Nah that's bullshit. I would not be disappointed if he went but he is staying. Another season of one dimensional football.

Been told Will Hoskins is likely to sign for us.
He's obviously a talanted player and when fit and playing regularly will score goals. It just seems like he's been made of glass recently.

I guess Nardiello and Corr both arrived to us with similar or worse injury records and both managed to stay fit for the most part.

What happened to the David Ball rumour, GOG?

Still rumours that QPR are sniffing around Andre Gray, whom we have a significant sell on clause - estimated at around 15-20% of the profit. Rumoured £4m offered, which would mean somewhere between £510,000-£780,000 coming back to us.

That would be nice! Extra money to plough in to the team could push us right up to top 3 side perhaps.

I just can't get into these discussions. I want to get emotionally involved, but I can't mainly cos I don't really know any of these 'big' signings. Bingham?? No idea, small market town near Nottingham. Corr? Saw him a bit on TV in the play offs and know of him, effective but I've seen that sort of player many times, ten a penny. Nowt special, although he seems to be highly rated down in L2.

Saying all that, boy do we need one quality forward at this level coming in. We've got 'the animal' Jimmy Spencer but f**k all alongside him. Bajner? Murray? Hmmmm. Us not replacing 'the animal' last season when the club knew he was out all season was poor, beyond belief. We knew how key he was in our great escape season the year before, so needed to go big to save the season, instead we signed 412 players who were collectively dump. Poor Notts, poor.
I would also like to see us calm down and look forward to some better football and results than we have experienced so far in 2015. It's nice to get those months (FA Cup aside) out of the system. However, if you saw our "upbeat" signings over the last 10 years it is easier to understand our fans reaction. What is quietly pleasing is to see the reaction of Southend and Luton fans - but knowing our luck he'll make no more than 15 appearances in an injury plagued season #realitykicksin.

He has been quoted in the Southend Echo about why he wanted to leave. Said that the manager (Cambridge) plays two up front with two wingers.

Sounds like he doesn't like Brown's playing style and how he uses him. Shame. Another season or two and he could be a real club legend. 63 goals in 183 games for us.
We know that Jez could sell snow to eskimos but, as those who played us last season (and Nathan Arnold, Bobby Joe Taylor and even Harrison Dunk) will tell you, either Richard has redefined "winger" or we have some other fun signings to look forward to.

Just logic innit, rather than pay inflated wages for 30 year old Barry fucking Corr, I'd rather my club used the money on a fee for a decent youngster with resale value, it's how lower league teams should be run.

Alan Smith, enough said.

He has been quoted in the Southend Echo about why he wanted to leave. Said that the manager (Cambridge) plays two up front with two wingers.

So he did go to Cambridge for Money...

Meanwhile the Yeovil bandwagon rolls on, yesterday Grant Adam (Charlie Adam's brother) rejected a trial at us to sign for Morton.

Morton ffs.

He's said that but he's not going to say he's left for financial reasons. Brown's said that he was made a fantastic offer and considering he signed for cufc over Pompey and Oxford I'm 99.9% sure he's priority wasn't playing with another striker which is fair enough, we need better for next season anyway

Bit quiet down here for us, Cook's on holiday and the rest of them are on that Football Conference jolly in Portugal. However the latest rumours are we're after Michael Doyle from Sheff Utd (legs gone apparently), we made a bid of 45k for Roberts but was turned down and Jimmy Ryan is as likely to join us as he is a Championship team.

On Westcarr, well I personally don't get all the hate. I know the Walsall fans warned us that he was lazy but in all fairness he's scored a few goals for us despite spending the majority of the season on the bench and rarely even making a sup appearance.

I don't know, you do get some shite slipping through the net at these Premier League clubs. They have so much money they can just chuck pro contracts around for fun, hoping that if they throw enough shit at the wall some of it will stick.

He's had numerous loan spells in the football league and has done fuck all in each of them.

Sounds like exactly the sort of player we'd end up signing then.

I'd rather he stayed another year personally. If he scores another 15 goals this season he'll be worth double that, £4 million isn't that big a fee for a 23 year old goalscorer with a record like his (considering that we sold Rowan Vine for £3 million nearly ten years ago, while he was older and with a worse goals-to-games ratio at that level).

Gray is still raw and learning at that level so it's understandable, but if he continues his progress at his current rate that sell-on clause could be worth a lot more in a season or two.

£8 million for a 15 goal a season Brentford striker? We don't half overprice players in this country. I'm not saying you're wrong by the way, I'm just saying the game in this country is a joke when it comes to over priced English players.

Sam Togwell has signed a new one year deal with us. Of all the players that were out of contract, he was the most vital to get back for next season.

Naturally Akinde took most of the plaudits from our title win, but Togwell was the player that kept the team ticking over and provided the cover to allow us to attack like we did from the full back position.

Best signing of the close season for us.

Alan Smith plays for County?

I'll be hearing Jay-Jay Okocha and Sami Hyypia are County players too next.

I seem to remember part of your complete dismissal of Matt Green being that he hadn't got two properly functioning legs; yet here you go lording Spencer who has just had a long lay off from the same major ACL injury. So are we to assume that he's broken too?

He has returned.

How about Gary Jones? Or Garry Thompson? Roy Carroll?

Am I close yet?

Only Carroll actually has a contract with us of those. And yes, we spent pretty much the entire season complaining about that.

On the Spencer injury, I'm constantly terrified that he's going to break again, but he came back in half the time of Green and months ahead of schedule, which is promising. If he stays fit then he could be the best forward in this league.

Rotherham midfielder Rob Milsom and Lincoln centre back Tom Miller. We're doing stuff.

*Obviously excluding the GOAT Bingham.

Going up as champions.

Milsom is good from memory, was at Rov'rum anyway. I don't rate that Miller though, think he played as a right-back for Lincoln primarily. He's got a long throw though...and I fucking love long throws, proper ones anyway, not those players that try and do one and it kinda of floats just inside the area.

He can't be any worse at defending than Sean Newton was I guess.

No update really. All I was told is that we were interested in signing him. I trust the source so I do think it is/was true but there was never a guarantee that we'd sign him. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

Swansea have had a £250,000 offer for 17-year-old Barnet striker Matt Stevens rejected. More on @MailSport soon. #swans #barnetfc

Blimey... Although, he did get over 50 goals for our youth team last season.

No because he's already returned, got himself fit and played games at the end of last season (well, not completely fit but he looked close enough by the last couple of weeks).

Are you trying to insinuate that Garry Thompson and Gary Jones are/were high earners.

Is there something wrong with you? They were just old cloggers no-one wanted, same with Carroll to an extent. We didn't outbid clubs and offer enough to turn down 2 year deals from clubs in higher divisions.

I'd give up if I were you.

We've offloaded Ross Lafayette to £astleigh somehow. One off the wage bill at least, another 5 transfer listed players to go.
