isn't what motivates him, it's football and he obviously believes that Ronnie Moore could be the man to guide him to even better things. A bit like Pep's influence on Messi.

I don't know how things run down here but where we came from we were known for being unpredictable. We range from farcical to 'let the good times roll' at a turnover rate of about 30 days on average. In order to achieve such unpredictably and maintain the rollercoaster effect, you need certain things.

1) Manager sackings - a manager who assembles a squad that get too comfy and start thinking about being 'stable' (yawwwwnnn) - Sack them.
2) Questionable attitudes - if players give consistent effort you get what? Consistent results. Ewww, shit, get them away.
3) Lots of signings - Aim to use around 45 players a season, anything less and you get too predictable, too samey. That shit can get outta here.
4) Foreigners - temperamental nomads, where they came from? Nobody knows. How long they stay? Dunno that either. It's key that they don't stay for too long though, otherwise they adapt to English football and next thing you know they're off to Nandos every week and resembling your average lower league footballer, just with a funny accent.

Having tried to get rid all season, we've finally offloaded Adam Morgan to Accrington.

Strong rumours of attitude problems during his time at Yeovil (thought he'd made it already as he came through the Liverpool youth system) so be interesting to see how he does there.

Another random Outlaws rumour - apparently Luton are interested in signing Anthony Wordsworth, a left-sided midfielder just released by Ipswich Town. Was signed by them for £100,000 2.5 years ago and spent last season on loan at Crawley Town and Rotherham United.
